~ Geno |
Geno (whose real name is the unpronounceable ♥♪!?) is a major protagonist of the 1996 role-playing game Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars and its 2023 remake.
He is a warrior from Star Road and is sent by "a higher authority" to restore peace to Mario's world. Although he takes the form of a wooden doll, Geno is a star being (potentially like Starlow), as shown upon his arrival and departure.
Appearance[]
Geno is a small, yellow star who takes the form of a brown, wooden doll. He has two fragments of orange hair, and red eyes (dark brown in the remake). He wears a blue-yellow hat, a blue-yellow cape, and brown boots.
Personality[]
Geno has a confident and heroic attitude. He is very focused on and dedicated to his mission to find the Star Pieces needed to repair Star Road. However, he is also happy to assist Mario and party with other tasks as well.
Biography[]
Geno is a representative of the Stars sent down from Star Road sometime after the Smithy Gang shattered it into pieces. He first appeared at the Rose Town Inn where he possessed a small wooden doll belonging to the innkeeper's son Gaz. Assuming the doll's form, Geno set out for Forest Maze in order to locate the Star Piece there. Mario and Mallow followed Geno through the forest until they spot him confronting Bowyer of the Smithy Gang who held the forest's Star Piece in his possession. Geno managed to defeat Bowyer in battle with the help of Mario and Mallow, then explained to them who he was and the importance of the Star Pieces before he joined Mario on his adventures. Alongside Mario and his teammates, he battled Smithy's minions and assisted Mario with gathering the remaining Star Pieces before confronting Smithy himself for the final Star Piece. Once Smithy was defeated, Geno left his doll body and took the pieces of Star Road back into the sky so they could be reassembled.
In the Nintendo Switch remake of the game, Geno shows Mario and Mallow how to use Triple Moves during the battle with Bowyer. Post-game, while Mario and company stay at the Marrymore inn using a Stay Voucher, Geno will spot new wishes appearing at Star Hill and asks Mario and party to investigate.
