Evergreen is a heroine from the anime series Fairy Tail. She is a wizard from the Thunder Tribe who later aligned herself with the Guild.
She is voiced by Saori Seto in the Japanese version of the anime, and by Caitlin Glass in the English version.
Appearance[]
Evergreen is a young woman with brown hair and glasses. Her suit is a white and green garb that cover part of her body and her legs.
In the later seasons her hair grew longer, she has a curly hairstyle and a lack of makeup. After returning to the guild after seven years, she wears a short gray one that is slightly ruffled at the top. She wears dark flats throughout most of the Grand Magic Games arc and is commonly seen wearing fishnet tights.
Abilities[]
Evergreen's primary Eye Magic enables her to turn anyone who looks into her eyes to stone. Evergreen has the ability to deactivate the spell placed over her victims, but otherwise, those who have been turned to stone will eventually turn to dust. However, this Magic will not work if the intended target isn't human, and furthermore, if the victim has a prosthetic eye such as Erza Scarlet, then the effect of the Magic is halved, allowing the target to break free from the stone. It also doesn't work on people who wear glasses.
Personality[]
Evergreen is a woman who loves fairies and butterflies. At first, she came off as an arrogant and vain woman, but she is actually very loyal towards her teammates and allies. It wasn't until she was defeated that she saw the errors of her ways and redeemed herself, as seen when she and Elfman were defeated, and she tearfully apologized to him, blaming the entire ordeal on herself.
Just like the rest of the Thunder God Tribe, she deeply cares about Laxus. After Laxus got expelled from the guild, her and the Thunder God Tribe began to open up to the guild more and is seen around the guild hall on more frequent occasions.
History[]
Not much known of Evergreen's past, but even as a child, she had always dreamed of being a fairy, so she joined the Fairy Tail guild due to its name, not very interested in the other things. Since she is able to turn people into stone just by looking at them, she was very lonely and anti-social. This led her to wear glasses to mitigate the effect of her Stone Eyes.
