~ Fox McCloud in Star Fox 64.
Fox McCloud (Japanese: フォックス・マクラウド Hepburn: Fokkusu Makuraudo) is the main protagonist of the Star Fox franchise.
He is an expert space pilot and a skilled fighter in both armed and unarmed combat. He leads the titular Star Fox team and is pitted largely against the forces of Andross, Fox McCloud's father's presumed death. His weapon of choice is a blaster. Fox also carries a reflector to protect him from projectiles. He flies around space in an Arwing. He also has an arch-rival, Wolf O'Donnell, who thinks he's a better mercenary than Fox.
He was voiced by Shinobu Satouchi, Kenji Nojima and Takashi Ōhara in Japanese and by Dan Owsen, Mike West, Steve Malpass, Jim Walker and Joe Zieja in English.
Fox has green eyes which sometimes appear to be blue, orange-brown fur, and his golden-brown, white-highlighted hair is cut into a crew cut. The rest of his skin is a cream-colored tone. He additionally has a bushy, white-tipped tail which appears to be very short in Star Fox 64 and Command, implying that it might have been cut off at a certain point. Fox is of medium/short height and medium weight, but this is contradicted in the Super Smash Bros. games, where he is a mid-sized target, but additionally very light.
Before Star Fox Adventures, Fox's eye color was inconsistently erratic. In-game, it was yellow orange in Star Fox, but blue in puppets and most artwork (and infrequently green). It is also blue in Star Fox 2, which was originally in development for the SNES. It was black in Star Fox 64 (along with the other characters), and given a consistent green afterwards.
Personality[]
Fox is an overall vigorous and loyal leader. Albeit scarcely of a cocky rogue with a propensity to disregard rules and regulations (and to repine if he's not being paid enough), he is ultimately, according to Star Fox Adventures, "pure of heart".
Fox is shown to be very protective of his friends, as visually perceived in the games, of his team. Fox's countenance is always either a stoic look or cocky smile. In contrast to his personality and traits portrayed in Adventures, Star Fox: Assault depicts Fox as a professional and decisive mercenary.
Powers and Abilities[]
Fox McCloud is a pilot, combatant, adventurer, and the leader of the Star Fox team.

~ Fox in World of Light
Fox is a playable character in the Super Smash Bros games.
In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Fox appeared to shoot down Meta Knight’s ship but was shot down himself and later saved Diddy Kong from Rayquaza, and he accompanied him as the monkey needed help with saving Donkey Kong from Bowser and the Subspace army. The duo nearly got abducted by Bowser twice. The first time, Fox escaped with Diddy in his arms. The second time, Bowser successfully shoot Diddy, but Fox dodges the first shot. Right before Bowser shoots him a second time, Falco intervened, rescued Fox, destroyed the Dark Cannon and helped him and Diddy defeat the Giant False Diddy Kong (that Bowser created in order to prevent Fox from escaping). He also meets Peach and Princess Zelda (who is under the guise as Sheik). He later fought Tabuu and along with the other fighters, had extra help with Sonic to defeat him once and for all.
In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, he shouts "Don't let a single one get away!" when he along with the rest of the fighters fought Galeem but was vaporized. He must be defeated to be unlocked. Rescuing Fox is obligatory to finish the game.

Trivia[]
The only game where Fox doesn't wear his red scarf so far is Star Fox: Assault.
In Super Smash Bros. Brawl's Subspace Emissary, both Fox and Falco are on good terms with Diddy Kong, although ironically enough, many monkeys in the Star Fox series have been enemies.
Fox speaks in a rather youthful voice in all games, but the style and personality differs with each voice actor. Considering the multiple similarities between the Star Fox games and the Star Wars franchise, Fox's personality and character is similar to Luke Skywalker. The Nintendo Power Official Player's Guide for Star Fox Assault even compared Fox with Luke Skywalker.
The name McCloud seems to have a relationship with O'Donnell, Wolf's last name; with McCloud originated from a Scottish family and O'Donnell's origins from an Irish family respectively.
According to Takaya Imamura in an untranslated interview, Fox's mother is still alive in the main timeline, contradicting the Nintendo Power comic where she is deceased. When Fox decided to take over the team and follow in his father's footsteps, she was vehemently against it, presumably out of fear of losing him as she lost James since he was the only surviving member in the immediate family, and the two became estranged. However, even while living far away on Papetoon, she may be supporting her son from behind the scenes.[1] It's currently unknown what her name is in this timeline.
