Garbage (also known as Captain Garbage) is the main protagonist of the Netflix's animated series Dogs in Space.
He is voiced by Haley Joel Osment, who also voices Sora in the Kingdom Hearts franchise.
Appearance[]
Garbage is an anthropomorphic Corgi dog that has a small, chubby body. He is wearing a red captain's uniform with yellow accents and a white t-shirt underneath. The garbage is also wearing dark blue pants and black leather boots.
Personality[]
In the start of series, Garbage is presented as an idiotic character, a not very good captain and a bum because he has already put his friends in danger numerous times throughout the series.
But he has a big heart because even Kira had tried to brainwash the entire crew of the junk ship he still saw kindness in her and so he tried to redeem her.
He is also very loyal to his mistress and to all humans on earth as he is never tired of finding a new planet for humans, including owner Chelsea, to live on.
Biography[]
Backstory[]
After the earth was polluted and destroyed, the humans sent all the earth's dogs into space with the mission to find a new home for them and Garbage took his mission very seriously as he didn't want to deception his owner.
Season 1[]
During the three months the garbage and its Pluto crew try to find a new one for their owners. But every time they think there's always a catastrophe that makes them back off and try again the next day and in one of the missions they end up finding a wrecked dog named Kira who had been abandoned by her owner a long time ago.
Garbage decided to welcome her on the ship and make her a member of their crew even though she refused and said she likes to be alone.
At the end of the series, she finds out that Kira built a device that would make the dogs on the ship normal dogs with the intention of brainwashing them and convincing them that humans were bad creatures and thus setting up a planet just for the dogs.
Kira ends up expelling the Garbage and happy to a magnetized meteor that made the garbage discover that the owner of the Kira is Olga and that she struggled a lot to try to find her dog, so using the fireflies that inhabited that garbage and happy meteor they manage to return the ship and show Kira a message from Olga making her regret everything she did and make all the dogs go back to normal.
After convincing the council members that she wasn't evil he sent her ashore to meet up with her owner Olga again.
In the end, Garbage finally opened his adopt-birthday gift which was a sweater that its owner made for it and after that the crew celebrates because Stella was finally promoted to captain with exception of Garbage because she became captain of the Pluto ship doing that Garbage was expelled and demoted from the position of captain.
Season 2[]
After being expelled from the post of captain on Pluto, Garbage starts working as a waiter at Barclay's tea shop. He also lives in an apartment with Jeff who is still transformed into a normal dog, Garbage missed being a captain and that's why he tried to sneak in but Stella always stopped him saying that the council would never allow him to return to the crew even if it's as a crew member and not as a captain.
After the Shrub's evasion ended, Garbage was officially back to the Pluto as co-captain.
