Fisher Tiger is a supporting character in the One Piece franchise, being one of the two overarching protagonists (alongside Queen Otohime) of the Fish-Man Island arc. Fisher Tiger was the original founder and captain of the Sun Pirates, which consists of many fish-men pirates, including his longetime friends, Jinbe and Arlong.

Jinbe was a well-known explorer, which led to him being capture by the Celestial Dragons and made their slave. After escaping his captors and returning to Fish-Man Island, he became a pirate to free others from the nobles' slavery. He unfortunately died of blood loss, after being ambushed by a squad of Marines and was fatally shot. Before dying, he appeals to his crew to not reveal the truth about of their tragedy nor their hatred of humanity.

Despite his death, his actions of assaulting the Celestial Dragon later passed down to Monkey D. Luffy when he caused an international incident at Sabaody Archipelago by punching one of the World Nobles.

In Japanese, he's voiced by Kōji Ishii. In English, he's voiced by Gabe Kunda.

Appearance[]

Fisher Tiger is a very tall, muscular humanoid with long black curly hair and goatee. His skin is pinkish due to his fish-man heritage of a sea bream. Like all members of the Sun Pirates, the crew's emblem is tattooed on his body, more specifically his chest. He has a spiky dorsal fin and wide lips similar to a typical fish-man. As a pirate captain, he dons a bandana and green shirt both of which have a camouflage print. He wore a large maroon pirate coat and black pants along with a pair of sandals.

Personality[]

Tiger much like queen Otohime believes in the coexistence of humans although despite his deep hatred for them. Despite this, Tiger is a man with deep respect, despising any needless violence. He has also not discriminated any human slaves he liberated from the World Nobles, even as far as befriending one whom he escorted back to her hometown. As such, Tiger's hope is for freedom to be the basic principles of his pirate crew, disallowing any retribution as it leads to a vicious cycle.

Despite his notion against violence and compassion for everyone, Tiger revealed his dark side to his crew before he died; Tiger revealed himself to have been a slave to the World Nobles, barely making it out alive before he liberated the other slaves. The darkness he saw towards humanity makes him unable to fully accept humans nor love them at the fullest no matter how much effort he pours in, which later resulted in him refusing a transfusion from a human blood after being fatally injured by a Marine ambush. This dark side was considered to be the "demon" residing inside Tiger, which terrified himself. In spite of his deep hatred, his last wish is for the later generations to be inspired of changing the perspective to humans by allowing interspecies relationship.
