Gabriel García, more commonly called Gabe, is a major character of The Walking Dead: A New Frontier by Telltale Games. He is the protagonist Javier García's nephew, Mariana's older brother, David García's son, Kate's stepson, and Clementine's potenial love interest.
He was voiced by Raymond Ochoa, who also voiced Arlo in The Good Dinosaur.
Personality[]
Gabe is a rebellious and hot-headed teenager like his father, David. During the apocalypse, he is very concerned and determined to help his loved ones, even if it sometimes causes problems. Behind this confidence, Gabe is in fact insecure and seeks to show that he is useful and moreover wants to become like his father.
History[]
Gabe first appears in a flashback, at the start of the epidemic when his family takes his grandmother to the hospital after she was bitten by the zombified Salvador.
Four years later, Gabe survives with Javier, his stepmother Kate and his sister Mariana. When the group stops at a junkyard, they are attacked by a group of bandits who later kill Mariana, which upsets Gabe. Afterwards, Gabe ends up in Prescott where he helps Eleanor treat Kate, though he ends up walking away in a panic. During the trip, Gabe is taken hostage by Conrad when the latter learns that Clementine is from the New Frontier. Javier can either kill Conrad or convince him to let go of Gabe. Either way, Gabe yells at Javier and calls him a coward if he spares Conrad.
Arriving at the New Frontier, Gabe is shocked to see that the missing David is one of the leaders of the community. Once in Richmond, David tells Javi, Tripp and Jesus to leave while he goes to keep Gabe and the injured Kate with him. However, Javi refuses to leave them and goes back to get them, although Gabe wants David to join them. If you agree with Gabe, he's relieved, but he'll resent you later if you decide to abandon David. Afterwards, along with the rest of the survivors, Gabe helps Javi find the weapons to confront the leaders of the New Frontier. However, in the building as they hide from a guard in a closet, Gabe rushes out to attack him. He is saved in time by Javi before being joined by Ava.
Later, Gabe witnesses his father's public execution by Joan and can help free David if Javi kills Joan. In the chaos, Gabe follows the group into an apartment building and begins to fear David who becomes unstable. He can also blame him for killing one of the leaders, Clint. After a fight between Javi and David, the latter takes Gabe with him in a vehicle to flee Richmond. If Javi leaves to help Kate, David and Gabe die after being bitten by Walkers. Before being killed, Gabe apologizes for not being a good son and can either be killed by Javi or kill himself. He survives though if Javi goes after him and saves him from the Walkers attacking the pickup. Afterwards, he returns to Richmond where he learns that Kate has become a Walker. At the end of the game, Gabe is still devastated by Kate's death and presumably continues to live in Richmond.
In The Walking Dead: The Final Season, depending on Clementine's dialogue choices, Gabe can be mentioned in a positive or insulting way.
