Gaia is a recurring protagonist from season four to seven in the CW show, The 100.
She was portrayed by Tati Gabrielle, who also portrayed Marienne Bellamy in You.
Description[]
Gaia is Indra's daughter as well as the Flamekeeper after Titus, who passed away. It is she who will teach Madi to be Commander of the Flame and help her face Sheidheda who is trying to take control of her body.
History[]
Appearing from season four, Gaia objects to Roan becoming Acting Flamekeeper. She secretly steals the Flame and Octavia confronts her to retrieve it as the object is coveted by Ilian who wants to destroy it to avenge his family killed by A.L.I.E. The girls manage to create a diversion when Ilian thinks of destroying the Flame even though it was Gaia's identical pendant. They then bring the remains of the replica to Roan, accusing Ilian of stealing it. Gaia is the one who solves the riddle "From our ashes we will rise" with Jaha who wants to find a bunker to survive the Praimfaya, a nuclear apocalypse. Later, she tries to convince Clarke to be the Commander but Roan prevents her. Gaia is present at the conclave which will decide between the nations that will live in the bunker, and is responsible for giving the seals and announcing the dead. She will eventually be one of the survivors in the bunker.
In season five, she will help Octavia become the leader of Wonkru and will also act as a mentor for Ethan Hardy who was under Jaha's wing until his death. During the battle in Shallow Valley against the Eligius Prisoners, Gaia is injured but brought back to the Rover thanks to Bellamy, Echo, Murphy, Madi and Emori. She is then taken in the Gagarin ship to then be cryogenized aboard the Eligius IV with the others, while the Earth becomes liveable again.
In season six, Gaia trains Madi to planet Alpha to learn how to control the Flame. The two and Diyoza are then attacked by the Children of Gabriel but Diyoza, who pretended to be paralysed and kills one of them. When Josephine is in possession of Clarke's body, she doesn't understand what Gaia is saying about Madi in Triegedaslang about the dangerousness of finding out that she is Nightblood. With her friends, she discovers a secret laboratory on the creation of Nightblood as well as the resurrection of the Primes. Gaia then helps to build a rebellion against the Primes but is taken prisoner with the others. Thanks to Miller, she escapes with him but is captured by Clarke who poses as Josephine and threatens Indra to kill her daughter although the warrior knows it is her. This is when Madi is revealed to be possessed by Sheidheda, disturbing Indra and Gaia tells her that she will kill Madi if the Dark Commander is to be stopped. Madi is later taken to Medical Bay where Raven hacks the Flame to remove her code and Jackson removes the item, freeing Madi from Sheidheda. On a balcony with Clarke, Gaia chats with her about the two of them holding onto Madi and hugging each other.
