The Bull Shark is the main protagonist of the 2020 action role-playing shark video game/Monster indie game predator of , Maneater. Although She on the cover of the game looks like a Great White, it’s actually an abnormally large female Bull Shark. The reason for this is because 2 out of 8 regions in Port Clovis are freshwater like Fawtick Bayou and Dead Horse Horse Lake, and the Bull Shark is the only shark that can swim in freshwater.
Appearance[]
Starting out as a 1.1 m (3 ft.) long pup and eventually growing into a megalodon measuring 9 m (30 ft.) in length, the Bull Shark is truly, nature's vicious killing machine. As the shark grows sharp into teen, adulthood, elder, and Mega, she will require evolution sets and abilities as it progresses through the game. There are three complete evolution sets. They include Bio-Electric, Shadow, and Bone.
The Bio-Electric set will make the shark appear blue along with fins, tail, and head as well as teeth. The electric body will allow the Bull to evade with an electric jump as the electric tail sends an electric shockwave to stun enemies and do more boat damage. Bioelectric Teeth can be used to give prey and other predators-like killer monsters/Creatures a mighty shock upon biting them. The sets are unlocked after defeating Port Clovis' top 10 bounty hunters.
The Shadow Body Monster set will make the shark appear dark purple with all of its parts. Shadow Teeth allows the shark to re-heal itself as it grabs on to prey and eats them. The shadow head can also provide some head protection during combat, especially with stronger predators. The Shadow Tail will create a wave of black venom, covering any animal and blinding them for a few seconds. The sets are unlocked after discovering landmarks in specific regions which they're located in.
The Bone-set is the strongest form of the Bull Shark. Every bone part provides the shark with a lot of protection during combat and makes it feel very powerful and resilient. Bone teeth works very effectively on stronger predators and prey, allowing it to thrash them more easily and Bone Tail packs a bigger punch during combat with other sharks, orcas, and Sperm Whales. The sets are unlocked after beating the Apex Predators.
While the fins, body, and teeth evolutions are unlocked as the shark reaches the teen and adult stages, the heads evolutions are locked until the shark has evolves to elder and Mega.
Personality[]
Like all bull sharks, the female Bull Shark's personality is based mostly on aggression, since bull sharks not only tend to have very aggressive behavior but are also said to be the deadliest and most aggressive sharks in the sea. Mostly it's for survival at the moment of birth. With the combination of high aggressiveness and the instinct for survival. This made the female Bull Shark the perfect killing machine. It will eventually become the ultimate apex predator.
Biography[]
The Bull Shark starts its life as a 1.1 m (3.3 ft.) long pup after her mother was caught by Scaly Pete and his son, Kyle Leblanc. After catching the mother, Scaly Pete cuts into its underbelly and discovers that the female is pregnant with a baby bull shark. Pete immediately uses his knife to create a scar on her back so when she grows up, Pete will spear her. Then in a moment of desperation, the pup immediately bites on Pete's right hand, shaking it violently off as she and the hand plummet into the waters of Fawtick Bayou, leaving Pete with one less hand. Once in the water, the shark eats Pete's hand as her journey from pup to mega begins.
In order for the Bull Shark to become a MEGA, she has to travel to all the regions surround Port Clovis, collecting Nutrient caches, finding landmarks, and fight Apex Predators to unlock different evolution sets. There are also 10 bounty hunters the shark can hunt to unlock new evolution parts. To lure the bounty hunters out, the shark must first raise her infamy level up by killing the incoming bounty hunters. With each Bounty Hunter killed, the harder it becomes to kill them. Many hunters will come with strong boats, better weapons, and more reinforcements. 7 out of the 8 regions of Port Clovis have an Apex Predator and they all provide more mutations for the shark, mostly the bone mutations. The first Apex Predators the Shark fights as it grows to Adult are, the Apex Barracuda (Level 10) in Dead Horse Lake, the Apex Mako (Level 15) in Golden Shores, Apex Alligator (Level 20) in Fawtick Bayou, and Apex Hammerhead (Level 21) in Sapphire Bay.
After taking out the first four Apex Predators, The Bull Shark will get its first chance to take on Scaly Pete as an adult. As the fight escalates, The Bull, using her pure shark skills (by removing her evolution mutation sets to fight Pete) smashes into the Cajun Queen as well as whip shooting explosive tanks back at it. Once the boat has taken enough damage, the shark will lunge on to the boat and try get at Scaly Pete and Kyle. As Scaly Pete tries to fight the shark, the Bull rips off his left leg while Kyle gets a jerry can to douse the shark and light it on fire. As the shark desperately tries to get back into the water, the boat's gasoline tank is exposed and the fire has touched it. Kyle tries to put the fire but the boat explodes, launching Pete into the air. This leaves him with a big burn mark on his left side as he clings to a piece of wreckage. He calls out for Kyle but he's nowhere to be seen. It's revealed that Kyle was killed in the explosion since he was close to the gas tank. As the shark swims by, Scaly Pete vows to get revenge for the death of his son. The explosion also leaves the shark with a blast wound on the left side of her head, which leaves her half blind.
After the second encounter with Scaly Pete, the Bull Shark swims to Prosperity Sands where it continues its carnage to grow up into an elder. After gathering enough nutrient caches, discovering landmarks, and taking out the remaining bounty hunters, The Bull has now become an elder and trying out new maxed out evolutions preparing for the next challenges she faces. At max level 30, the shark has now become a MEGA Shark, measuring 9 m (30 ft.) long and ready to tough out any creature that comes at it. This was put to the test while taking on the Apex Great White, which is at level 29. After a few good thrashes and hits, the Bull Shark has defeated the Great White and move on to complete objectives in the Caviar Key.
In the Caviar Key, the now MEGA Bull Shark continues her reign collecting caches, discovering its landmarks, and controlling the animal and human populations. Caviar Key is home to Orcas, which the Bull must learn how to fight because The Apex Orca, named Mahana lives in the region at the Marine Mammal Park. The Shark gets the opportunity to learn how to fight orcas during one of the hunted target objectives and one of the population controls where one orca along with a Mako swim with a huge group of turtles. The other orca the shark must take out is an escaped captive orca named Kasanita who has escaped the wrath of Mahana after she developed a lot of aggression after working at the Marine Show for 8 years, which lead to the deaths of the trainers who worked there and and unknown number of orcas who performed with her. After escaping, Kasanita went out into the wild, hunting for sharks for their livers cause its her favorite comfort food. For years in Captivity, Kasanita endured the same boring meal of frozen herring and fish fingers, so now in the wild again, she's willing to get her taste of shark liver again. She would attempt to get her favorite food after spotting the MEGA Bull Shark coming for her. Kasanita's attempt to get her shark liver fails after the shark defeats her, proving that no orca would scare the MEGA Shark.
With every objective in Caviar Key complete, The MEGA shark swims to the Marine Mammal Park where she battles against Mahana, the Apex Orca. At level 40, the Apex Orca is the 1st large Apex Predator and one of the hardest to fight. It's impossible for the Mega Shark to perform a Thrash Attack because any animal at higher level than MEGA (Level 30), can't be grabbed onto and thrashed around. Against all odds, the Mega Shark defeats the large Orca and is rewarded with the Bone Head.
In The Gulf, The Bull Shark battles with the last and largest Apex Predator, the Apex Sperm Whale (which is a reference to Herman Melville's Moby Dick) and scores the Subliminal Evasion Organ Mutation. It will also deem the Bull Shark, the true Apex Predator of the sea. Meanwhile, Scaly Pete is making some adjustments to his father's World-War II Era PT 522 boat which he'll use to fight the shark. He's super angry after his son's death and vows to to catch the Shark once and for all.
After equipping with Hearty, Brute Muscles, and Reinforced Cartilage organs, as well as removing the mutation sets, The MEGA Bull Shark prepares to battle Pete and get revenge for her mother's death. Once in the Gulf, the final fight begins. As the shark batters the refurbished WW2 PT 22, she out swims torpedoes and grabs them to launch back at the boat. Once the boat has taken full damage, Scaly Pete walks up to the bow to wait for the shark's appearance. With a mighty lunge, The MEGA shark lands on the boat and furiously bites on Pete to finish him off. After being thrown near the explosives, Pete grabs the remote and says his final words, "Laissez les bons temps rouler!". In slow motion followed by freeze screen, the MEGA shark goes in for the kill as Pete presses the button and the whole boat explodes, killing Pete.
As for the Bull Shark, she survived the explosion and has returned to the nearest Grotto to seek shelter after the battle. With her revenge complete, the shark can now explore more of Port Clovis, keep growing, and battling other marine animals.
On August 31, 2021, the shark will embark on a new adventure exploring the Plover Island Complex (commonly referred as Site P) where it will acquire new evolution mutations, grow even bigger, and face new Apex Predators in the Truth Quest DLC.
Truth Quest[]
After the MEGA Bull Shark survived and finally killed Scaly Pete and avenged her mother’s death and collecting all the remaining license plates and nutrient mutagen cashes, she continues her reign of terror in the whole of Port Clovis for a year, until one day, she scent something. After Trip Westhavan introduces him self after starting up the rebooted series of Maneater, this time, on his account in ViewTube, and finding out the mutations that the shark obtained came from the Plover Island Complex or “Site P” for short, and the new adventure begins for the truth, as Truth Quest. Something big she smelled because of her behavior, she realized it was a new creature came to Port Clovis and this would threaten her apex status, so she goes back to her grotto in the Gulf and put on the Shadow set and set off to the chase after the creature, speeding through the rings and follow the radiation trail leftover from the creature. After the final chase, she lost the creature’s trail, but what else she scent is the government boat, which is her target to destroy. Heading towards to the boat, and starting to kill the crew off-board, she was surprised that the boat is not part of the USCG(United States Coast Guard), but all black color and had the mark on both sides of the boat, same for the shooters which are not Pete’s remaining hunters but rather the mysterious black ops soldiers which are the NWO(Naval Wildlife Operations) forces instead, which the MEGA Bull Shark has to kill. After wiping out the crew, that alert some of Pete’s hunters but most of them are NWO troops who are targeting her, so the shark had to escape until she saw the mysterious tower being deployed in Caviar Key by the NWO troops stationed at the beach. After the tower and all NWO troops were wiped out in Caviar Key, the MEGA Bull Shark sets off to Plover Island, and her new adventure begins.
Finally, after she arrived and following the trail of the NWO captured the creature and the markings of the communications tower, now her own reign and terror; as well the attack on the NWO base of operations had started. Before she can take out the NWO Command Boat patrolling the waters, she collected all landmarks which she unlocked the Atomic Head, as she started to collecting the Atomic set, she looked for the remaining nutrient cashes and license plates(except she can’t get the last one), as well killing one of Trip Westhaven’s Quest Watchers (Which they could be brainwashed by the NWO and now sent spying on the rest of Port Clovis, and maybe the MEGA Bull Shark doesn’t even trust humans as she kill and eat humans.), she finally started to kill the crew off the command boat, and destroyed it, she however alerted the whole base which the NWO placed a bounty on her for invading private military property. She escaped to the grotto in Site P, and rested there and waiting till the alarm is off. Before she started to terrorize and finding out what the NWO is hiding the creature, she decided to kill one of the NWO most recognizable higher ranking officials. First off, she started to hunt down the former US Navy helicopter pilot, and in order to do that, and for a long time, she cut down wave after wave of NWO troops, while equipped with her Shadow set, her increased speed and increased healing teeth, she became a deadly foe and started to become fearful to the NWO. After causing casualties on the NWO, the ex-US Navy helicopter pilot has arrived, in his SH-60 Seahawk who started to do his stunt in the intro, CPO T.J. Toffler. Eventually it became a little easy for the shark, so she grabbed bunch of canister bombs and tail whipped them at his Heli, and after that, the MEGA Bull Shark ate him finally. This leads to the NWO troops who are feared by the shark herself and the top high ranking officials are eager to kill her for trying to interrupt their plans.
So now, the MEGA Bull Shark is out to cause havoc on the NWO and find out what they’re hiding. First off, she destroyed the tower which is right behind, on top of her grotto, which is not that far, but danger is advised to her as NWO soldiers are stationed on the beach, and she was being careful. She managed to destroy the tower, but unfortunately, she caused unwanted attention, so she had to escape through the rings, as the NWO started chasing her, already put a bounty on her as well, but the MEGA Bull Shark successfully escaped from the NWO, continuing her own invasion against the “insectoids” while Trip Westhavan continued broadcasting his Truth Quest live stream in ViewTube. The shark started to terrorize the NWO troops again, but killing all of them on the beach, on the other side of the island. She alerted the whole base again, and now she started to kill multiple waves of NWO troops again and lured another NWO high ranking official. The first time that the MEGA Bull Shark saw the Naval Interceptor, and the one who commandeered it, who kissed it as his “girlfriend”, Lieutenant Ron Honeywell.
Along with Ron Honeywell, other ranking officials tried to capture or kill the shark including Commander Jocelyn St. Denis (Who is presumably the ground forces officer of the NWO) in the same SH-60 Seahawk as Toffler except fully armed with her troops inside, including a torpedo launcher which she can be a tough opponent and the blood thirsty killing, Captain Vic Mandrake in his tough Littoral Combat Ship, equipped with torpedoes making him and a dangerous threat. All their attempts fail after the shark grabs their own weapons to throw back, destroying the vehicles, and allowing the shark to eat them. The NWO soldiers soon back off after Admiral Barbra Terranova orders them to stand down and that she'll deal with the shark later. Before that happens, the shark senses new apex predators she had never seen or heard of before, who also threaten her apex status who are controlling their own turf in the waters of Site P.
Next to the holding pen where the creature is kept in, the MEGA Bull Shark spots a large female great white colored blue, bigger than the Apex Great White but with Bio-Electric Powers. That great white was the Bio-Electric or simply, Electric Great White shark with the same bio-electric evolution as the bull's bio-electric set and Trip Westhaven names it as, "Government-suppressed free energy source." The shark decides to take on the electric shark to show who's the true Apex Predator or can think about avoiding it and finding a way to take it down from far range, but she has to take extreme caution as the great white can use its teeth to give enemies a huge shock, and admits electric currents when dodging. This makes the Electric Great White even harder to fight than the Apex Great White in Prosperity Sands. If she's equipped with the Bio-Electric set, then she may have a chance of being immune to being stunned by the Electric Great White, unless if she obtained the Atomic body(Given after killing the Shadow Orca), she would have a fighting chance against her dangerous opponent. Against the odds, she would accidentally lure some hostile predators here like her other main objective to kill 10 Hammerheads, the other is the Great Whites, or rarely another Electric Great White, but nevertheless the MEGA Bull Shark defeats the Electric Great White shark and is rewarded the atomic fins. She continues finding the remaining collectibles around the island until she spots a tank which has an impenetrable glowing barrier with something inside it. As she gets up on land to get a better view, she sees the creature swimming in it. The creature seems to look like a Mosasaurus with atomic powers because of its fins and the tail flopping up out of the water and the shark believes that the predator could be what's putting her Apex Status on the line. The shark returns back into the water where she sniffs out another evolved Apex Predator which is a large male orca, bigger than the Apex Orca with the shadow evolution. What came on the scene was a Shadow Orca which shares the same shadow evolution as the MEGA shark's Shadow set. Not willing to fear the Shadow Orca, the MEGA shark equipped with her shadow set, goes after it and must avoid the orca's teeth and poison cloud to avoid taking damage. Since the MEGA Bull Shark had her shadow set on, she have a fighting chance against the Shadow Orca, apparently activated her active of the body and going to slow motion, and completely damaging it making the Shadow Orca, an almost easy opponent to take down. Against the odds, the shark beats the Shadow Orca and is rewarded the atomic body evolution which allows the shark to let out an atomic breath like Godzilla. The third evolved Apex Predator the shark encounters is a male sperm whale with the bone evolution which Trip Westhaven calls it, "Project Sunshine Side Effect." (Which is after the creature escaped from Plover Island) A sperm whale with the bone evolution definitely makes it a challenge, even more than the Electric Great White, and Shadow Orca. To beat the Bone Sperm Whale, the shark must attack it when its at its most vulnerable position like if the whale was idle after missing to bite the shark, unless she grabbed her prey or smaller predator to tail whipped them at range against it. With those tactics, the shark defeats the sperm whale and is rewarded the Atomic Tail which allows her to catapult a radiation ball to hit evolved wildlife or other animals.
The MEGA shark destroys the tower that supplies power to the creature's tank which makes the impenetrable barrier, releasing it into the wild as it gives off a radiation roar (which marks its freedom) and heads towards Port Clovis. Before the shark can go after it, she must confront Admiral Barbra Terranova who is very angry that the shark has ruined her plans, killed the soldierss and destroyed equipment, not to mention her officials too. She decides to take out the shark with the biggest vessel in her fleet, equipped with torpedoes. Apparently, she was a fearful one as she could be the shark hunter for long (Evident that she made sharks feared her because she killed many sharks before, and the marine biologists confirmed that sharks feared her the most in her civilian and military life), and she was the most dangerous threat with her Littoral Combat Ship, with many backups armed with torpedoes, huge canister bombs, and of course the elite hunter divers, making her the worthy but a tough opponent that the MEGA Bull Shark had to face against the bounty hunter, way more than the hunters back at Port Clovis. Unfortunately for her, the shark grabs the torpedoes to launch back at the ship, and mostly using her atomic blast and destroying the heavy armed combat ship and killing Terranova and her crew, allowing the shark to eat her. Before leaving, the shark battles against a resurrected or infected bone sperm whale which is bigger (possibly older than the other one) and has atomic powers which have been fed by the Atomic Leviathan after it broke out of its tank. She had to be cautious about the Irradiated Bone Sperm Whale because since it's bigger, it's also more powerful and had reduced damage even further making it the toughest evolved apex predator the MEGA Bull Shark had ever faced, possibly the first time to kill the irradiated evolved apex predator before. Fully equipped with the atomic set, she had to kill it from afar so she doesn't get hit and flew into the air by it as dealt with many sperm whales before. After defeating the Irradiated Bone Sperm Whale, the shark finishes the last rings chases(unless if she already did all of them before killing the irradiated evolved apex predator), and finding collectibles, then returns to Port Clovis to seek out the creature which had return to the place where it'd first visited and it's starting to irradiating the whole entire region.
She finally returned to Port Clovis and had to save both Port Clovis and the whole world from the NWO's bio-weapon. The shark followed the trail where M.O.L.O.C.H. left off, finding out that it headed west. She headed the leftover trail where the creature had been, only finding radioactive fluids on the bottom ocean floor, and Trip Westhaven had to ask his friend, "a world-renowned expert of ancient giants," which the shark, Trip and many of his followers to find out what the creature is and why. She investigated the trail again, only that it left more radioactive bodily fluids on the pipeline, but however, she senses that the NWO are setting the tower again, but this time, on the small island in the eastern part of Sapphire Bay. She eventually destroyed the tower again and killing all NWO soldiers on the beach and alerted more of the shark hunters and NWO troops, which the shark had to escape to avoid being killed by both remaining of Scaly Pete's hunters and the NWO sailors on their boats. She successfully escaped from the NWO troops from the small island and continued to follow and investigate the creature’s trail. After finding the trail and seeing some NWO boats with elite hunter divers coming in, and so she killed them as they are interfering with her “mystery following” until she noticed that the NWO soldiers are present in the north east of Sapphire Bay, possibly rounding up civilians in their home, and maybe executing them so the Bull Shark had to avenge those people’s death despite the fact that she’s the only one who’s supposed to execute them with no mercy as she eats them. After that, she headed to the site of more of the trail leftover from the creature again, but what she saw was a destroyed boat which is carrying supplies to the citizens of Port Clovis, which is the creature's doing because it rammed right into it, killing everyone on board and poisoned the food supply. Or from what Trip said, the NWO sunk the whole boat, but it could be targeted from the experimental torpedoes filled with radioactive fluids, although this confirmed to be the creature's doing as the NWO cannot control it. She started to kill more NWO soldiers who are present in the other beaches of Sapphire Bay and completing trial racing through rings. After those were done, she senses another irradiated apex predator, but this it's the Irradiated Shadow Orca. The Shark remember that once she kill the first one, now a couple more shadow orcas back at Plover Island so she take on the bigger one in which she came prepared for, so she still had to be careful when the Irradiated Shadow Orca is much more stronger than its cousin, and even with the Atomic set equipped, the MEGA Bull Shark succeed in killing the last threat who is spreading a little radioactive poison in Sapphire Bay. Now the MEGA Bull Shark ventured off to find the creature and there, headed to the golf place and home to mostly the Makos, Golden Shores.
When she finally arrived at Golden Shores, she started to find the trail where the creature left off, which is very strange that M.O.L.O.C.H. is a very big one which is very odd that it can swim through tight areas, even though, the MEGA Bull still can't even wait to fight that thing off to restore her apex status. She found the trail with NWO boats surrounded it, she managed to kill them, still that alerted the hunters to catch her, so she escaped. After the chase from the hunters, and came to an end, she try to locate the creature's whereabouts until she smell another irradiated apex predator, so she headed there. Turns out, it's the Irradiated Electric Great White who is swimming around the same spot where she fought the Apex Mako during her childhood, and now she nearly prepared for the worse encounter. The fight between the Atomic MEGA Bull Shark and the Irradiated Electric Great White begins, but this one is more stronger and more dangerous than the other, so the Bull bite it and the Irradiated Electric Great White released an counter measure which proven dangerous to the MEGA Bull Shark's biting attack, which forces her to take it down from range, either kept throwing the makos, or charge up her Atomic ability, which worked in that way. After the great white was put down, the Bull started to kill the NWO soldiers on the area right in front of her. Since those were done, she proceed to kill every NWO all over Golden Shores, completing time trials, and killing the last Irradiated Electric Great White. She was about to head to another location where the creature left off, but she headed back to Sapphire Bay to kill the Irradiated Electric Great White, as it just arrived there.
After that, the MEGA Bull Shark then headed to Dead Horse Lake.
