General first appears strolling on a sidewalk when he encounters an aggressive St. Bernard (that looks like Cujo), and chases after him, and almost got hit by Christine. He manages to escape from Cujo by running up in a Barrel and hid until he was gone. Later, General came out of hiding and believe he lost him until he runs into again and ran all the way to an upside down canoe. General later ran off and leading him to a tobacco truck, which heads to New York City.
Once arrived in New York City, General exits the truck and makes a stop and moves away from some people. He then sees a disembodied girl figure calling him for help. Suddenly, he is caught by a man with a cat cage, and took him to Quitters Inc., a sleazy organization for people to quit their smoking habits, lead by the corrupt Victor Donatti.
When Mr. Donatti shows Dick Morrison the demonstration of the electric shock torture room, he tests it out on the cat, General (who is eating something). Mr. Donatti proceeds to torture the poor cat, despite Dick’s pleas to stop.
Later on, after Mr. Donatti does the same torture tactic on Dick’s wife, Dick accidentally knocks down the cat cage, freeing General, allowing him to escape, and hitch a ride on a ferry heading to Atlantic, New Jersey.
After escaping Quitters Inc., General arrives in Atlantic, and once again sees the same disembodied figure of a girl, once again calling him for help.
General stumbles upon a casino led by the mobster, Cressner. Cressner’s wife notices General trying to cross the street, she beckons to him. General briefly gets stuck in the traffic, but manages to reach the casino, creating a traffic jam. Cressner takes General to his penthouse home.
Later, as Cressner blackmails Mr. Norris, forcing him to pass through the ledge of his penthouse, General hisses at him. Then the tomcat watches as Mr. Norris reaches back to the penthouse top. During an attack on Cressner, General escapes his penthouse and discovers a toot horn that Cressner used to torture Mr. Norris. General watches as Cressner falls to his death, ending with a toot horn sound.
After escaping Cressner’s penthouse, General hops aboard on a speeding train to Wilmington, North Carolina. General has hiked a ride on a truck and waiting for it stop until it does and General hops out and continues walking. He arrives at the little girl's house and sees the girl he was sent to protect. However, he spots something going inside the Girl's house and realized that the thing the girl was warning him about.
