“ | My Psycho Powers come and go, so buck up! You'll shoot fire someday... Maybe. | „ |
~ Sie Kensou |
Sie Kensou is a character who first appeared in the SNK video game Psycho Soldier. He appears in The King of Fighters series as an active member of the Psycho Soldiers Team. Ever since his first appearance, he has always served as a comic relief character. At one point, developers described his psychic powers being similar to Koichi's powers in Babel II. His official nickname is The Young Rising Dragon.
He is voiced by Eiji Yano between The King of Fighters '94 and The King of Fighters XIII, and Yuto Kaname since The King of Fighters XIV in the Japanese version, and in the English version by Josh Keller in The King of Fighters XII.
Story[]
A young boy with psychic powers, Sie was adopted by Chin. Traveling together, they met Athena and founded the Psycho Soldiers. Sie fell madly in love with Athena, but she remains "just a friend". Sie temporarily lost his powers with the appearance of Bao, but he got them back when Bao was struck by the Zero Cannon. Kensou lives his life like any normal kid: reading "manga" (Japanese comics), and eating meat buns all the time. His first appearance was in 1987 in a game called Psycho Soldier, along with Athena (whom he is in love with).
Personality[]
Goofy, outgoing, and jovial, Kensou wants to live his young years to their fullest. He has a crush on Athena, but she chooses to ignore it and when every time he gathers the courage to confess his feelings to her, he is often cut off or interrupted. He sometimes gets too excited over trivial events, such as mistaking Chin for cheating on his wife (his master was really talking to Kula over the phone). He is sometimes known to be lazy as he shows his dislike for training.

Trivia[]
- Despite the fact that he is from China, his name is referred according to the Japanese readings. In fact, he should be named as "Chui Quanchong".
- In earlier incarnations, his victory poses often had "wardrobe malfunctions" with over-exaggerated poses. The food he sometimes eats before or during matches are baozi.
