Gamma 1 is a Red Ribbon Army Android created by Dr. Hedo, as well as one of the misguided antagonists in Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero.

He was voiced by Hiroshi Kamiya in Japanese version and Aleks Le in English.

Appearance

Gamma 1 resembles his fellow Android Gamma 2 and wears a similar costume, though befitting his number designation Gamma 1 has a single fin upon his head. Hedo's design for Gamma 1 was inspired by one of the many superheroes he idolized in his childhood. He also wears a red cape, carries a red Ray Gun, and the number one on his chest is colored red as well.

Personality

In contrast to his twin, Gamma 1 is the stoic and serious one of the duo. However, like his twin, he was a firm believer in justice and good, to such an extent that after witnessing Carmine try to shoot a then-toddler Pan, he immediately defected alongside his twin to the Dragon Team out of disgust.

Biography

Background

Gamma 1 was created by the genius scientist Dr. Hedo for Magenta the president of the Red Ribbon Army front company, Red Pharmaceuticals. He was directly based off a super hero character who Hedo was a fan of.

Story

When Gamma 2 arrives back from his mission to gain intel on Piccolo Jr., he informs the leading Red Ribbon members that he has killed the Namekian. However, Gamma 1 tells him that he is mistaken, and that Piccolo actually got away under a cloak of dust.

Piccolo volunteers himself for the kidnapping party and talks Pan into playing along. Enraged upon learning of his daughter's "abduction", Gohan launches a full-scale assault on the Red Ribbon base and fights Gamma 1. Gohan powers up to his "Ultimate" form during his fight with Gamma 1 while Piccolo discards his disguise to face Gamma 2, with his full potential manifesting in a new form dubbed "Orange Piccolo". Piccolo manages to convince Gamma 2 that Magenta was lying about the Z-Fighters, and the Gammas have a change of heart.

Gammas 1 and 2 engage in battle with the monster in order to save their creator Dr. Hedo, and with a final sacrificial act from Gamma 2 and help from the Dragon Team, Cell Max is defeated. Following this, Bulma (having offered Dr. Hedo a job at Capsule Corporation after learning of his skin serum) also offers Gamma 1 a job at Capsule Corporation as a security officer.
