Felix Leiter appears for the third time in EON Productions' 007 1965 film Thunderball.
He was portrayed by actor Rik Van Nutter, the second of seven men to play the iconic role of Leiter officially on screen.
Film biography[]
James Bond meets Leiter to find a plane containing two atomic bombs, which they then find along with the corpse of the fake NATO observer. Leiter is assigned the task of protecting Domino as Bond is chased around the city by Fiona Volpe, then Leiter rescues Bond from the underwater cave where the bombs had been placed.
Finally, Bond informs Leiter of where the bomb is, a US Navy Frogman platoon attacks Emilio Largo's men, while Bond runs after Largo in his yacht and flying saucer.
