Francesca, also known as Franklin or Frankie, is one of the two main protagonists (alongside Andi) of Glitch Productions' indie animated sci-fi psychological thriller series, Knights of Guinevere.

She works as a merchandise factory laborer at Park Planet and also helps out a scavenger named Sparky at his scavenging business. She is incredibly strong, able to lift and throw heavy objects with ease, and also known to have "child-like flexibility." She is friendly and seems to have an affinity for animals. She has a rough past, and previously had a history of getting into fights. Nowadays, she seems to be the one keeping Andi from picking fights.

She is voiced by Michaela Laws.

Appearance[]

Frankie is a stocky, muscular and fair-skinned young adult woman who is shorter than her friend Andi. She has an oval-shaped head and a short, skinny nose beneath a pair of bright lime-colored eyes and thick black eyebrows. Her backwards purple and white cap covers a mass of long, spiky, tailbone-length pale-brown hair. On each of her ears, she wears two different earrings; her right ear having a blue moon, and her left earring is a magenta heart.

Besides her purple cap, Frankie wears a long-sleeve white turtleneck sweater underneath a pair of orange and tan overalls in addition to black worker boots. Said overalls have pockets on its legs and are missing its left shoulder strap. Some concept art depicts her wearing a white t-shirt with blue sleeves and triangular rips on the bottom.

As a child, she wore a white, long-sleeve polo shirt with a crown and the symbols M7 beneath it as well as a pair of brown shorts with pockets similar to her work overalls. Her hair was a more orangish color than her pale-brown hair as an adult and it was held together by round orange baubles in two big puffy low pigtails and a cowlick at the front. Back then, Frankie even had a gap in her teeth.

Personality[]

Frankie is described as a rough, reckless dreamer with a big heart. She also has a knack for engineering, often creating and/or repairing useful gadgets in the home she shares with Andi.

Her personality is expressed just as much through her body language as her actions. Frankie has very open body language, keeping her chest up and looking people directly in the eye. This makes her presence feel both welcoming and confrontational at the same time, giving her an air of bold confidence. Years of constant manual labor have left her with unconscious muscle definition, and she treats her impressive strength as if it is second nature. For her, tossing around heavy boxes, bags, or even bodies is effortless, as though they weigh nothing. Despite her rugged build and physical power, Frankie also has a surprising degree of childlike flexibility. While she does relax into playful and comfortable lounging positions, this only happens when she is completely at ease such as around close friends like Andi and Gwen. This side of her highlights the contrast between her tough, reckless exterior and the softness she reserves for those she trusts most.

Her debut episode reveals how much of her personality is tied to her restless ambition and longing for something more. She constantly looks up at the park, dreaming of working in the labs as an engineer someday. Frankie’s rebellious streak shows itself when she hacks a vending machine for parts, stealing with the same boldness that defines her everyday life. Though she works shifts hauling junk and producing merchandise, her imagination and energy push her to dream bigger, especially when she discovers the broken Guinevere android. Where others see it only as scrap or a way to make money, Frankie sees potential. She pleads to repair it, convinced that it could change her life and finally give her a chance to rise above her station.

Her determination also reveals her deep sense of loyalty and idealism. She remembers the day she and Andi first met Guinevere as children, and she wants others to feel the same spark of wonder. This memory, combined with her reckless bravery, drives her to fight for the android even when confronted by Sparky, her boss and former ally. She refuses to give in to his greed or cynicism, showing that her strength is not only physical but also rooted in conviction.

Frankie’s reckless dreamer nature is amplified by her overactive imagination, which often pulls her away from reality. She has a tendency to drift into her own thoughts, where strange hallucinations and playful visions come to life, sometimes guiding her choices and even distracting her entirely. These episodes blur the line between what is real and what is imagined, leading her to speak unconsciously as if answering voices only she can hear. While this makes her seem scattered or eccentric to others, it also fuels her creativity, her determination, and her unique way of seeing possibilities where few others do. Her hallucinations of strange critters urge her on, along with her vision of Guinevere herself, highlighting her reckless dreamer spirit, one that blurs the line between reality and imagination, but always pushes her forward with heart and hope.

Altogether, Frankie is both a powerhouse and a free spirit. She thrives in chaos, carries her strength without arrogance, and lets her guard down only in safe company. Her boldness, her warmth, and her unstoppable drive make her someone who will always fight for her dreams, even when the world around her insists she settle for less.

Biography[]

PILOT[]

Many years back prior to the current events, Frankie and her best friend Andrea (Andi) snuck into the Park Planet, hacked a claw machine to get a Guinevere plush. However, for unknown reasons, they failed, and being disappointed while walking away they bumped into the real Princess Guinevere android, who greets them and asks their names, even recognizing them via her scanner. At one point, one of the fingers of Guinevere's hand started vibrating, and Frankie fixed it, followed by Guinevere thanking her as Frankie and Andi watched in awe.

Many years later, Frankie was sitting in her van while her friend Andi (currently working as an android surgeon and junior engineer) was arguing with the owner of a vending shop, named Reggie. While they argued, Frankie stepped out of her van and used her hacking machine Boombox, now currently upgraded into a new model. While Andi was still arguing with Reggie for insulting her, Frankie came, carried her away and put her in the van. She consoled Andi that the latter was a park engineer, which was an important position. To calm Andi down further, she showed him the components that she stole from one of Reggie's vending machines for Andi to complete her current project to fix a robot. When Reggie finds out, Frankie drives away.

Back in the duo's residence, Frankie was tinkering with her own machines while Andi was struggling to fix the robot. She inadvertently points out Andi the problem allowing the latter to fix it. Very soon, morning came and they both headed to their own jobs.

Frankie works as a merchandise factory laborer, and long hours after making merchandises she felt tired and fell asleep while doing her job until her co-worker wakes her to fix a machine. Frankie ends her the day's job by loading the merchandises for sale in cargo ships. Afterwards, she collected junk dumped into the ocean to be processed into new products. While Frankie was helping to haul in broken debris, she noticed something unusual caught in the nets. Her boss, Sparky, initially dismissed it as worthless, but Frankie got curious and went through the debris, and discovering a wrecked and discarded Guinevere android. Sparky saw it only as valuable salvage to be sold off for parts, Frankie felt compelled to repair it, believing it could change her life and possibly allow her to rise into a position like Andi. She asked Sparky for permission to repair it, but he refused.

Back at her and Andi's residence, Frankie was watching a video about the Park Planet's late creator Orville Park introducing Guinevere to the audience. Strange hallucinations of small critters encouraged her to return to the android, while Andi came back from her job. Frankie reveals what happened and convinces her to steal the android, despite Andi having doubts about it. They break into Park Planet lower labs to use a repair halo, which could be used to repair the android.

Arriving at the elevator for the labs, the two get interrupted when Sparky and his crew confronted her. Sparky was furious that she had stolen the android, but she defended her choice, insisting that he had only wanted to sell it and that she was trying to do something meaningful with it. Sparky tried to convince Frankie, promising her command of a fleet, though she refused, and the conflict escalated into a physical fight, during which Andi stepped in to defend her and reveal that she has lost her job as an engineer. In the end, Sparky agrees to let them repair the android, and warned them that he will be in touch with them about this.

Frankie and Andi continue their journey and carried the android to the lower labs. However, their journey was interrupted again when the android suddenly shrieks, and they become aware that they have been followed by a gigantic mechanical knight-like robot. The duo flees with the android through the collapsing ruins, narrowly avoiding the machine's attacks as it tore through entire structures. While hiding in one of the structures, Frankie tries get the robot off them by spraying its arm with liquid nitrogen. This further enrages the robot who proceeded to lift up the structure they were in and hurl it across the ruin, causing the duo to be knocked unconscious. When Frankie awoke, she started to see hallucinations of the critters and Guinevere. The latter hints that she will take care of the robot while Frankie tried to step forwards, only to be grabbed by Andi who pulls themselves into an elevator, leaving the android behind. She begs Andi to reopen the doors so they can help the android that saved them, but Andi refuses in fear. Several moments later, they hear violent sounds and noises outside and see blood splatter against the elevator glass. The doors open, and the Guinevere android steps into the elevator before collapsing into her inactive state. Relieved, Frankie and a weary Andi resume their mission to repair it, closing the doors and seeing the android somehow killed the giant robot.

Inside the lower labs, the duo, both exhausted and severely injured, places the android inside the repair halo and activate the machines. Mechanical arms and tentacles emerge, latching onto the android as the repair begins. The android soon reboots and looks up, hallucinating Frankie and Andi as children, and warmly exclaims that it is nice to see them again.
