Professor Honeycutt, also known as the Fugitoid is a recurring character in the 2003 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles TV series. He is an alien scientist who had his mind transferred into his robot assistant Sal.

He is voiced by Pete Zarustica.

Bio[]

Professor Honeycutt had just created a device that could pick up objects using his mind when he was interrupted by General Blanque. The General wanted Honeycutt to build a teleportal device, which was intended to be a way to promote peace across the galaxy. However, Honeycutt found out that Blanque wanted to use the portal as a weapon (by transporting bombs across space) and the professor refused to construct it. Professor Honeycutt received a distress call from Sal, his robot assistant. Sal had became tangled in wires; as Honeycutt was about to untangle the first wire, he was struck by lightning and his body disintegrated. Fortunately, the device that allowed him to pick up objects allowed his mind to be transported or transferred into Sal's body. Both the Triceratons and the Federation pursued him seeking to obtain his Teleportal device in order to gain the upper hand in their ongoing conflict, but Honeycutt found surprising allies in the Turtles. They wound up back on Earth courtesy of the Utroms' transmat, which later transported Honeycutt and the Utroms to their homeworld.

However, upon learning that the Triceratons had pursued him to Earth, Honeycutt returned there after erasing the Teleportal blueprints from his mind. He was eventually captured by the Federation but managed to infect their fleet with a computer virus that shut them down, with his body being fried in the process. Honeycutt's sacrifice touched both sides, and a peace soon resulted between the two. Fortunately, Honeycutt later returned, having uploaded a copy of his mind into Earth's satellite network prior to his demise. Leatherhead later built him a new body using Earth technology, and he would continue to provide aid to the Turtles, eventually officiating at April and Casey's wedding.

Trivia[]

  • Fugitoid is also a playable character in the brawler game "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Smash Up" for the Wii.
  • Honeycutt explained that robots have no rights in his civilization. So that's why he had to flee.
  • Fugitoid's backstory is similar in the original comics as they were both hunted by the Federation. However, their reasoning for doing so was different as they thought Fugitoid killed Professor Honeycutt (unaware that the professor's mind got transfered into Sal's) while Blanque wanted him to build the portal.
