Hisirdoux "Douxie" Casperan is a major protagonist in the Tales of Arcadia franchise. He serves as a minor protagonist in the first installment, Trollhunters, a minor character in the second installment, 3Below, the main protagonist of the third installment, Wizards, and a major protagonist in the fourth and final installment, Trollhunters: Rise of the Titans.
He is a student who visits Arcadia Oaks-High and participates in the Battle of the Bands, a musical contest taking place at Arcadia, and works at several different jobs. Unknown to the public, he is Merlin's apprentice and adoptive son who is training to become a master wizard. After becoming a master wizard, he becomes a member of the Guardians of Arcadia and decides to protect and hide Nari from the Arcane Order to prevent them from opening the Genesis Seals to remake the Earth.
He is voiced by Colin O'Donoghue.
Biography[]
Background[]
Not much is known about his past. What is known, however, is that he was born during the 12th century during the Age of Merlin, when Sir Galahad and his knights attempted to execute him because magic is outlawed in Camelot. However, Merlin saved his life and took him in as his son as well as his apprentice. During his time as Merlin’s apprentice, Douxie helped him create the Amulet of Daylight.
At some point, Merlin started to have Douxie sweep the floors for him in his library, and Douxie enchanted his broom to do the sweeping for him because he was overwhelmed by the task he was given. Merlin told him that staffs are for those who have mastery over magic and magic is mastery over life, then reassures Douxie that once he can master his own life, he'll be able to master magic and not have to sweep any longer.
Douxie lived on to the 21st century and became a student of Arcadia Oaks Academy, the rival school of Arcadia Oaks-High, and has been preparing for the Battle of the Bands. He also became a responsible boy who works at various jobs, such as being a waiter at Benoit's French Bistro, an employee at GDT Arcane Books, and a guitarist for his band, Ash Disposal Pattern.
Trollhunters[]
Douxie visits Arcadia Oaks-High to tell the other students about the Battle of the Bands. Claire accidentally drops her textbooks, but he smiles and looks her in the eye before flirting with her, much to Jim's dismay. He invites them to enter the Battle of the Bands, though he claims that his band will still win.
