Fungus the Bogeyman is the husband of Mildew, the father of Mould and the main protagonist of the 1977 book of the same name by Raymond Briggs. He also appears in two TV adaptions of the book, the first one aired on CBBC in 2004 and the second on Sky 1 in 2015.
Fungus lives underground in Bogeydom with his family that consists of his wife Mildew, their teenage (100 in bogey years) son Mould (and in the 2004 series, their daughter Mucus) and serval other Bogeys and every night for his job, comes above land to scare Drycleaners (Bogey name for humans).
Like all Bogeys, Fungus likes everything humans don't such as filth and food that is rotten and maggot infested or overripe. He also has to cope with Mould becoming Dry Curious (being interested in clean things and Drycleaner objects), which is forbidden in Bogeydom.
He is played by Mak Wilson in the 2004 CBBC series and Timothy Spall in the 2015 Sky 1 series.
