Daiji Igarashi is a squad captain of Fenix and the deuteragonist of Kamen Rider Revice. He is the younger brother of Ikki Igarashi, who transforms into Kamen Rider Revi.

When possessed by his inner demon Kagero, Daiji uses the Evil Driver with the Bat Vistamp to transform into Kamen Rider Evil. After regaining control of his body, he uses the same Driver to become Kamen Rider Live.

He is portrayed by Wataru Hyuga.

Biography[]

Daiji Igarashi was originally selected to receive the Revice Driver at the Fenix ceremony, only for it to be attacked by the Deadmans. After Hiromi Kadota tried to use the Revice Driver but only released his own inner demon as the Rex Deadman instead, Daiji attempted to use the Revice Driver next. However, having seen Hiromi try and fail, Daiji lost the confidence to use it and set it aside. The Driver was later given to Ikki by George Karizaki after he summoned his inner demon, who used it to transform himself and his demon into Kamen Riders Revi and Vice and fight off the Deadmans.

Daiji's inner demon Kagero later manifested within him and took control of his body to use him to steal the Lion Vistamp from George Karizaki's laboratory. Kagero then passed the Vistamp off to Masao Honda, a social media influencer who used it to summon the Lion Deadman.

After George Karizaki gave Daiji the new Driver he developed along with the Bat Vistamp, Kagero took control of Daiji again and used the driver and Vistamp to become Kamen Rider Evil. As Evil, Daiji interrupted the fight between Revice and the Deadmans to attack Revice, fighting him before disappearing just as mysteriously as he had appeared.

Daiji would later be possessed by Kagero again, who used him to travel to the Deadmans Base and ally with the Deadmans.

Kagero stayed in control of Daiji when the Igarashi family went on vacation to celebrate Yukimi's recovery, awaiting the moment to make his move and challenge Ikki. When Aguilera tried to kill Ikki by spiking his drink with poison, Kagero knocked the drink out of his hand before he could take a sip and went to confront Aguilera about it. Transforming into Evil, Kagero grabbed her by the neck and tossing her into her subordinates before warning her that Ikki was his to kill. As the Deadmans ran off, Evil was confronted by Hiromi as Kamen Rider Demons, but managing to fight him off before swiftly exiting the scene. Kagero then went to a bathroom and let Daiji out for a bit so he could mock him over being in control of his body. Later, as the other Igarashis were holding a celebration for Yukimi's recovery, Kagero finally made his move now the Igarashi family were at their happiest. After hitting Ikki to the ground, Kagero transformed into Kamen Rider Evil to fight his brother. Hiromi became Kamen Rider Demons and attempted to intervene, but Olteca and Julio assumed their Deadmen forms and held him off to give Revi and Evil a chance to battle it out. During the course of the fight between the two Riders, Evil revealed to Revi that he was a demon possessing his brother right as the two clashed, causing their Vistamps to fall out of both their Drivers. Revi picked up the Kong Vistamp and used it to transform himself and Vice into Revice Kong Genome, while Evil used the Bat Vistamp to become Evil Bat Genome.

Though Kagero did not defeat Revice, he was given a chance to "redeem" himself by Olteca, who gave him the Brachio Vistamp and sent him out to create another Deadman. Kagero approached a trio of phone scammers and forcibly created the Brachio Deadman from them in order to lure out Ikki so he could fight him again. During their confrontation, Ikki managed to defeat Evil, only for him to detransform and pretend to be Daiji again so Ikki would deliberately miss. Kagero then re-transformed and beat down Revi, forcing Ikki and Vice to retreat.

As Kagero continued to create Brachio Deadmen from his three hostages, Ikki showed up to confront him once more. During their confrontation however, Ikki was able to give Daiji the courage to resist Kagero. Daiji then retook control of his body and vanquished Kagero, detransforming from Evil. He would go on to transform into Kamen Rider Live using the TwoSiDriver and defeat the three Brachio Deadmen Kagero had summoned with his newfound power.

Becoming Holy Live[]

After the Igarashi siblings learned the truth about their father and their connection to Giff, Kagero surfaced within Daiji again and spoke to him, saying he know had enough strength to where he could potentially take over his body permanently. Possessing Daiji, Kagero approached George and Akemi as they were analyzing data from Giff and the Igarashi siblings and demanded a second TwoSi Driver from him. He then noticed the Crow Vistamp George had been working on and told him to hand that over as well. Kagero threatened Akemi, but despite this George refused to comply, as the Crow Vistamp had the potential to erase Live or Evil personally depending on who used it. However, Hideo Akaishi then entered and told George to give him both saying it would be yet another trial for Daiji to overcome and, should he fall, they could always employ Kagero in his place. Kagero then went to an abandoned warehouse and summoned Daiji from himself so they could have one last battle. The two assumed their respective Kamen Riders and began fighting, but as they battled Live noticed Kagero had become weaker, to which he admitted it was because of Daiji's kindness. Ikki then showed up with Shozo Irabu but decided not to intervene, believing it was something Daiji needed to sort out on his own and having full confidence in his brother that he would win. Daiji was eventually able to pound in Evil's face plate before finishing off Kagero, who handed him the Crow Vistamp before dying. With the Crow Vistamp in hand, Daiji became Kamen Rider Holy Live, permanently erasing Evil, and went on to challenge Kamen Rider Demons.

Fighting Akaishi[]

After Akemi Mikoshiba disappeared while investigating Akaishi, Daiji decided to conduct his own investigation with the goal of arresting Akaishi and exposing his ties to Giff. He eventually confronted Akaishi in his office, where he found a demoralized Akemi. Daiji tried attacking Akaishi, but Akaishi overpowered him each time he tried to punch him.

Daiji Igarashi and George Karizaki later formulated a plan to lure Akaishi into a trap by having the the Igarashi siblings attack Akaishi while he was demonstrating a transformation with the Demons Driver, allowing for four Kamen Riders at once to fight him. While meeting with George however, Akaishi called in Akemi to witness the transformation as well, before revealing he knew that it was a trap and that Daiji and his siblings were laying in wait for him. Daiji and his siblings then stepped out and revealed themselves to Akaishi, who explained his true past and goals to them. Akaishi declared that the only way for humanity to continue to survive was strategic regression into servants of Giff but Ikki responded that it wasn't Akaishi's place to decide, to which Akaishi retorted that he was the only one with the right to decide. Daiji then transformed into Holy Live to attack Akaishi, but Akaishi blew him out of his transformation with a single blast and left him injured on the ground. Ikki and Sakura then assumed their Kamen Rider forms to battle Akaishi, who created a portal to Giff's dimension and began summoning True Gifftarians to fight them. Midway through the fight, Vail appeared as well and joined in. While Vail and the True Gifftarians battled Revice and Jeanne, Akaishi approached Daiji, who declared that he would defeat him despite his injuries. To break Daiji's spirit, Akaishi called over Akemi and asked her to give her thoughts. Akemi stated that she saw no future for humanity without Giff. Akaishi then had Giff mutate Akemi into Giffdemos to add another player into the fight.

Despite this, Daiji refused to give up. When Akaishi delivered a press conference where he declared that the only way for humanity to survive would be to submit themselves to him, Daiji attempted to interrupt the speech and expose the truth on live television, but Akaishi had Giffdemos crash the conference and attack him. Akaishi then opened a portal to Giff, who vaporized the Fenix soldiers standing guard and destroyed Fenix's entire Skybase fleet, in order to demonstrate how it was hopeless to oppose him. It was then that the other Kamen Riders appeared to assist Daiji, but Vail and several True Gifftarians appeared in front of them to do battle. Daiji and his siblings were defeated, but Over Demons swooped in and rescued them.

After losing another fight against the Hell Gifftarian, Daiji began to have doubts that opposing Giff was the right thing to do. He confronted Akaishi again and accused him of being responsible for the Giff Junior attacks. Akaishi admitted to doing so, and revealed he was using the attacks to press people into getting stamped more to ensure their safety.

While his siblings were able to inspire people into standing up against Giff with their battles against Giff's demons Daiji had come to believe that humanity had no hope of opposing Giff and chose to take Akaishi's side, if reluctantly.

Serving Giff[]

When Weekend rose up in rebellion against Giff, Akaishi spoke with Daiji Igarashi in his office and asked what he intended to do. Daiji answered that he would force them to understand why they had no choice but to obey Giff. As he left, Daiji was approached by Vail, who suggested they form a partnership since they each lacked a demon and a host, but Daiji sternly refused. Daiji would eventually meet with Akaishi again, who stated that although more civilians were being admitted to ARARAT, too many were still choosing the wrong side. Daiji thus volunteered to go lead an attack on Weekend in order to shut down their shelter and escort everyone in it to ARARAT. With a horde of Giff Juniors, Daiji stormed the shelter, forcing his way through Hana and Tamaki and tossing Tasuke aside. Daiji attempted to persuade the civilians within the shelter to get stamped and go to ARARAT, but they refused and began yelling at and rebuking him. Ikki and Sakura then showed up and tried to reach out to Daiji, but Daiji ignored them and sent his Giff Juniors to attack them before transforming into Holy Live. Ikki and Vice became Revice Giffard Rex and dispatched the Giff Juniors before facing Holy Live and taking their confrontation outside. Ikki again attempted to talk with Daiji, but Daiji refused to listen and insisted that subservience to Giff was the only way for humanity's survival. Hana then intervened in her Kamen Rider form and battled Daiji so his older brother wouldn't have to, but Daiji was able to knock her away. As Daiji refused to listen to reason, Sakura became Kamen Rider Jeanne and began attacking him, but Ikki held her back and made one more attempt to reach out to his brother. Daiji again was not moved and prepared to fire his finisher at them, but Vice deflected it back at him and forced him out of his transformation. As Ikki, Vice and Sakura detransformed and went over to Daiji, Daiji got up and pointed his gun at them, only to be slapped by a heart broken Sakura, before Vail arrive to retreat Daiji to Akaishi.

As Daiji's condition without Kagero becomes worsen, he kills Akaishi after he sacrifice his immortality to destroy humanity before attempting to made a pact with Giff, but is intervened by Vice, at cost of the latter being captured by the demon lord. Following Genta and Vail's settlement between them, with the former is the victory as a new Rider Destream, then further reached by Hiromi's word when he temporarily return as Kamen Rider Demons, Daiji finally realize that he had been serving to destroy humanity instead of saving them, eventually revives Kagero and thus restores his spiritual balance between him and his demon, evolving into a singular Kamen Rider Evility Live.

Return to the Family[]

Following his return to the family, and by extend, the true righteous side, Daiji locates Orteca's whereabout, who was among of Giff's sealed sacrifice. Although he and his allies immediately arrest Orteca, due to being too dangerous, they discovered that Giff found a way to escape from his dimension, then used the cocoons which Orteca and the demon lord's other former sacrifices used to be sealed in his dimension to create parasites, and invading people's mind into removing their inner demons then kill their former human hosts. This forces Daiji and his allies to rush towards to save civilians from the parasites they spotted. Daiji and his allies eventually destroys Giff permanently, after Vice found the source of Giff's life force, and Sakura's inner demon, Lovekov evolves and fuse into Kamen Rider Invincible Jeanne. Despite the permanent defeat of Giff's army, they are unsure about the explosion left from Giff's death which remains in the sky might be a good sign or not.
