Who has time for girly things like that?
~ Ashley.

Ashley is a major character in the WarioWare series. She is a witch-in-training who lives in a haunted house at the edge of Diamond City along with her partner, a little demonic imp named Red.

She was voiced by Ayaka Fukuhara in the Japanese version, Jean Nishida in WarioWare: Touched!, Ann Lin in WarioWare: Smooth Moves, and Erica Lindbeck in WarioWare Gold onwards in the English version.

Appearance[]

Ashley is a witch girl that has black hair in two long pigtails, red eyes, and wears a golden crown. She has a red dress with a yellow stripe at the bottom, and at the top she has an orange necktie with a yellow skull design. She wears two black socks, as well as red shoes with a yellow strip. She also wields a gold wand with a red gem in it.

Personality[]

Everyone... I hate you.
~ Ashley's response to comments made by her coworkers on her blog entry.

Ashley's demeanor is characterized by her irritability, moodiness, and tendency to be reserved. Moreover, she may frequently exhibit a short fuse, easily losing her temper. In addition to these traits, Ashley also possesses a noticeable ego, which is prominently showcased in her theme song. Furthermore, she occasionally demonstrates bouts of laziness, often relying on Red to handle chores like laundry and even going as far as instructing him to write her blog post.

Despite her apparent aloofness and emotional distance, Ashley's behavior can be attributed to her shyness and feelings of isolation. This can be observed in both WarioWare: Touched! and Game & Wario, where Ashley intentionally avoids participating in the lively celebratory dances with her WarioWare colleagues during the end-of-game party. Furthermore, when her coworkers take the time to leave comments on her blog entry, Ashley responds with a straightforward statement conveying her disdain for everyone.

Most of the time, she tends to keep her distance and maintain a reserved demeanor. However, every once in a while, she reveals a more gentle and compassionate side, which is particularly evident in her selfless act of offering to rescue the demon realm from the grips of hunger under the tyrannical rule of Lord Hum Gree in the game WarioWare Gold.

Despite her apparent resentment, it becomes evident that Ashley yearns for companionship. Her theme song, Game & Wario character card, and trophy description all emphasize her desire to have more friends. In WarioWare Gold, there are instances where Ashley begins to open up. During the Potluck Gang stage, she is shown playing cards with the other characters, indicating a newfound willingness to engage with her peers. In the concluding cutscene of this stage, her blushing face suggests that she genuinely enjoyed her time with the others. In a "character trailer" released after the game's launch, Ashley is visibly moved when invited by her WarioWare colleagues to participate in trick-or-treating with them. Her microgame theme in WarioWare: D.I.Y.. and WarioWare: Get It Together! revolves around food, and her Rank B character cards in Gold state that she is a voracious eater. One of her character cards mentions that she particularly enjoys the scent of fried mandrakes, but she doesn't like sweet and sugary food.

Biography[]

WarioWare: Touched![]

Ashley's collection of microgames, known as "Total Drag," encompasses a series of interactive challenges that require players to tap and drag various objects. To enhance the overall experience, Ashley's theme song resonates in the background, amplifying the lyrical aspect of her stage.

As they step outside, they are taken aback by the sight of Orbulon, who is experiencing some unfortunate mishaps. Orbulon's Oinker, a peculiar transportation device, has crashed due to a sudden and intense lightning storm. It is at this moment that fate brings Orbulon into Ashley and Red's path. Overall, this extended version of the opening cutscene in Ashley's stage not only provides a more detailed account of the events but also emphasizes the comedic elements and character dynamics between Ashley, Red, and Orbulon. Concerned for her friend's well-being, Red approaches Ashley and inquires about her state of mind. Ashley, still fuming from the encounter, expresses her frustration by revealing that Orbulon is actually the missing ingredient she needs to complete her potion. This revelation not only adds a touch of humor to the situation but also hints at the eccentric and quirky nature of Ashley's character. In an unexpected turn of events, Orbulon accidentally bumps into Ashley, causing her to unleash her pent-up anger. Recognizing his mistake, Orbulon quickly realizes that he should retreat from the fiery redhead's wrath. He swiftly scurries away, hoping to escape the consequences of his unintentional actions. In the initial cutscene of Ashley's stage, viewers are treated to a humorous scene where Ashley is diligently trying to concoct a magical potion. However, much to her dismay, her efforts end in failure as the potion doesn't turn out as expected. Frustrated and determined, Ashley decides to take a break from her magical experiments and ventures out of the mansion alongside her loyal friend Red.

Red offers to capture Orbulon, but his efforts are unsuccessful. As a result, he approaches Ashley and humbly asks for her forgiveness. In a surprising turn of events, Ashley not only grants Red her forgiveness but also devises a cunning plan to utilize him as the key ingredient for her magical potion.

WarioWare: Smooth Moves[]

Ashley decides to use Red as her magical wand as she attempts to cast a spell. She is currently on a level known as "The Loquacious Spell Book," where Ashley's goal is to enchant a potted plant. However, her initial attempt fails, leading to the sprout transforming into a mere daisy instead. Nonetheless, Ashley's luck takes a turn when a spell book with a skull on its cover unexpectedly comes to life and approaches her. This enchanted book offers its assistance to Ashley, presenting an opportunity for her to retry the spell. Intrigued, Ashley accepts the book's help and together they embark on completing the level. As the player progresses, they witness Ashley making another attempt at the spell, this time with the guidance of the sentient spell book. To her astonishment, the potted plant grows into an enormous Venus flytrap that bursts through the roof, creating a spectacle to behold. While Red, the magic wand, becomes frightened by this unexpected outcome, Ashley herself remains calm and wears a satisfied smile on her face.

Incorporating various side quests and challenges, Ashley's stage in WarioWare: Smooth Moves not only progresses the main storyline but also introduces exciting new forms, namely the "Big Cheese," "Thumb Wrestler," and "The Discard." These forms offer unique gameplay mechanics and add depth to the overall gaming experience. Upon successfully conquering this stage, players are rewarded with the unlockable minigame known as Can Shooter, providing them with even more entertaining content to explore and enjoy.

WarioWare: D.I.Y.[]

Ashley stars in a film offers a unique insight into her personal life as she is seen managing her very own mask store. The expression on her face as she tends to her store is a reflection of the quantity of masks available. If the inventory is relatively low, Ashley's countenance may appear normal or even slightly disappointed due to the limited selection. However, when her mask store is brimming with a vast array of options, Ashley's face lights up with a radiant smile, signifying her delight and satisfaction. The intricate details and captivating moments within "Magical Witch Ashley" create a truly immersive experience for the audience. From the suspenseful interactions between Ashley and Red to the breathtaking visuals of shooting stars and the nuances of her mask store, the film promises to transport viewers into a world filled with wonder and enchantment. On the other hand, when the player successfully conquers a difficult microgame, the magical ambiance of the movie intensifies as mesmerizing shooting stars gracefully streak across the night sky. These wondrous celestial displays serve as a testament to Ashley's exceptional skills and prowess. Ashley takes on a lead role in a captivating and enchanting movie titled "Magical Witch Ashley" where she shares the screen with her co-star, Red. Throughout the film, there are captivating scenes that capture their attention as they gaze up at the vast expanse of the sky. However, in instances where the player fails to complete a challenging microgame, Ashley cunningly turns towards the audience while donning a mysterious mask, playfully scaring poor Red.

Ashley, accompanied by Jimmy T., 9-Volt, Orbulon, and Mona, made the decision to part ways with WarioWare, Inc. and instead sought opportunities at Diamond Software. The exact reasons behind their departure remain undisclosed, leaving room for speculation that Diamond Software may have enticed them with promising financial compensation.

Game & Wario[]

In this thrilling adventure, Ashley takes on the role of the host in her very own minigame. As the game begins, we are treated to an enchanting opening cutscene where Ashley is engrossed in a captivating book. Little does she know that this book holds a magical secret within its pages. Suddenly, her eyes widen as she stumbles upon a mesmerizing picture page, depicting a multitude of mischievous monsters. Driven by curiosity, Ashley decides to take matters into her own hands and cast a spell, hoping to transport herself into the fantastical world of the monsters. However, fate has a different plan in store for her. Unbeknownst to Ashley, her spell backfires, and she finds herself whisked away into an entirely different page, one that is whimsically themed around delectable candies and mouthwatering sweets. While this unexpected turn of events brings sheer joy to her companion, Red, Ashley's reaction is far from pleasant. In fact, she is consumed by fury, as she desperately longs to return to the familiar world she came from. Determined to find a way out of this sugary predicament, Red, ever the loyal friend, decides to use his magical abilities to transform himself into a trusty broom. With Ashley riding aboard, they embark on a daring quest to escape the clutches of the enchanting candy world and find their way back home.

The minigame is designed to be similar to a shoot'em up game, where the player takes control of Ashley and maneuvers her by adjusting the angle of the GamePad. The main objective of the game is to gather magic orbs and presents in order to increase the player's score, all while shooting down cookies and other obstacles that come their way. If Ashley gets hit too many times, she becomes upset, and the player must soothe her by gently patting her on the head through the GamePad screen in order to continue playing. Apart from this particular minigame, Ashley also makes appearances in other parts of the game. For example, in the Bowling minigame, she can be seen as one of the pins. Additionally, she is the central character in the 13th Mona Superscoop capsule, where Mona shares a photo she took of Ashley joyfully flying on her broom at night. It was a surprise for Mona to see Ashley in such high spirits. Moreover, within the Artsy Call Code, there is a chance that one of the randomly generated paintings will feature a portrait of Ashley.

The third Miiverse Sketch Masterpiece Collection video puts a spotlight on her as the main theme. This particular video showcases various pictures created using the game's Miiverse Sketch mode. Furthermore, she takes on the role of the host in the tenth installment of the series. This specific video revolves around the theme of skeleton drawings.

WarioWare Gold[]

In the opening cutscene, we witness Ashley's swift action of ending the call with Wario as soon as he reaches out to inform her about his latest get-rich-quick plan.

The narrative of Ashley's tale commences with her successful invocation of a formidable demon by the name of Gahrumble within the confines of her opulent mansion. In the wake of this accomplishment, Red, an acquaintance of Ashley, extends heartfelt felicitations, all the while discovering through conversation that their newfound demonic visitor has been enduring an extended period of fasting, owing to the voracious appetite of a ravenous demon known as Hum Gree, who has been relentlessly devouring all available sustenance within the demon realm. Driven by an unwavering determination, Ashley resolves to embark upon a perilous journey into the treacherous depths of the demon realm, with the sole aim of vanquishing Hum Gree and restoring harmony to this chaotic domain.

Ashley successfully overcomes the demon by casting a powerful spell that transforms Hum Gree into a lovable and harmless creature, resembling a cute and fluffy white version of himself. With her victory secured, Ashley swiftly teleports back to the comfort of her lavish mansion. In the various stages of the game, Ashley's microgames ingeniously incorporate the use of gyro input, much like the innovative gameplay found in WarioWare: Twisted!. Embracing a theme of enchanting fantasy, Ashley's character and challenges within the game take players on a whimsical journey filled with magic and wonder.

Later on in the game, Ashley makes her presence known in the Potluck Gang's Ultra League group. In this particular scenario, she joins Red, Orbulon, 9-Volt, 18-Volt, Dribble, Spitz, Mike, and 5-Volt on an exciting camping trip. As the gang immerses themselves in the great outdoors, Ashley engages in a lively game of cards with her companions. As the stage reaches its conclusion, the mischievous Dribble playfully suggests the idea of including Wario in their next adventure, causing Ashley's cheeks to flush with a mix of bashfulness and curiosity. Drawing closer towards the end of the game, Ashley, alongside the rest of the crew, makes a heartfelt appearance in a bid to convince Wario to share the tournament's winnings.

In the exciting minigame called Pumpkin Panic, players get the chance to step into the shoes of the fearless Ashley. From an overhead viewpoint, players take control of Ashley as she valiantly defends a field filled with precious pumpkins from hordes of mischievous mandrakes.

WarioWare: Get It Together![]

In the opening cutscene, viewers are introduced to Ashley as she engages in the intricate art of potion brewing alongside her partner, Red. Unfortunately, their peaceful moment is abruptly disrupted by the mischievous actions of none other than Wario himself. As a consequence of his reckless behavior, Ashley, along with the entire ensemble of hardworking employees at WarioWare, Inc., finds themselves unexpectedly transported into the captivating realm of the game.

Ashley stands out among all the characters in the game, as she possesses her very own distinctive stage known as the Food stage. Unlocked only upon the successful completion of Kat & Ana's Nature stage, this delightful and captivating stage is exclusive to Ashley. It is worth noting that Ashley is the sole character in the game who originates from a different universe, as she does not hail from WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$! like the rest of the cast.

However, as soon as Ashley becomes aware of Wario and his gang's presence, her expression changes abruptly, transitioning from amusement to a state of indifference. She nonchalantly brushes off their arrival, clearly uninterested in their presence. Wario, ever the opportunist, sees this as a chance to expand his gang and attempts to recruit Ashley into their mischievous fold. Fueled by both her pride and the challenge presented by Wario's dismissive comment, Ashley's determination ignites. In a bold move to prove him wrong and show her worth, she fearlessly leaps onto the stage, ready to demonstrate her skills and prove that she is an indispensable asset, with or without Wario and his gang. But Ashley, being a fiercely independent character, swiftly rebukes Wario's advances, firmly refusing to join his gang. She makes it abundantly clear that she has absolutely no reason or desire to align herself with their shady activities. In response, Wario, never one to back down, arrogantly retorts that they don't need her anyway, underestimating her abilities and the value she could potentially bring to their team. During the pre-stage cutscene, Wario and his gang find themselves confronted with a rather prominent display of corruption near the entrance of Ashley's stage. This discovery immediately grabs their attention and they quickly make their way towards the source. As they approach, they spot Ashley, the enigmatic character known for her witchcraft, seemingly unfazed by the malfunctioning game bug that has affected her stage. Her face bears a mischievous smirk, almost as if she finds the whole situation amusing.

In the captivating cutscene of Ashley's stage, we find ourselves transported to the dining room where Ashley and Red are growing increasingly famished, their stomachs grumbling in protest. A peculiar twist of fate causes Ashley's mind to play tricks on her, as she starts to envision Red's head bizarrely transforming into a succulent hamburger. Astonishingly, the thought of devouring her companion even briefly crosses her mind. Just as this surreal scene unfolds, chaos erupts within the mansion as a horde of menacing mandrakes invade the premises. In a surprising turn of events, Red undergoes a remarkable metamorphosis, morphing into Ashley's wand. Harnessing the newfound power bestowed upon her, Ashley valiantly fights back against the onslaught of mandrakes. Utilizing her mastery of spells, she deftly casts enchantments that miraculously transmute the menacing creatures into delectable culinary delights. After successfully vanquishing the mandrakes and triumphantly clearing her stage, Ashley emerges as a force to be reckoned with. With an air of nonchalance, she casually joins the rest of the gang, uttering a dismissive yet intriguing statement, "Whatever," leaving her newfound comrades intrigued and eager to uncover the enigmatic depths of her character.

Upon finishing the Anything Goes stage, Ashley and her colleagues from WarioWare, Inc. find themselves back in the real world, only to be faced with the task of pursuing Wario. It becomes evident that Wario's inadequate programming is responsible for the predicament they experienced. However, Wario quickly draws attention to the fact that Red, Master Mantis, and Lulu are left stranded in the virtual game world. Hence, without delay, they all embark on a mission to rescue their comrades.

Ashley effortlessly soars through the skies on her trusty broomstick, gracefully maneuvering her way through various challenges. With a simple press of a button, she unleashes a magical projectile from her wand, aiming it towards her intended target with precision. The unique blend of unrestricted movement and attacks in all directions makes Ashley a formidable force, capable of conquering almost any microgame effortlessly. Her expertise lies in swiftly and effectively compelling objects in motion to accelerate, achieving optimal results. However, it is important to note that her constant barrage of projectiles may prove to be less efficient when faced with a multitude of objects, potentially causing desired targets to evade her grasp in certain microgames.

WarioWare: Move It![]

Ashley is introduced as one of the valued members of the WarioWare, Inc. team, specifically selected by Wario himself to join him on the exciting adventure to the island.

Other Media[]

Super Mario Maker[]

She is one of the unlockable Mystery Suits for Costume Mario in Super Mario Maker. Ashley says, "Hocus Pocus!" whenever the Mystery Mushroom is grabbed. She rides on her broom when she's climbing and swimming, and the death and stage completion jingles are replaced with the jingles from the Ashley minigame from Game & Wario.

Waiwai! Wario[]

Ashley is the last WarioWare, Inc. employee that is summoned by Mona to get Wario to keep his promise. However, they are unable to approach Wario due to his fart cloud. In order to wake him up, Ashley stabs Wario in the bottom using a voodoo doll.

Rhythm Heaven Megamix[]

Ashley and Red appear in the Challenge Train course "Wario... Where?", which has Ashley replace the girl from the original version. The objective of the game is to make Ashley tap dance with two monkeys by following their instructions. A stuffed doll of Ashley also appears on the museum curator's desk, further emphasizing her presence in the game.

Nintendo Badge Arcade[]

Ashley appears in Nintendo Badge Arcade, featured in various panels. She is part of the WarioWare panels along with the rest of the series cast. Ashley can be found in one of Nikki's panels, the Yokai Watch set, and the Splatoon set.

Ashley also has her own panels for Halloween, Christmas, New Year, and Valentine's Day, where she is depicted wearing different themed outfits. In addition to the panels, a set of Home Menu screen icons featuring Ashley was released.

Furthermore, there is a set of badges that parody The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, which includes Ashley and other WarioWare characters. One of the badges portrays Ashley dressed as Link, holding the Deku Mask.

Crazy Galaxy[]

Ashley was one of the protagonists in the fake game Crazy Galaxy during the April Fool's Day event for 2017 in Nintendo Badge Arcade. Here, she is depicted older than she is in the WarioWare series. The game's plot description states that Ashley and the other protagonists are sent to the other end of the universe due to an accident in "astronaut school." They must then travel through space, encountering and fighting aliens along the way, in order to return home.

Tetris 99[]

Ashley makes an appearance in Tetris 99 during the 24th Maximus Cup. She is represented by the "Z" tetromino.

Ashley no Halloween Night[]

In the comic strip, Ashley is initially shown sleeping on Halloween night. However, she suddenly levitates into the air and undergoes a transformation, changing into a more conventional witch attire. At the same time, Ashley's Creepy Crew arrive at her home and knock on her door. Ashley joins her friends, and together they venture out into the night.

Barbara & Ashley[]

Ashley is hired by Barbara to perform at her Live Club. She is tasked with singing in front of a cheering audience, which includes Red and characters from Rhythm Heaven Megamix. However, Ashley struggles with stage fright and finds it difficult to perform. Despite Barbara's hopes of Ashley making her rich, Ashley forgets the lyrics to the song and falls asleep on stage, much to Barbara's disappointment.

Super Smash Bros.[]

Super Smash Bros. Brawl[]

Ashley appears in Super Smash Bros. Brawl as an sticker who increases the Peach and Zelda's magic attacks, also her theme song appears in the WarioWare stage in both English and Japanese language.

Super Smash Bros. 4[]

In Super Smash Bros. for 3DS and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, Ashley appears as assist trophy who conjure an purple cloud with random effects, she also appears as an collectionable trophy, her Mii costume for the Mii Swordfighter was added in the final wave.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate[]

In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Ashley returns as assist trophy and Mii costume. She also appears as an legendary-ranked support spirit who increases the user's final smash meter charge rate. Her spirit can be summoned using cores of Charlotte Aulin, Star Road and any neutral and support cores. Her spirit battle in the World of Light campaign is against a tiny Ridley and a Mii Swordfighter dressed just like Ashely, with the controls randomly reversing to make the fight difficult. Before the Mii appears, Ashley will first appear as hostile assist trophy at the floor of the WarioWare stage, forming a large purple cloud that slows, consistently damages, and gives a random status effect to the player. Virtually everything in the battle is a reference to Ashley. Ridley is a reference to her familiar, Red, and the reversed controls is a reference to her spellcasting. Instead of the normal music that plays in the background of WarioWare, Inc., a rearrangement of "Ashley's Song" from WarioWare: Touched! will play.

Power and Abilities[]

Ashley possesses an impressive repertoire of spells and potions that she can utilize. These spells, often referred to as "the darkest spells" in her theme song, showcase her proficiency in the mystical arts. Not only can she cast spells using a traditional wand, but she also possesses the unique ability to emit powerful magic blasts from her hand, as demonstrated in the Game & Wario installment. Despite the grandiose claims made in her theme song, it appears that Ashley's magical abilities may not be as exceptional as initially perceived. According to her character card in Game & Wario, she has a rather mediocre success rate of only 40% when it comes to successfully casting spells. This suggests that while she possesses immense potential and a varied skill set, her execution may sometimes fall short of expectations.

Powers[]

  • Transmutation: One of Ashley's favorite powers is her ability to transmute people and objects. She does this through firing magical beams and can transmutate multiple beings at once. She has turned legions of Mandrake into harmless pumpkins and is also stated to have turned her teacher into a spoon.
  • Teleportation: Ashley can handily teleport herself and others at will. Her teleportation was able to teleport herself from the Demon Realm back to her house, which means this is cross-dimensional teleportation as well.
  • Electrokinesis: Ashley has ability to shoot powerful lightning attacks from her hands, even without a wand. These electric bolts are incredibly fast, moving faster than Ashley's flight speed and have the capability to disintegrate objects, such as large living cookies in a single shot.
  • Telekinesis: Ashley also possesses natural telekinesis, and can use her telekinetic powers to levitate herself and manipulate objects with precision and control.
  • Longevity: It is stated that Ashley can live for 500 years.
  • Dimensional Travel: One of the most esoteric abilities in Ashley's arsenal is her ability to open vortexes which teleport herself and others into fictional worlds, including the spooky nightmare world or the sweet candy world. Ashley can use this to change up her environment or even just banish her opponents. Ashley can also leave these dimensions with her own magic and it will always drop her where the book the world originated from is.
  • Divine Protection: Ashley is guided by the Supreme Developer, who watches over Wario's crew and uses them if he needs help.
  • Size-Shifting: As shown in WarioWare: Touched!, Ashley can alter size and grow herself, others and objects to the size of buildings or shrink them to the size of a mouse.
  • Superform: When Ashley gets serious or angry, she enters into her superform, signified by her black hair turning a ghostly white color as she removes all restraint. In this form, Ashley becomes vastly physically stronger to the point she can casually coat the horizon in darkness just by getting mad. Similarly, all of her spells get a massive boost, gaining a much higher Area of effect and being able to almost instantly kill boss enemies.
  • Weather Control: Casually, Ashley has ability to cast and create storms. She can cast large storms or even create them as a side effect of her spells. These storms can move rapidly and cover the sky, bringing rain and other storm-related phenomena.
  • Photokinesis: One of Ashley's most notable abilities is her power to manipulate plant life. She can create and control gigantic carnivorous plant monsters, which can be larger than entire buildings, to fight alongside her. Additionally, she can also manipulate vines and create flowers.
  • Voodoo: Ashley's voodoo powers allow her to inflict forced empathy on to her foe, so long as she can summon or create a doll that looks vaguely like her victim. This has caused Wario to feel and experience pain and damage being done to another person and object, disregarding durability.
  • Purification: Ashley was able to purify the powerful demon Hum Gree, who had been corrupted by darkness into a being of unending gluttony, back into his original loving state.
  • Dark Zone: The Dark Zone creates a large area of magic that inflicts numerous random negative effects on the opponent. It can bury them in the ground, turn them invisible, slow down time, cause them to spatially move the opposite direction they intend, shrink them, and even invert the effects of things used within it, such as making healing cause damage.

Trivia[]

  • Ashley generally has a deeper and more monotone voice in the English dub compared to the Japanese version, where she sounds like a young child.
  • When Ashley was making her potion in WarioWare: Touched!, one of her ingredients was Nasty Garlic which appeared later in the game.
  • Stealthily, in WarioWare Touched, if you play Ashley's song on the Turntable toy, and speed up the record with the stylus, you will gradually hear, "I have granted kids to hell!" When asked about this, Nintendo said this was never intended and is just a "creepy coincidence".
  • Ashley does almost nothing at the end of the Microgame Mix and she and Red go to the Hawt House.
  • In the Japanese Smooth Moves website, Ashley orders Red to write her blog entry on the Japanese Smooth Moves website, possibly out of shyness. Ashley is not interested in blogs and asks Red to write it, who mentions that Ashley is lonely and has the characteristic of looking lonely. There is a picture of Ashley practicing magic in a dry riverbed, where she sees a family of monkeys and gets a far-away look in her eyes, possibly remembering her mother and father in her hometown.
  • She sleeps with a rabbit skeleton doll, though her theme song ironically claims that "she doesn't play with dolls".
  • Both her personality and her song are completely different in the Japanese version of the game. In the Japanese version Ashley struggles to make friends and she wants to have a party. In the English version she doesn't care much about her friends and when she finally finds someone who she likes, she threatens them instead of trying to be nice to them. The biggest examples are the changes done to the lyrics of the song, in the Japanese version they read "The sea of the night sky has plenty of stars, I am all alone, I want to be friends with everyone, what should I do?" while the English version reads "I'm a slave to my spells, and yes it's true, well, I don't have as many friends as you, but I think you're nice and maybe we should be friends! And if you say no you're toast.".
  • In WarioWare D.I.Y., it is implied that Ashley is an actress.
  • It's commonly said that Ashley is precisely 8/9/10-years old in Japanese but was changed to a teen internationally. Her age is ambiguous in Japanese, though her voice and speech patternsheavily suggests she's meant to be a little girl.
