Richard Parker is the deuteragonist of the movie and book Life of Pi. He is a Bengal tiger who is trapped for months on a lifeboat with Pi Patel. Pi prevents Richard Parker from eating him by training the tiger to fear and depend on him, and eventually they develop a sort of companionship.
Personality[]
Richard Parker first started as a ferocious tiger with his wild personality under the work for his human masters. However, he was a little bit scared of the disasters. During the riding time in the destroyed big ship, he easily enjoyed a happy and carefree life. When the ship was destroyed, all of the people in the ship, except Pi, are dead. He and Pi were left alone.
Superpowers[]
- Tiger Physiology: With this ability either Parker is or can mimic/transform into felines, from domesticated cats, wild cats to big cats.
- Enhanced Agility: With this ability Parker himself can go from one motion to another effortlessly, effectively dodge attacks, swing from things easily, sprint, do back-flips, leap across rooftops, and numerous other gymnastic, athletic and martial implements with little to no effort.
- Enhanced Bite: Richard has a particularly strong bite, either because of his sharp fangs/teeth, strong jaw-muscles, unusual jaw-structure (mandibles of insects, beak, etc.) or some other reason. Exactly what he can bite depends on the jaw-strength, resilience of his teeth/bite-surface and his shape.
- Enhanced Leap: Richard Parker can jump farther than average members of his species. He can leap farther than even the greatest human athlete. Impressive feats include being able to jump over large fences, clear big holes in the ground, jump from building top to building top, and etc.
