Look out, world. Bebop and Rocksteady, coming to save ya!
~ Bebop
Yeah, we save some cats from trees, stop some muggings, and bingo! NEXT STOP: talk show appearances, sumptuous apartments, movie deals!
~ Bebop

Anton Zeck aka Bebop, is a major antagonist-turned-protagonist in the 2012 incarnation of Teenage Mutants Ninja Turtles cartoon. Formerly a master thief before being transferred to a warthog and forcibly enlisted in the Foot Clan until Shredder's death, Bebop and his frenemy become best friend Rocksteady were partners in crime and now they are superheroes.

He was voiced by J.B. Smoove.

History[]

During his career, Zeck accidentally shot Russian gun dealer Ivan Steranko's right eye, since then the two have been cold.

As Villain[]

In The Legend of the Kuro Kabuto, Zeck is sent by Steranko to steal Shredder's priceless helmet, the Kuro Kabuto as a sort of compensation for the loss of his eye. Successfully stealing the helmet at first, Zeck is quickly pursued by Shredder's mutant minions and then by the Turles Ninja who end up taking back the helmet while he fled in a helicopter.

In Serpent Hunt, Zeck and Steranko have been stuck in the Steranko hangar in New York for months due to the Kraang invasion. Knowing that Shredder is the only one who can get them out of town, the two criminals capture Shredder's adopted daughter now a mutant snake, Karai despite the interventions of the Ninja Turtles. During the exchange on the docks, the Ninja Turles allow Karai to escape, leaving Zeck and Steranko to be captured by Fishface and Rahzar then taken to Baxter Stockman's lab where Shredder decides to mutate them as punishment. For stealing the Kuro Kabuto, Zeck is thrown first into the mutagen tube and is transformed into a mutant warthog, followed by Steranko who is transformed into a mutant rhino.

Since their mutations, Zeck and Steranko have become Shredder's henchmen in exchange for their lives and have completed various missions for their new master, earning their nickname Bebop and Rocksteady from Mikey during their first mission. After numerous conflicts with the Turtles, the New York mutants, and the death of Super Shredder, Bebop was present when Shredder was resurrected by Kavaxas but cowardly fled with Rocksteady when the Demodragon spiraled out of control.

Broke and unemployed, Bebop settles with Rocksteady in the old shed until he discovers a newspaper ad for mutant rhino and warthog. They then meet Shredder and Krang from the 1987 universe at a restaurant and get hired.

As Hero[]

In The Big Blowout, Bebop and Rocksteady are upset that Shredder and Krang are treating them like servants. After finally being appreciated for their services, Shredder allows them to watch the destruction of the world. The two friends realize they don't want to destroy the world so they fight against Krang and destroy the rock minions. Bebop and Rocksteady then become super heroes instead of villains after they quit being henchmen.

Appearance[]

As Anton Zeck: Zeck is tall, very skinny and wears an energy-like suit with a purple visor and energy mohawk. He has brown eyes underneath the visor and lightened black skin.

As Bebop: Bebop's wardrobe is somewhat similar, but he has a pig-like face with the left tusk shorter than the right. The torso of his suit is broken apart on the front in a fashion resembling a vest, and the suit's chest, sleeves and hood are missing, leaving only their energy lines fused to his skin. He still wears the mohawk and visor.

Personality[]

But what do we wanna destroy the world for? We like the world! All we ever wanted was some paper and respect. Is that too much to ask?
~ Bebop

Anton Zeck normally talks in rap and body movements which he uses to distract his enemies. He also tends to show how slick he is when he steals and enters areas where he is supposed to steal something. He appears to have a complete disrespect for people's things due to being a burglar. He also seems to get hysterical in moments of stress, and when he is fighting he tends to to make noises and "dance". He also tends to complain a lot as seen when he has to eat roaches. He also thinks he is the "ladies man".

As Bebop, he is a little more serious and is shown to tease ladies he meets such as when he trips April. However, he describes his new name as "the dumbest name ever" and yells at anybody who addresses him by it. Just like Rocksteady, he may not be smart at times. After a few years of being martyred by Shredder and then treated only as an underling by the villains in 1987, Bebop ended up giving up his life as a villain.

Powers[]

As force to become mutant against his will to be warthog.

Enhanced Smell: His snout is strong enough to help out to tell where the Turtles could be.

Enhanced Strength: He has a small lack of strength that mostly comes from his Mohawk, but things get better when it enhances.

Intelligence and Communication: He is shown to have his intelligence as human and has retained it due to his mutation. He can still grunt and oink while talking.

Stamina and Endurance: He is able to take Rocksteady's heavy weight when his boss was falling from high altitude. Even from rolling to the truck and getting bodyslammed by Rocksteady again he was able to still flee showing his stamina.
