The Torchwood Institute is an organization based in Britain, tasked with protecting the British people from extraterrestial and other unusual non-earthly threats.
Branches[]
Torchwood One, London[]
Torchwood One is the branch located in London, England. It was one of the larger, if not the largest branch of the organization. This branch's main base of operations was the Torchwood-tower, a skyscraper located in Canary Wharf. This branch employed hundreds of emplyees, from researchers to soldiers to officer workers. It was led by Yvonne Hartman, whose goals skewed more towards the imperialistic origins of Torchwood.
During the battle of Canary Wharf most of the emplyees were either killed or converted by the Cybermen.
Torchwood Two[]
Torchwood Two is the branch located near the River Clyde in Glasgow, Scotland. Captain Jack Harkness describes it as "an office in Glasgow with a very strange man".
Torchwood Three[]
Torchwood Three is the branch based in Roald Dahl Plass in Cardiff Bay. This was branch was led by Captain Jack Harkness and monitored the Cardiff Space-Time Rift. Jack reformed this branch of Torchwood to be far less concerned about collecting alien technology, and more about helping humanity.
Torchwood Four[]
Jack Harkness describes it as "missing", caused by the Last of Erebus, a powerful locket.
