Fen is a minor character in the Netflix animated series The Dragon Prince. He is a liutenant of the Standing Batalion, who helps in guarding the border between Xadia and the Human Kingdoms.

He is voiced by Sam Vincent, who also voiced Lloyd Garmadon in Ninjago, Edd in Ed, Edd n Eddy, and Krypto from Krypto the Superdog.

History[]

At some point in his life, Fen joined the Standing Battalion, and started helping in protecting the Breach between Xadia and the Human Kingdoms. After Gren was captured by Viren, Fen became Amaya's interpreter and right-hand during that time. One day, while looking at the Breach, Amaya asked Fen if they had searched for the outpost of the sunfire elves, with Fen replying that they did and didn't found any.

After noticing a smoke signal that was usen to prove that the outpost of the sunfire elves was secured, Amaya didn't believe it and ordered Fen to order a group of soldiers to investigate the outpost. After getting to the outpost, Fen questions why the outpost would be abandoned even though the signal had just been sent.

A soldier would then appear, and Fen told him that the signal was late and asked where were the other soldiers. The soldier then responded that the soldiers went on patrol and that he lost notion of time. When the other soldiers where about to leave, Amaya noticed that the soldier was about to get shot by an arrow, so Amaya saved him.

They then notice that it was a trap made by the sunfire elves, who had surronded them. This results in a fight, where Fen and the other soldiers are able to survive and escape the outpost. Several days later, Fen suggested to Amaya that they should gather the batalion and evacuate the border, given that the sunfire elves had already taken over the outpost on the xadian side of the border and that they would be unable to defend the border when the elves attacked.

A soldier would then appear and say that they found someone, with it later being revealed to be Gren. While Amaya was gald to see him, Fen was angered at the fact that there were no reinforcements, since the batalion requested them many times to Lord Viren, with Gren then informing them that Viren was arrested for treason.

Amaya then told Fen that they should destroy the Breach to stop the sunfire elves from getting into the Human Kingdoms. After wiring the barels filled with gunpowder, with Fen giving Amaya the cable to ignite the barrels and destroy the Breach. However, when they were about to ignite the barrels, the leader of the sunfire elves Janai appeared and cut off the cable.

In order to stop the sunfire elves, Amaya went to fight Janai and blow up the Breach directly, and while Gren told her that she wouldn't survive, she signed him before going to fight Janai. Fen then asked what she said, with Gren saying that she said that the rest of the soldiers would survive.

When Gren tried to go save Amaya, Fen tried to stop him out of worrying about his safety, although to no avail. The Breach was then destroyed by Amaya, although both Gren and Amaya were able to survive, but they ended up getting seperated. After the events of the battle of the Storm Spire, Fen became a supporter of the elf-human union, even becoming friends with a Sunfire Elf warrior named Ravna.

He had asked a soldier from Katolis to help them in battling a group of Sunfire Elves named the Dawnbringers who were attacking near the border, with him being annoyed by their lateness. After the Dawnbringers' leader, Saranar, was killed and the remainings of the group were being taken down, Fen decided to allow the soldier to do whatever they wanted and only report back to him in case of something important, as he was tired of the constant stress he was going through due to always receiving news from the soldier and other people.

Two years later, Fen went to the castle of Katolis, and under Soren's orders, went to the dungeon to feed Viren, who had recently been arrested, with Soren refusing to initially talk to him due to being angered by how Viren treated him for most of his life and wanted to avoid talking with his father.

Trivia[]

  • The reason why the show's writing team decided to call him Fen was because they liked to name him "Fake Gren", which resulted in them combining the two words and giving him his name.
