Carlos Frederico Médici, better known as "Franjinha", or as Franklin in english, is a supporting character in the comics and cartoons of Monica's Gang.

He's an inventive boy and a friend of Jimmy Five and Smudge. Franklin is an amateur scientist who's known for his highly complex and wacky inventions that he creates on his lab, such as time machines and potions.

Appearance[]

Franklin is a boy with blond hair and black eyes. He wears his signature red shirt, black shorts, and brown shoes.

Personality[]

Franklin is a prodigy scientist with a very great genius for his age. Franklin has a laboratory in his backyard, where he creates inventions like time machines, shrink rays, super-strength tonics and spacecraft. His inventions almost never work, or are in need of testing. He often helps his friends, creating devices to help in their adventures or plans, though he's often abused by his friends to create silly inventions satisfying their wishes. Franklin also has a platonic love for Marina, but never got a concrete relationship with her.

He has a blue pet dog called Blu.

Trivia[]

His original name in Portuguese "Franjinha" literally means "little fringe" because of how his hair is styled.
Franklin was one of the first characters created by Mauricio and was the protagonist of the original comic strips published on the Folha de S. Paulo newspaper. As time went on, Franklin slowly started moving to the wayside as his role as the protagonist was given to Jimmy Five and, later Monica.
