And now time resumes!

I don't want you hurting any more Earth people. That wouldn't be nice.
~ Miss Martian.
You make a fine leader, Donna Troy. We need a leader. It was never going to be me. Though I am your liaison to the Justice League, I now believe J'onn J'onzz put me on this team so you could watch over me.
~ Prime-Earth Miss Martian.

Miss Martian (real name M'gann M'orzz) is a fictional superheroine in the DC comics and the universe. She is the younger female counterpart to Martian Manhunter, a super-hero active as a member of the Teen Titans. She is a member of the malevolent White Martians race unlike her Green Martian predecessor, although she works hard to prove herself and discredit the stereotype. In her civilian identity, she is high-school student Megan Morse.

Miss Martian was created by Geoff Johns and Tony S. Daniel, first appearing in Teen Titans (Volume 3) #37 in August of 2006.

Overview[]

A White Martian with a conscience, M'gann M'orzz joined Earth's Teen Titans' while pretending to be another surviving Green Martian. She is something of a protege for J'onn, serving as a surrogate niece to him.

Biography[]

Early Life[]

M'gann M'orzz is a White Martian, a race of vicious warriors who started massacring their cousins, the Green Martians. M'gann's parents sent her on a rocket to the Vega system to escape from it, and M'gann learned that another Green Martian refugee, J'onn J'onzz, had escaped from the White Martians and made it on Earth. M'Gann eventually came to Earth, and her parents and dozens of other White Martians were captured by the U.S. government. After separating from her parents, M'gann adopted the name "Megan Morse" (the English transliteration of her Martian name), and "Miss Martian", for her superhero identity.

Teen Titans[]

Shortly after the Infinite Crisis, Megan met the Teen Titans, and joined the team during the rocky period, and shared a room with Ravager. One day while watching an episode of The Three Stooges, Megan decided to imitate their actions by throwing a pie into Ravager's face. Ravager failed to appreciate the joke, and began to call Megan numerous names. Hurt by her words and the thoughts of other people, Megan fled in tears and quit the team. Megan then traveled across the world until she decided to relocate to Australia in the Tanami Desert, and liked the arid terrain because it reminded her of her homeworld.

While in the desert, Raven came to her, asking to use her telepathy to scan the minds of former Titans in search of a "secret". When the Titans came to her after she apprehend the villain Gunshot, she told them that Raven to to her. However, Megan refused to read to minds of "good people", as it violated her personal code of ethics, and did not reveal Raven's location. She then directed the team towards Bombshell, but then violated her own rule and scanned the mind of Bombshell, learning that he was a mercenary in search of a computer disk that housed Jericho's life essence. Megan tried to warn the Titans, but Bombshell attacked her with an incendiary device, which revealed her true White Martian heritage. After aiding the Titans in defeating Bombshell, Cyborg declared that she was once again a member of the team.

Cyborg later brought Megan to Belle Reve so she could use her telepathy to interrogate Bombshell, and reluctantly did so before the Titans East arrived. During the battle, Megan was tortured by Sun Girl Inertia, the former claiming that Megan was her personal slave in the future she was from. After the Titans East incident, Megan and the Teen Titans were involved in the Amazon attack on Washington, D.C. Megan battled Supergirl, and later fought Artemis before saving Wonder Girl's mother Helena.
