Biography[]
Military Service[]
Alex V. Johnson was born in 1988 in the United States to unknown parents, and later joined the United States Marine Corps. He served in Force Recon, later meeting Keegan P. Russ, and the two joined Task Force: STALKER, better known as the Ghosts. Alex and Keegan joined under the command of Captain Gabriel Rorke, Lieutenant Elias Walker and Sergeant Thomas Merrick. In addition, Johnson was given the nickname "Ajax" by the Ghosts or by the Marine Corps, and reached the rank of private first class.
Operation: Return to Sender[]
“ | Hold on! | „ |
~ Ajax to his teammates as the helicopter crashes. |
Ajax was part of Operation: Return to Sender, where the Ghosts were tasked with killing the Federation's leader, General Diego Almagro. Rorke managed to convince the president to allow him and his team to go on an operation to kill Almagro, who had ordered to kill all US-born citizens in Caracas, Venezuela. Ajax joined Rorke, Walker and Merrick on fighting against the Federation, but failed to stop Almagro from destroying the dam. Ajax and the team survived the flooding, and managed to find Almagro trying to escape via a helicopter. Walker succeeded in killing Almagro, but the helicopter proceeded to crash.
Ajax managed to escape along with Walker and Merrick after Rorke's fall, which would lead to him being tortured by the Federation. Afterward, Ajax was promoted to the rank of sergeant at an unknown time, as Merrick was promoted to lieutenant and Walker became the commanding officer of the Ghosts. Ajax's location is unknown when the Federation used ODIN to destroy California, but he was later sent into No Man's Land to spy on the Federation.
Call of Duty: Ghosts[]

~ Ajax to Rorke. |
While in No Man's Land leading the STALKER unit with Chris "Torch" Greene and Riddian "Grim" Poe, Ajax was captured by Rorke, who revealed himself to be alive and attempted to interrogate Johnson. Elias' sons, David "Hesh" and Logan Walker, and their pet dog Riley witnessed Rorke taunt Ajax by shooting him with an unloaded handgun. After toying with him, Rorke ordered his men to take Ajax and move everything to "Firebase Charlie", stating that "Operation Homecoming" would later commence.
Death[]
In "Struck Down", Ajax is seen being tortured by the Federation, and later gave the soldiers the middle finger before being knocked out. Ajax was then moved to a new location to be tortured by Rorke, where he divulged the location of the Ghosts' Las Vegas safehouse. When Logan and the team reach Ajax, a Federation stabs him in the stomach with knife, mortally wounding him. Ajax tells Merrick Rorke is targeting the Ghosts, but succumbs to his wounds as Keegan holds him.
