The Forces of Light is a gathering of good aligned warriors in the game Mortal Kombat: Armageddon. They are the opposing army that clashes with the Forces of Darkness In the Battle of Armageddon. This army consists of about unknown count of warriors. A version of the Forces of Light also appears in Mortal Kombat 1, which is lead by Fire God Liu Kang, who recruits heroic allies from across the timelines to aid him into stopping Titan Shang Tsung's Era.

History[]

Mortal Kombat: Armageddon[]

In the intro sequence of the game, and in the final moments of its Konquest mode, two armies, the Forces of light and the Forces of Darkness, battle in the south lands of Edenia. They are interrupted by the rising of the fabled Pyramid of Argus, and atop it is Blaze. The two armies now race to the top, each individual hoping to defeat the fire-elemental monster.

In the game it is unknown who the leader of the Forces of Light is, although Johnny Cage is the one who rallied them together, while Kenshi wished to be the one to lead them. Each heroes' non-canon ending in the game is what happens if they were the one to defeat Blaze and take the prize for selfless purposes.

In the first timeline all members perished except Raiden, against the only living Force of Darkness, Shao Kahn. The Forces of Light was never formed in the second timeline.

Mortal Kombat 1[]

The Forces of Light, also known as the Union of Light, is formed by Fire God Liu Kang, and is a multiversal group made up of heroic counterparts of existing warriors, as part of an effort to stop Titan Shang Tsung and his allies and bring peace to all timelines. This group confronted Shang Tsung in his timeline at the Pyramid, and the two forces clashed, with the Union racing up the Pyramid. During the Battle, many of the combatants faced their own battles, such as Raiden, who was saved from a version of Shao Kahn by his Titan self.

One of Liu Kang's allies, a selectable Final Warrior fought their way up the Pyramid, who is either a member of the New Era timeline or an alternate whose counterpart is evil or deceased at the time of the Battle. The Warrior was aided against a Goro by a group of Johnny Cage's, and was rescued by the trio of Dark Kombat Kids by Titan Kitana. The heroic versions of Shang Tsung and Quan Chi managed to confront their villainous counterparts, but were both killed as a result. The Final Warrior managed to defeat the Titan Deadly Alliance and Liu Kang erased them from existence. With the battle won, the survivors returned to their own timelines.
