Don't you feel the power? Soon everything will be corrupted. Including you!
~ Ghor, under the influence of Phazon Corruption

Ghor is one of the major supporting characters who appeared in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. He is once much larger than he currently is, until a huge battle to protect the planet Wotan VII costed him 94% of his original body. He is shown to be friendly and incredibly smart, but when he is in a fight, he becomes extremely aggressive and shows no mercy to anyone in his way. Ghor owns a gigantic armor suit designed so that it is compatible with his robotic body. Similar to Rundas and Gandrayda, he falls under Phazon corruption due to Dark Samus's attack that exposed them to the substance. Ghor is the second of the hunters to fall.

He was voiced by Edwin Neal.

Biography[]

Ghor makes an appearance on the G.F.S. Olympus alongside Gandrayda and Rundas where they meet with Samus entering the meeting room where FADM Dane lets them know that the Space Pirates have uploaded a virus that is harming the Galactic Federation Networks after they attacked the G.F.S. Valhalla which the soldiers there were training, and the Aurora Unit 313 has been stolen in the process. He gives them orders to install a vaccine into the network to get it back into working condition once more, and to find out what the Space Pirates are planning on doing. The Space Pirates picked the chance to attack Norion and the Federation Seventh Fleet, which then Ghor and the other hunters are given orders to protect the planet and the Federation from the Space Pirate invasion.

They are dispatched on the planet, and Ghor isn't seen until Samus is able to disable Generator A. He gets into a fight and defeats a Berserker Knight, allowing the path to Generator C to be free. He and the other bounty hunters were able to make it to the central tower to activate the planetary defense cannon to take out the Leviathan Seed before it could infect Norion. However, Dark Samus managed to blast all four of them, which caused Ghor, Rundas, and Gandrayda to lose consciousness immediately while Samus barely managed stay awake long enough to activate the cannon to destroy the Leviathan before she finally passes out.

Ghor, Rundas, and Gandrayda have awakened long before Samus did and they were given assignments on individual planets; Rundas on Bryyo, Ghor on Elysia, and Gandrayda on the Pirate Homeworld and are each given PEDs to help with their investigations on the assigned planets to destroy the Leviathan Seeds. Eventually, Ghor's misuse of his PED Suit has caused him to become corrupted by his internal Phazon that was implanted by Dark Samus, which he would become the Commander of the Space Pirates, under Dark Samus's loyalty. As a result, he destroys the power lines that connect the Aurora Unit 217 to the Galactic Federation Network. Clad in his armor suit, he goes out to the Landing Site where Samus's Gunship had rested and inflicts damage upon it and throws it in Samus's direction, before they engage in battle. Samus would eventually succeed in defeating Ghor, and as he tries to regain his lost senses, he attempts to turn his armor suit into his Gunship, but it explodes leaving him in his base form. Dark Samus takes advantage of his state to extract the Phazon from him, as she did with Rundas on Bryyo and Ghor's remains disintegrate and disappear, leaving behind the Plasma Beam upgrade for Samus to obtain before proceeding to destroy the Leviathan Seed to save Elysia.

Samus finds herself fighting the corrupted Gandrayda on the Pirate Homeworld before she suffers a similar fate to the proceding bounty hunters, and she and the Federation would later launch an attack on Phaaze where Samus would personally defeat Dark Samus, the corrupted Aurora Unit 313, which causes Phaaze, the source of the Phazon's existence, to be ultimately destroyed. This in turn avenges the deaths of Ghor, Rundas, and Gandrayda. In the aftermath, Samus would return to Elysia where she would mourn the loss of her fallen comrades and to get her thoughts sorted out before she sets out on her next adventure.
