Father of Ultra (ウルトラの父 Urutora no Chichi), real named Ultraman Ken (ウルトラマンケン Urutoraman Ken), is the commander of the Space Garrison in Nebula M78 and one of the principal heroes of the entire Ultra Series. He is the father of Ultraman Taro, adoptive father of Ultraman Ace and husband of Mother of Ultra. He is considered to be one of the strongest Ultras of the Land of Light.

History[]

Past[]

When Alien Empera temporary conquered the Land of Light with his army of aliens and monsters, during the Great Ultra War. The Ultras fought back against Alien Empera, Ultraman Ken was one of the participants of the war and was responsible for causing the Emperor's and his forces retreat from their invasion after Ken had challenged Alien Empera to a sword duel which ended in both sides receving a wound on their bodies, as a reminder of the battle during the war. During Yuji’s time, Ken met up with Marie, whom treated Ken's wounds. Eventually Ken and Marie marries each other and founded the Space Garrison and later went on to be known as Mother of Ultra and Father of Ultra respectively.

Following the Ultimate wars, Father of Ultra went on adopt the son of his deceased friend, Ultraman Ace. Afterwards, When Father of Ultra was elevated to the Supreme Commander of the Space Garrison, one of his comrades, a veteran of the Great Ultra War, Ultraman Belial, was mentally hurt with his pride and sought to take the Plasma Spark but failed. Father of Ultra and the Space Garrison then caught him and exiled him from the Land of light. However, when Belial merged with Alien Reiblood, he seeked revenge on the land of light and returned with an army of monsters. Father of Ultra saved his wife and a wounded Zoffy from Belial but got defeated by Belial as well until Ultraman King arrived to stop Belial and forming a space prison to seal him up. Sometime later he became a father when his wife gave birth to Taro whom he went to train into becoming an elite warrior.

Ultraman Ace - Ultraman 80[]

Father of Ultra would eventually become a father figure to a group of Elite fighters, starting with Ultraman Zoffy, the son of his deceased friend, the squad of heroes started with five members: Zoffy, Ultraman, Father of Ultra's nephew Ultraseven, Ultraman Jack, and Father of Ultra's adopted son Ultraman Ace. These would become known as the first five collectively known as the Ultra Brothers. Ultraman, Seven, Jack, and Ace would each serve a year on Planet Earth, defending its people from monsters and aliens.

During this time, Ken would help them out in times of crises. The first instance of this being when he traveled to Earth in order save his adopted son Ace and the other 4 brothers after they were turned to bronze by Alien Hipporito. Unfortunately during the fight, the length of his travel started affecting him, causing Alien Hipporito to gain the upper hand and force Father of Ultra into sacrificing his color timer in order to replenish Ace’s energy, killing himself in the process. Fortunately however, once Ace defeated Alien Hipporito, the now unbronzed Ultra brothers took Father of Ultra back to the land of light where he was eventually revived by Marie.

Father of Ultra later returned to Earth on Christmas Eve, disguised as Santa Claus in order to bring gifts to a bunch of school students. However, upon the arrival of oni demon Nahamage and his choju Snowgiran, he went on to assist Ace in stopping the two, with him replenishing Ace’s energy and later confronting and stopping Nahamage himself. Eventually, following Nahamage and Snowgiran’s defeat, he then brought in Ace’s former alien host Yuko Minami so that she could cure the people who had been blinded by Snowgiran. Afterwards, both him and Yuko both left in a sleigh while waving goodbye to the students and Ace’s human host and former partner of Yuko, Seiji Hokuto.

The second Ultra he went on to help following Ace was his biological son Taro, whom he helped defeat Mochiron and Rindon. In the incident involving Mochiron, he helped break up the fight between Taro and Mochiron and then had Mochiron be used by Yuko and Taro in order to make more Mochi’s as punishment to the former after he ate all of them. The next day, him and Yuko both took Mochiron into space while the citizens of Japan celebrated “Mochi-Day”. Father of Ultra later returned to Earth again a fourth time in order to save Taro’s human host Kotaro Higoshi, Tadao, and Tadao’s mother from getting crushed by the monster before. After this, he used the Ultra feather to destroy the monster before later reviving Tadao’s fiance.

The third and final Ultra he ultimately went on to help out before Mebius’ time icon Earth was Ultraman 80 whom he helped gain the confidence to fight back against the monster Ghostdon.

Ultraman Mebius[]

20 years after the events of Ultraman 80, Father of Ultra finally decided on sending an Ultra to Earth, that Ultra being Ultraman Mebius, who was already a student of Taro and Zoffy. Believing that he would gain something invaluable from the humans, Father of Ultra sent Mebius down to Earth as it’s their new protector. Following this, he then watched over him for a for a long period of time.

However, midway through Mebius’s time on Earth, he sensed the possible return of Alien Empera, leading to him having Mebius return back to light out of fear that he would be no match against the upcoming Imperializer that was about to arrive on Earth. Unfortunately Mebius disobeyed his orders and returned back to Earth in order to fight it, which naturally lead to him getting defeated and heavily injured. However, after witnessing him actually defeat the Imperializer with the help of Taro during the second battle with it, he allowed him to stay.

After observing Mebius’ efforts some more, he eventually came in to save Mebius after he had been turned into a golden statue by the evil alien Jasyuline. Just as Jasyuline was about to crack Mebius color timer with their boomerang in order to destroy it, Father of Ultra blasted the boomerang with his Father shot beam. After this, he used his cape to distract Jasyuline while he fixed Mebius color timer, giving him enough time to eventually free him from his petrified state. Now with Father of Ultra on Mebius’s side, the two joined together in order to try and stop the evil alien. During the fight, Jasyuline attempted to fire the Gol-Jasyura at the two, only for Father of Ultra to blind and weaken them with a flash of light from the Ultra array, allowing Mebius to gain the upper hand ultimately defeat Jasyuline.

Following Jasyuline’s defeat, he reassured Mebius that he didn’t lose when he got turned into a statue, bringing up how his color timer didn’t turn to gold along with him which meant that he didn’t yield and therefore wasn’t defeated. Father of Ultra then encouraged Mebius to continue bringing humanity hope as it would make him stronger.

Eventually, during the final battle against Alien Empera, he contacted his already loosing arch enemy to tell him that the Ultras wouldn’t let him encase the sun in darkness before later explaining to him that as long as darkness exists, light will exist as well.

Mega Monster Battle: Ultra Galaxy Legends The Movie[]

Upon sensing that Belial would escape prison, he sent in Taro and bunch of other Ultras to check. However after getting a signal from Ultraman Taro that Belial had indeed escaped and knowing that latter was planning on going to the Plasma Spark tower, he deployed a troop of Ultra warriors to surround the tower in order to guard and defend it. Unfortunately, as soon Belial arrived at the Land of light, he quickly disposed all of them, including the Ultra Brothers, leading to Father of Ultra going in to stop Belial himsef. During the two’s brief fight, Ken managed to hold his own for a while and came close to nearly beating him. However, Belial ultimately managed to overpower him by hitting the wound he received from Alien Empera using the Giga Battleneizer, with his wife Marie suffering suffering the same fate afterwards.

Fortunately, even though Belial stole the Plasma spark, Taro used the Dynamite spark ability to keep the last remnant of light in order to keep the Land of light alive as it was freezing, something that relived both Ken and Marie as they were being frozen.Eventually though, once Belial was defeated and the Land of light was restored, him, Marie, and the rest of the Ultras met up with Ultraman King’ and listened to his speech.

Ultraman Zero: Revenge Of Belial[]

After a bunch of Darkclops attacked the Land of light, Father of Ultra, Mother of Ultra, the Ultra brothers and Seven’s son Zero all joined up at the Inter Galactic Defense Force HQ in order to examine one of the pieces of the Darkclops. It was then revealed by Ultraman 80 that the Darkclops came from another universe, leading to Father of Ultra requesting a volunteer. Without hesitation, Zero volunteered immediately to which Father of Ultra excepted, believing that it was his destiny. After this, he had the rest of the Ultra warriors lend some of their energy their energy in order to create a travel sphere for Zero.

Later on in the film, when a bigger Squadron of Belial’s army started attacking the land of light again, he deployed the Ultra brothers in order to stop them.

Ultraman Ginga[]

Ultraman Geed[]

Upon sensing that Belial had absorbed Ultraman King’s Childhood radiation, he traveled to Geed’s Earth in order to stop him. While Riku/Geed regrouped with his friends, Father of Ultra helped Belial in his place while also creating a forcefield. Unfortunately, Belial managed to overpower the forcefield and escape. However, Belial’s son Geed ultimately managed to defeat him in the end for good, ending his reign of terror. Following this, Father of Ultra complimented Geed on his heroic deeds before returning back to Land of light alongside Ultraman King
