Truman Oatley is one of the main characters in Martha Speaks. Truman is a African-American and another one of Helen's best friends who likes reading historical works of literature and is prone to seasickness. He is easily scared of bats, clowns, seasick and bugs.
Truman is younger than Helen, TD and Alice so he had to be or 9 years old. Truman can get seasick when he is on a boat so Martha and Helen had to help him overfear getting seasick.
In the season one episode Ice Scream, Alice gets shocked when she found out that Truman has not ate ice cream before, Truman & Martha are truly always trusting each other. Truman has a dream about becoming a scientist from the episode Dr. Trumanstein. He is the only character in the show besides TD who does not have a brother.
