Gabriel Santiago is a supporting antagonist in season six turned-into-major protagonist in season seven of the CW show, The 100.
He was portrayed by Chuku Modu as Xavier who also played Dr. Jared Kalu in The Good Doctor. Ian Pala portrayed Gabriel in his original body.
Description[]
Gabriel was one of the colonizers of Sanctum who became Prime, but betrayed his own to form his own group of rebels and extremists: the Children of Gabriel. He was also the lover of Josephine Lightbourne whom he adored very much but he also hated. He is a man loyal to his group and determined to take down the Primes and reveal the truth about them. He is also selfless, not hesitating to help his new friends like Octavia, Hope or Echo.

On Sanctum, Gabriel lived a normal life with his team until the Red Sun toxin affected the mental spirits of residents who began killing each other. Gabriel survived him and with Russell found a way to be immortal by transferring the spirit of a person into the body of a host. After realizing the ethics of their actions, Gabriel abandoned the Primes and turned against them, seeking until today to stop them.
Season 6[]
Gabriel (as Xavier) first appears when his followers attack Gaia, Diyoza and Madi and behead one of the Prime. He then meets Diyoza and Octavia in person, whom he helps to survive a passage from the Anomaly to Sanctum. After which, he takes care of Octavia's arm and Diyoza discovers that Xavier is Gabriel also called the Old Man.
When the arm writes signs on a rock, Gabriel finds that they are the same ones he has in his notebook and the three of them head to the Anomaly to solve the mystery. Along the way, the toxin of the Red Sun is more and more powerful and Gabriel hallucinates, seeing Josephine. Diyoza hallucinates Hope, young who takes her through the portal and Octavia follows her but is rejected and her arm is healed.
When Gabriel questions Octavia, she tells him that she doesn't remember anything and he decides to inject her with the Red Sun toxin to bring her memory back. Upon waking up, Octavia says that Clarke is possessed by Josephine's spirit and she and Gabriel reclaim her body to help her. With Bellamy disguised as a Sanctum guard, Gabriel is forced to stop Clarke's heart despite the protests of Josephine in tears. Afterwards, Bellamy revives Clarke and Gabriel follows them to save their friends and defeat the Primes.
In Sanctum, Gabriel's group is captured and Murhpy and Emori posing as Daniel and Kaylee Lee agree to lend a hand. A fight against Clarke and his friends and the believers of Sanctum is engaged and Gabriel reveals an Anomaly Stone. Upon touching all the red symbols, the Anomaly portal opens and Hope arrives and stabs Octavia before falling into Gabriel's arms.
Season 7[]
Gabriel heals Hope at the Rod and the girl runs away. With Echo, he catches up with her and the three team up to hunt down Bellamy's captors and kill one of them. After which, they decide to enter the Anomaly to save Bellamy and find themselves on an unknown planet named "Skyring" by Hope.
There, he meets Orlando, an banished Disciple who destroys the computer Gabriel was working on about the origin of the Anomaly. However, they got to know him and lived on Skyring with him for several years. The trio decide to leave when the Disciples arrive on the planet and take their armor.
They then go to Bardo where they find Octavia and are surrounded by Anders and the Disciples. The leader reveals Orlando's death, to Gabriel's shock, and asks the latter for help in deciphering the Anomaly Stone. He prefers to side with these people when Echo starts murdering everyone after learning of Bellamy's apparent death. However, he returns to his friends' side and discovers both the return and the betrayal of Bellamy who reveals to Cadogan that Clarke does not have the Flame.
With a deal from Cadogan, the group travels to Sanctum where chaos reigns because of Sheidheda quickly neutralized by the Sheperd and his men. There, Gabriel created anti-toxin with Jackson, despite his hallucinations of Josephine. Afterwards, he goes to Cadogan and tells him that he can restore the damaged Flame code, but eventually changes his mind and destroys the Flame himself. After which, he leaves Sanctum with the others and reunites with the rest of his friends who were sent to Earth by Cadogan.
Inside, Gabriel teaches Madi to play the piano and is suddenly stabbed by Sheidheda who has come to kidnap Madi for the Disciples. But Gabriel holds back the Dark Commander long enough for Madi to flee and call for help, and Gabriel is stabbed again several times. The whole group enter the room and stay by Gabriel's side cradled by Octavia's words until he dies of his injuries.
