Biography[]

Past[]

Bucciarati was raised by two loving parents and lived in the suburbs of Naples. After his parents' divorce, he decided to live with his father to keep him from being forgotten. During one of their fishing trips, Bucciarati's father discovers evidence of gangsters doing drug trades in the village. This results in him being shot before the coast guard interfered.

In the hospital, Bucciarati's father was approached by 2 gangsters who wanted to finish the job, only for them to be ruthlessly murdered by Bucciarati who had been hiding in the room. He later joined Passione in exchange for protection of him and his father, gaining a stand in the process.

During his career, Passione slowly began to dabble in the drug trade. A few years later, Bucciarati's father died due to complications in surgery and he later discovers the mafia's involvement with drugs. Afterwards he gained the trust of several individuals who he hired for his team.

Before the events of the part began, he and Guido Mista were tasked with assassinating a target who was believed to be a murderer. He was unaware of the rock rolling around and stalking them. He was almost touched by the rock which turned out to be an enemy stand but Mista was able to save him by tackling it off a building.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind[]

Bucciarati's first appearance in the part involved him entering a bus using his stand, Sticky Fingers to enter a bus Giorno was using. He interrogated his opponent relentlessly, going as far as licking Giorno's sweat to determine whether or not he was lying. Bucciarati soon realized that Giorno is his target and proceeded to attack him, only to flee in order to gain an advantage.

Unfortunately, Giorno was able to track him down, forcing him to exit his hiding spot and use his stand ability on his opponent. Giorno was almost sliced apart by the zippers until he detached his own arm in order to attack Bucciarati again, resulting in his defeat. Giorno however spares him and decided that he wanted to infiltrate the mafia instead.

Bucciarati gives him the location of where the initiation takes place before warning him of the dangers of being a traitor. Giorno succeeded and Bucciarati decided to introduce him to the latter's team. They later decided to go and find Polpo's treasure due to the owner's death. On their way, Bucciarati's teammates were incapacitated one by one, leaving him, Abbacchio, and Giorno on the ship.

Giorno sacrificed himself in order to give his teammates clues before Abbacchio followed up and used his stand to track down everyone else. Abbacchio was soon captured as well but was able to leave enough clues for Bucciarati to follow up, allowing him to discover that the enemy stand user was hiding in a second ship hidden within the ship they were currently on. He soon defeated the enemy stand user, a man named Mario Zucchero before separating his head and letting the team torture him.

After the team retrieved the treasure, they were tasked in guarding their boss' daughter, a teenage girl named Trish Una. A few days into the task, Narancia was attacked and their location was compromised, forcing the team to board a locomotive.

While in the train, the team were soon under the effects of an enemy stand. With Mista's defeat, Bucciarati exited his hiding spot and ambushed one of the enemy stand users, dragging him out of the train and injuring him severely. He then fights off the other enemy stand user who threatened to destroy Coco Jumbo. Bucciarati was able to reverse the situation, killing his opponent with a stand rush.

While hiding in a truck, Mista's stand ate a sandwich that belonged to the driver, forcing him to knock the driver out. The team were tasked with finding other means of transportation, leaving Bucciarati in Coco Jumbo to guard Trish. They were soon attacked by an enemy stand which disassembled their whole body until Giorno was able to save them by killing the enemy stand along with its user.

Eventually, the team arrives in their final destination and Bucciarati was tasked to return Trish himself. While on the elevator, Diavolo attacks Trish and congratulates Bucciarati who was disturbed by this revelation and decides to attack his boss. After being injured repeatedly, Bucciarati was able to figure out the enemy stand's ability and was able to survive long enough for his team to arrive. Giorno in particular was able to heal him until his soul returned to his body.

Bucciarati gave his team a choice, to join him on his quest to kill the boss or leave and remain safe. Everyone except Fugo joined and the team later arrive at a restaurant where they accidentally mistaken a civilian for an assassin. Narancia was subsequently tricked into telling Mista that it was safe to shoot, in a kitchen filled with flammable gas. This results in the team being injured except Narancia.

The team eventually went to an airport where they are followed by a suspicious man. This proved to be a mistake when the team was in the air as the stand only activates once its user is dead. He was one of the few survivors and eventually, the enemy stand is defeated.

Some time after that, the team discovered that Abbacchio was killed in an attempt to uncover Diavolo's identity. Bucciarati tried his best to maintain his composure despite his grief, going as far as scolding the grieving Narancia. They later found Diavolo's face print left behind by Abbacchio and decided to continue with the journey.

The team continued their travel on boat only to find that the city they arrive in was under the effects of a stand ability. After narrowly avoiding danger, Bucciarati decided to hunt down an enemy stand user, leaving Giorno and Mista to deal with the other one. On their way, he revealed to Giorno that his body is deteriorating due to his soul being forcibly put back into his dead body.

They soon arrive at their destination and Bucciarati separated to hunt down his target, an enemy stand user named Secco. After a lengthy fight, he was able to beat Secco by shattering his opponent's eardrums and knocking him into a garbage truck. He later accidentally bring Diavolo to Polnareff. The Frenchman was forced to stab his own stand with the arrow, causing it to turn into a requiem stand with the ability to switch souls.

Bucciarati wound up in Diavolo's body and was almost killed before the team realized it and turned their attention on his former body. Unfortunately, Diavolo was not residing in Bucciarati's body which the team did not discover until Narancia's death.

During the final battle, Bucciarati was able to figure out the requiem stand's weakness and proceeded to destroy the ball of light behind his head. This allowed the souls to return to their bodies, at the cost of Bucciarati's soul ascending to heaven. Before he ascended, he thanked Giorno for bringing him back to life and restoring his faith. In the end, he gave Giorno the arrow before fully ascending.

Appearance[]

Bucciarati appears as a mid-sized man with a slim build. He has black chin-length hair with straight-cut bangs covering his forehead and a braid along the top of his head.

His attire is composed of an all-white coat covered in small black spoon-like symbols, with an open chest similar to Giorno and zippers in random places alluding to his Stand, Sticky Fingers.

His appearance seems to have stayed consistent since childhood with no particular differences outside his height and clothing.

Jolyne, Fly High with Gucci[]

Bruno makes a small appearance in the one-shot wearing a blue two-buttoned jacket plus a matching pull-over and dotted shirt underneath it, with gray trousers and brown shoes.

He is consistently portrayed as red-haired.

Personality[]

To complete my mission, and protect my men. Having to do both at once is what makes being an officer so tough. Are you ready for this? I know I am.
~ Bruno to Prosciutto.
The words "I'll kill you." shouldn't be left unsaid until the deed is already done. That's how it works in the gangsters' world we live in.
~ Bruno Bucciarati

Bruno Bucciarati, first introduced as a sly gangster, is quickly revealed to be a righteous, but ruthless individual.

During his introductory arc, Bucciarati acts like a seemingly affable gangster toward Giorno Giovanna, starting chitchat on various subjects during which Bruno reveals his more violent side. This behavior is later shown to be an act he puts up with unfamiliar people outside of Passione, and he would later conduct himself in the same manner with two airport security guards.

Bruno Bucciarati's most important character traits are his righteousness and his natural kindness. Bruno is dedicated to taking the most honorable course of action, even if he puts his life at risk. For instance, at the age of seven, Bruno chose to stay with his father when his parents divorced as he thought he should support the one parent who suffered from this separation.

Moreover, Bruno overtly rebelled against Diavolo when the Boss clearly wanted to kill his daughter, Trish Una, resulting in his premature death. Bucciarati is loyal to the civilians of his territory, being considerate with them accepting their requests for help, and is generally nice to the people he meets.

Bucciarati respects and upholds several values such as determination, commending Giorno's determination in their fight, selflessness as he is prepared to sacrifice himself for his beliefs and his duties, and family loyalty, being outraged that Diavolo would dare hurt his own child. Bruno particularly despises the drug trade, which caused his father's death and is hurting the population on a large scale, thus any mention of it unnerves him.

Because of his allegiance to Passione which is selling drugs in the street, Bruno is conflicted between his code and his duty as a lieutenant. Giorno notes that Bucciarati was at odds with himself when he used Sticky Fingers to hide inside the body of a teenager who was addicted to drugs. Due to this, he decided to quietly support Giorno Giovanna's infiltration of the gang while still working for the organization. Shown to be against Narancia joining the gang, telling him to live a normal life, Bruno doesn't hold the gangster life in high regard.

Bucciarati is consistently shown to be serious, even as a young child, and usually keeps a serious and unflinching demeanor throughout the story. As a lieutenant and team leader, Bucciarati is dedicated to leading his team seriously and fulfill his mission. Bruno is constantly seen reigning in his less disciplined subordinates, being severe but fair as well as very protective of them, earning him the respect of his team.

For the sake of his teammates, Bucciarati keeps a stern façade of determination, ordering his team to carry despite the recent loss of Abbacchio even though he too was distressed by Abbacchio's sudden death. Bruno is shown to have a paternal side with Narancia, whom he sheltered and counseled to stay away from the life of a gangster, as well as with Trish whose worries about being the daughter of a mob boss he tries to comfort the best he can.

In contrast to his righteousness, Bruno has a violent and ruthless side. At the age of ten, Bucciarati coldly murdered his father's would-be aggressors, and as a gangster, kept his tendency toward violence. Upon their first meeting, Bucciarati violently beat down Giorno and referred to his interrogation as a torture session. In a fight, Bruno will often use lethal force against his enemies and always try to kill those he sees as irredeemable.

During a fight, Bucciarati is both brave and cautious. While he is ready to sacrifice himself in order to win, Bucciarati will try tactical retreats and sneak attacks regularly, as seen when he tried to ambush Diavolo.

Powers and Abilities[]

Bucciarati's Stand Sticky Fingers allows him to create zippers on any solid object or surface, including his own body parts, which he can zip open and close at his leisure. Sticky Fingers also demonstrates exceptional strength and defense in combat.

Intelligence[]

Bucciarati is a remarkable fighter in a Stand fight, having mastered the versatile power of Sticky Fingers, he can easily use the environment to his advantage, restrain his enemies, swiftly evade incoming attacks, and attack from blind spots. His natural selflessness means that survival is not among his priorities, thus his actions will easily surprise his opponents.

Bucciarati is also a perceptive fighter, having been able to quickly deduce the weaknesses of King Crimson despite being fatally injured and proceed to take advantage of them. He is able to analyze his opponents' fighting styles and perceive their strengths and weaknesses.

Strength[]

Bucciarati, despite his skinny appearance, is one of the physically strongest humans in the series. He was able to kick Pesci so hard, that the pressure of the kick shattered a train window. Bruno also appears very confident in his strength, as he believes all he needs is one direct punch to Giorno's head to kill him

Lie Detection[]

What a surprise! That's the "distinct tang" of a liar! Right, Giorno Giovanna?
(Che sorpresa! Il sapore inconfondibile di un bugiardo… Vero, Giorno Giovanna?!)
~ Bruno Bucciarati upon meeting Giorno Giovanna and Bruno's words translated into Italian.

Bruno is able to know is someone is lying simply by looking at them, claiming that when a person lies their skin glistens due to sweating. He can also taste a person's sweat to distinguish them as a liar, claiming that the sweat of a liar tastes sweeter than normal.

Sticky Fingers[]

Sticky Fingers

ARIARIARIARIARIARIARIARI
~ Sticky Fingers' Stand Cry

Beyond the standard abilities of being physically strong and nimble in combat, Sticky Fingers has the ability to create zippers on anything it touches, with Bucciarati having the ability to open and close these zippers on command. This ability can be used in a multitude of ways, be the usage focused on offensive (in which Bucciarati can dismantle a target into pieces, sever off pieces of them should he deactivate the zippers in this state, or launch his fist forward in a ranged attack), defense (in which Bruno can harmlessly allow targets to be broken apart to avoid attacks or stitch together wounds), and mobility (to which Bruno can either zip along the ground to speed forward or hide within the zipper itself).
