Nyah. I’m not going to just hope a hero will appear anymore. This time, I will be the one to protect everyone!!
~ Fremea Seivelun to Hisako Yakumi before defeating her, also her most famous quote.

Fremea Seivelun is a major character in the A Certain Magical Index franchise.

She is the younger sister of ITEM member Frenda Seivelun and a close friend of Ritoku Komaba, the late leader of Skill-Out. She is taken under the care of Shiage Hamazura after he saves her from Umidori Kuroyoru and the Freshmen, and subsequently becomes involved in various events. She is also revealed to be the linchpin of the Agitate Halation Project created by Hisako Yakumi.

She is voiced by Yui Ogura in Japanese, who also voices the Priestess in Goblin Slayer.

Appearance[]

Fremea is a little girl who closely resembles her sister, having fluffy blond hair, slender arms and legs, white skin, and crystal blue eyes. She wears a peculiar outfit, consisting of a fluffy white and pink dress with a large bow and is full of frills and lace. Her lower half is very plain in comparison with only a miniskirt and thick, wine-red tights. She also wears a beret along with her attire, similar to Frenda.

Her overall appearance gives off the impression of a doll or an idol found in video games.

Personality[]

Fremea displays behavior typical for a child of her age. While she is often polite and well-mannered, Fremea can be rather bratty and boastful, having a know-it-all attitude, and tends to get into petty arguments with others. However, she has a kind side, as she deeply cares about those she close with, such as her older sister Frenda, Ritoku Komaba and later Shiage Hamazura. She also doesn't like it when her loved ones are insulted and is willing to defend them from slander, as seen when she defended Shiage from Leivinia Birdway and later his girlfriend Rikou Takitsubo by saying what a great person he is, and that she refuses to hear anything bad about him.

Moreover, Fremea has a tendency to make friends in the strangest circumstances, as shown with Last Order and Fräulein Kreutune, and is extremely loyal to them. Although she's mostly innocent and naïve, Fremea can be quite perceptive, as she notices the strange behaviors of those who promised to see her again but never do, like Ritoku and Frenda, who died during the course of the story. Fremea can show signs of cowardice in times of great distress, though this can be attributed to her childishness. She exudes an aura of helplessness that makes people gravitate around her and naturally feel obligated to protect her from harm, a trait which Hisako Yakumi sought to exploit for the Agitate Halation Project.

Despite this, Fremea is capable of showing bravery and selflessness, being willing to go into great danger for the sake of her friends, albeit with help from others, as seen with Kreutune. At the end of the Agitate Halation Arc, Fremea becomes a truly courageous individual, after realizing that people are getting harmed for her sake, she decides to no longer wait around for someone to save her and is determined to protect everyone by herself. When confronted by Yakumi, Fremea states that she doesn't care about her masterplan and only desires to bring back the smiles of her friends and everyone else affected by Agitate Halation.

Like her sister, Fremea tends to incorporate the phrase "Essentially" or ""In the first place" in her speech. She also uses a similar verbal tic akin to Tsuchimikado, "nya," "nyaa," "nyah," a point that Shiage remarks as strange as she has never used that during the first time he met her.

Biography[]

Fremea's full background isn't known. It can be assumed that she and her older sister Frenda originate from Norway due to their surname and occasional use of Norwegian terms. She and Frenda came to Academy City at some point in time and Fremea became acquainted with Ritoku Komaba, leader of Skill-Out, and later Shiage Hamazura and Hanzou Hattori. Although they met her, Shiage and Hanzou didn't know her full name. It's heavily implied that Komaba started the Skill-Out uprising was for Fremea's sake after her school was attacked by high level espers.

Powers and Abilities[]

Powers[]

  • Agitate Halation: Fremea's de-jure ability gives her the effect of unconsciously influencing the AIM diffusion fields of espers in Academy City that the Shading Computer is built upon, and in turn, have it manipulated "heroes" to have a "revelation" to protect her, as seen when she unconsciously made Beetle 05 help her. Due to this, she was made to be the linchpin of the Agitate Halation Project by Hisako Yakumi. Despite her being Level 0, this ability is powerful enough to manipulate the AIM diffusion fields to subdue Hisako and eject her towards Rensa.

Abilities[]

  • Immense Willpower: Fremea has an extremely strong will and is dedicated to protecting her loved ones. This is best shown during the Agitate Halation Arc where she manages through sheer force of will to control the AIM around her to end the Agitate Halation project and turn Hisako Yakumi, who was an AIM thought being, vulnerable.
