Flak is a minor character in the Transformers franchise, especially Generation One. He was originally based on a figure from the 1989 toyline.
Marvel Comics[]
Flak first appeared in Marvel UK's "Aspects of Evil", as one of the Autobots at work on Cybertron. Along with Kup, Arcee and Sunrunner, he accompanied Rodimus Prime in answering a distress call from an Autobot outpost only to find that Galvatron and the Triggercons had already slaughtered the personnel there. Flak helped defeat the Triggercons while Rodimus Prime took down Galvatron. Curiously, the story depicted Frak as a full-size Transformer rather than a Micromaster. He had reverted to his Micromaster size by "The Void", where he was among the Autobots evacuating Cybertron.
His only present day appearance was in "A Small War", where he was one of the first Micromasters constructed on Cybertron. He and the rest of the Battle Patrol were assigned by Emirate Xaaron to infiltrate the Decepticon base and learn the details of their new secret weapon. Flak approached the Decepticon guard who laughed at his small size only for Frak to transform and blast him. Flak and his Patrol-mates sneaked into the base only to find that the Decepticons were constructing their own Micromasters and Decepticon leader Thunderwing had lured them there to be captured and analysed. They were soon overpowered and, although they were eventually rescued by Roadhandler, Powertrain and Seawatch, the Decepticons got what they wanted from them.
