Felix Hugo Fraldarius is a major character of the 2019 tactical video game Fire Emblem: Three Houses and its 2022 spin-off sequel, Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes.
He is a major character of the Azure Moon route in Three Houses and one of the two tritagonists (alongside Dedue Molinaro) of the Azure Gleam route in Three Hopes. In all other routes in both games, he serves as a major antagonist.
He is the estranged son of Roderigue Achille Fraldarius, the younger brother of the late Glenn Fraldarius, and a member of the Blue Lion House. He was a childhood friend of Dimitri, Sylvain, and Ingrid (who was also going to be his sister-in-law, before Gleen's unfortunate demise), but they have a complicated relationship with each other, especially with Dimitri, who Felix often refers to him as "the Boar".
Felix is known for his cold and cynical personality, and his only interest is fighting strong opponents. That being said, Felix does possess a good heart and is willing to support his loved ones, even if he acts indifferent to them.
He is voiced by Lucien Dodge in English and by Yuichi Jose in Japanese.
Background[]
Felix was the second son of Duke Roderigue Fraldarius, the head of the second most powerful noble house of the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus. He was the childhood friend of the crown pirnce of Faerghus Dimitri, Ingrid (who was in couple with Felix's elder brother Glenn) and Sylvain.
Four years prior to the game's events, Glenn, some of the royal knights and Dimitri's father King Lambert losed their lifes during an attack known as the Tragedy of Duscur where Dimitri almost died as well. Since Lambert was in Duscur, the nearby country at that time the inhabitants of Duscue were wrongly blamed for the king's death. Heartborken by his son's death, Roderigue declared that Glenn at least died like a true knight, which led Felix to believe that his father was happy about Glenn's death and punch him.
Two years later, Felix became the squire to a knight and helped stop a rebellion in western Faerghus with Dimitri. However, traitors involved in the Tragedy of Duscur were among them and Dimitri losed his calm and violently killed them out of revenge. In front of his old friend's bloodlust, Felix became disgusted by Dimitri and started to call him the Boar Prince.
Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes[]
Azure Gleam[]
Dimitri and Felix join Garreg Mach Monastery's Officers Academy during the Imperial Year 1180. Some time after Dimitri and Felix entered the Officers Academy of Garreg Mach, Dimitri's uncle and regent Rufus kickstarts a revolution and tries to take over the Kingdom. He is defeated by Dimitri's forces and is revealed to have been one of the masterminds of the Tragedy of Duscur. Roderigue decides to take the blame for wrongly accusing the people of Duscur for being the masterminds of the Tragedy, while only few of them were actually involved. Roderigue then names Felix the new Duke Fraldarius and the latter becomes Dimitri's new top advisor.
When the Adrestian Empire declares war against the Church of Seiros and Faerghus, Felix assists Dimitri and becomes the second in comand of his army. He temporarily takes over as the leader of the royal army when Dimitri has to go to Fhirdiad, his country's capital to solve a problem. However, it turns out to be a trap from Cornelia, Faerghus former court mage who apparently betrayed the crown and helped Rufus cause the Tragedy of Duscur. After saving his king, Felix and the Blue Lions defeat Cornelia twice in a row and kill her. Dimitri then leads the royal army against the Empire (led by Edelgard, and later Thales after Edelgard's defeat midway through the route). Felix ultimately helps Dimitri avenges Glenn and the others by killing Thales, who turns out to be Cornelia's master and stopping his ambitions to rule Foddlan and destroy it's society.
Scarlet Blaze[]
Felix works under Dimitri and helps him to find various strategies to stop Edelgard's warmongering during the first half of the route. He's fought during a side mission where he leads Faerghus forces in battle, but escapes upon defeat.
He reappears during the second half of Scarlet Blaze where he provides advices to Dimitri in front of Edelgard. Following the advice of the Archbishop Rhea, Felix, Dedue, Sylvain and Dimitri lead the royal army against Edelgard's imperial army during a battle in the Valley of Torment, while Rhea tries to take back Garreg Mach, which is under the control of the Empire. However the royal army loses the fight, Sylvain is killed and Felix, Dedue and Dimitri are forced to withdraw.
Golden Wildfire[]
Felix and Roderigue appear as the main antagonists of Chapter 11, where Claude's Leicester Federation attacks their castle in an attempt to take over Faerghus and weakened the Church so Claude could take down Rhea.
During the ensuing battle, Ashe is sent to stop them, but is either captured or killed. Claude's army breaks inside Fraldarius Castle and and defeats Felix when he tries to repel it, but the latter escapes upon defeat. Near the end of the battle, Felix returns with his father and they face Claude's Golden Deers together. However, they are beaten and while they manage to escape, it's only because Margrave Gautier (Sylvain's father sacrifices his life to buy them time).
