Gavin is a major character in the science fiction adult comedy series Solar Opposites. He is a jaded, hedgehog-riding cowboy and the father figure of Sophia. He was hired by Montez to unknowingly transport a valve to the hose, which made him a target of the bounty hunter Little Richard.
He was voiced by Clancy Brown, who also voiced Mr. Krabs in SpongeBob SquarePants, Raiden in the Mortal Kombat series, Otto from Super Robot Monkey Team Hyper Force Go!, Toilette Ree, The Epic Tales of Captain Underpants, Captain Black from Jackie Chan Adventures, Hank Anderson in Detroit: Become Human.
Appearance[]
Gavin is a broad, elderly man with a long, scruffy, grey beard. Due to his increased age, he has visible wrinkles under his eyes and on the sides of his head. He wears a pale green shirt and a blue green handkerchief. He has a formal grey jacket and a large, brown, western style hat. His pants are a dark brown and hit boots are grey.
Personality[]
Gavin has been through a lot, being a member of The Wall since its early days. Thus, he has become extremely pessimistic and has no real desire to fight anymore. Aside from Hedgie and Sofia, he doesn't like most people. That is somewhat for the best, as his stern and grumpy nature, combined with his gambling addiction, turn most people off to him. However, he does have a soft side. As mentioned above, he cares about Hedgie and Sofia, even risking his life to save the latter. He can also be heroic, as he helped take down Albert's evil scheme.
History[]
Past[]
While it's unknown when exactly Gavin was shrunken down and imprisoned in The Wall, it is known that he's been there since the very first season, even participating in the storming of The Duke's castle. During Tim's control of The Wall, he distributed adult toys to people in need. Later, during the rise of Sister Sisto, he helped transport messages to the resistance.
Gavin was one of the countless people to escape The Wall after it was discovered that there was a hole in it. Presumably, this is where he met Hedgie and became a nomadic cowboy type. At some point, he became 10,000 yard bucks in debt to McManus, which caused him to look for any way he could to pay it off.
Season 5[]
Gavin came to Oscar's bar, looking for a job. Oscar had a cart of food he needed transporting, but he thought Gavin was untrustworthy and initially refused to hire him. However, after Gavin told him the truth about how he needed yard bucks, Oscar changed his mind. Gavin took the cart and headed to the rendezvous point at the other side of the Yard, unaware that Oscar's niece, Sofia, was hiding inside.
Gavin continued to make his journey across the yard, where he would eventually discover the stowaway. Cherie told Gavin that her uncle was killed by a man riding a lizard, whom Gavin would identify as the mercenary Little Richard. Gavin and Sofia made their first stop at the Sandbox, and area of the wall controlled by Anthony, Gavin's former friend. Gavin was drugged by Anthony, though Sofia realized Anthony's plan and helped him escape.
During their travels, they were once again intercepted by Little Richard, forcing them to lose the bounty hunter in a puddle of hand sanitizer, which started disintegrating them due to their small size. Sofia was more concerned with saving the cart itself rather than the food, causing Gavin to question her motivation. Sofia eventually revealed that they were actually transporting a valve to the hose, and Gavin, not wanting to get involved in another war, abandoned Sofia to deliver it herself.
Gavin left and attempted to find another job, but Hedgie refused to go any further until they helped Sofia. Gavin reluctantly went to Basketballburg to help Sofia, where he would meet up with Montez. The three tried to sneak in to find Sofia, but Gavin was found by McManus and was nearly killed by him. Gavin later participated in the battle against Anthony, the corrupt leader of Basketballburg,'s forces. The heroes managed defeat Anthony, though they were all betrayed by one of their allies, Cherie, who appointed herself as the ruler of The Yard.
