Honoka Kosaka is the overall main protagonist of the idol anime series Love Live!. She is a 16-year old teenage girl and a second year in Otonokizaka High School. Her solo album is called "Honnori Honokairo!".

She is voiced by Emi Nitta in the Japanese version of the anime, and by Marieve Herington in the English dub.

Background

Honoka grew up in a Japanese sweets store called Homura owned by her family. The back of the shop is where she, her parents and younger sister, Yukiho live.

Ever since she was a little girl, she has been close friend with Kotori Minami and Umi Sonoda. Her friends made at school are Fumiko, Hideko and Mika. Like Eli Ayase, both her grandmother and her mother are graduates from Otonokizaka High School where she and her friends currently attend.

Personality

Honoka is unflinchingly optimistic and brave, never afraid to take risks or stand up for what she believes in. Looking on the bright side of things whenever she can, Honoka has endless bounds of energy and often takes it upon herself to cheer up her friends when they're feeling down. She also has a very strong will, never giving up or backing down on something that she sets her mind to achieve.
