The Hobbit (1937)[]
Fíli and Kíli act as scouts during the Company. Kíli later dies defending his uncle, Thorin who was mortally wounded during the Battle of Five Armies
The Hobbit (1977 film)[]
Fíli appeared in the Rankin and Bass adaptation of The Hobbit. However, he hardly ever speaks except with the rest of the dwarves.
Appearance[]
Fíli and Kíli had a yellow beard and hair in the book. He and his brothers looked exactly alike, but Fíli had a longer nose.
Personality[]
Fíli and Kíli are different in personality.
Fíli is stubborn, immature, reckless, energetic, yet fair, and Kíli is worrisome, hot-tempered, and arrogant. However, both are on the side of good as the twins are protective of their family and friends.
Abilities[]
- Sword fighting: Both Fíli and Kíli have been experts on sword-fighting, learning how to by their uncle Thorin.
- Singing: Also being formidable warriors, Fíli and Kíli are great at singing when they were meeting at Bag End.
Trivia[]
- There is some controversy as to whether or not Kíli or Fíli is the older sibling, as Thorin says Kíli is the older one than Fíli in the book. However, in the appendixes of the Return of the King novel, Fíli is now the older one. An explanation would be Thorin could have mistaken Kíli for Fíli or Tolkien changed the order of the brothers' birth while writing Return of the King.
