~ Fillmore |
Fillmore is a supporting character in the Cars franchise.
He was voiced by the late George Carlin in the first film, and Lloyd Sherr in the sequels.
Bio[]
Fillmore is a 1960 VW Bus, and naturally, also Radiator Springs' resident Hippie and clean fuel aficionado. He brews his own organic fuel in his tie-dyed, geometric dome, and his unkempt yard tends to bug his veteran army jeep neighbor, Sarge.
History[]
Cars[]
In the first film, Fillmore is a stereotypical hippie, as he has stickers of the peace sign and flowers with his license plate positioned to resemble a soul patch. His name is a reference to the Fillmore East, a venue that was an epicenter for rock performances throughout the 1960s and 1970s. He owns an organic fuel shop (Fillmore's Organic Fuel) which features several flavors, and believes that gasoline companies are lying to the public.
Cars 2[]
Fillmore reappears in Cars 2, joining McQueen's pit crew as the fuel expert for the World Grand Prix. Fillmore was re-cast due to George Carlin's death, and was voiced by Lloyd Sherr. Fillmore initially supports Allinol as it supposedly does not use oil, even convincing McQueen it is safe after several accidents involving other cars using Allinol. However, for the final race, Sarge replaces McQueen's Allinol with Fillmore's organic fuel, which is what prevents Lightning from being killed in the race.
Cars 3[]
Fillmore reappears in Cars 3, once again a member of Lightning's pit crew as his fueler with Luigi and Guido handling McQueen's tires.
