Glamrock Freddy Fazbear is the titular deuteragonist of Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach, the ninth mainline installment of the Five Nights at Freddy's franchise.
He is the mascot and main animatronic of Freddy Fazbear's Mega PizzaPlex who eventually becomes Gregory's best friend, helping the child escape from the remaining animatronics that have been hacked into following Vanny's orders.
He is voiced by Kellen Goff, whom voiced several of Freddy's counterparts throughout the franchise, the Daycare Attendant from the same series, Senpai from Night Is Short, Walk on Girl, Sasaki Shuumei from Sasaki and Miyano, Fiddlesticks from League of Legends, and Wind Archer Cookie from Cookie Run: Kingdom. In the non-canon spin-off Security Breach: Fury's Rage, he is voiced by Matt Ellis.
Appearance[]
Glamrock Freddy is based off the original Freddy Fazbear, but with an early UK 1970's vibe. Similar to Toy Freddy, he has a top hat with a thin stripe just above its brim, abit blue instead of red. His microphone is now on a stand in which Glamrock Freddy holds, and is a more rectangular shape. A light blue stripe is seen in the center of his bottom jaw. Around Glamrock Freddy's eyes is sky blue face-paint with a thinner bright red outline. Glamrock Freddy's teeth also resemble more of what actual bear teeth look like, having 4 sharp fangs and a lower row of teeth. Additionally, he has a red earring on his left ear and a light blue lightning bolt on his chest. Like his three friends, Freddy’s casing becomes dirtier and cracked as the night progresses.
In the numerous posters throughout the game and in the beginning cutscene he has baby blue irises, but when the game actually begins he is shown to have ghostly white irises instead. He also dons the signature Fazbear bow tie, but after he is upgraded by Gregory with Chica's voice box his bow tie color changes from black to purple.
Personality[]
Unlike all the animatronics in the franchise, who are either homicidal, vengeful, sadistic, or tragic grey zone characters, Glamrock Freddy is a friendly, honest, selfless, heroic, and trustworthy harmless character who doesn’t harm children, initially introduced as a bookish, straightforward entertainer. He is shown to be protective and caring for the lives of children, most notably his best friend, Gregory, by keeping him safe at all times while he is trapped inside the PizzaPlex and keeping him away from Vanny and his corrupted friends at all costs, going as far as allowing him to hide in his stomach (albeit he is at first uncomfortable to do so as his compartment is not suited to hide humans), and quickly establishes a bond with him by affectionately calling him "superstar", to the point they formed a father and son-like relationship throughout their adventure. He is also extremely nice and polite to everyone, as he often apologizes, even when he hasn't done anything wrong, and doesn't hold any grudge against anyone who wronged him.
He's a little oblivious, as he was confused about Gregory's statement of claiming he's seen a "Dancing Rabbit Lady" when they first encounter Vanny for the first time (although he couldn't see her without Roxanne Wolf's eyes), and when he's upgraded with the other Glamrocks' parts, as seen when he gets upgraded with Montgomery Gator's claws and almost not knowing his new eyes were from Roxy, as well as almost having an identity crisis when he enters the Endo Warehouse where he questions himself if there are more like him. He greatly cares for his animatronic friends like Chica and Roxy (except Moon and Monty), even after they become aggressive and violent. This is demonstrated when he is hesitant to take both their upgrades that would help him, since they are for his friends, and is generally saddened about what they became as he claimed they were "angry and confused" when he and Gregory enter the underground Pizza Place. He also encourages Gregory to say hello to the DJ and expresses that he misses Bonnie when in the bowling alley, and seems to have a close friendship with him, as evidenced by a signed poster in Bonnie's former Green Room that states they'll be together forever and ever.
Despite him being a robot made to entertain children, he has clear moral agency and was capable of emotion, as well as being aware of his reality, such as when he gets agitated after he finds out that Gregory snuck into his stomach hatch without him knowing and as he begs Vanessa not to leave him with his head disconnected in Parts and Service, and even states in one of the endings that he finally had changed to have a choice and claimed he was no longer his corrupted self. He also has a great moral code to serve as a good role model for young children, as he reprimands Gregory if he tries to enter Fazer Blast while inside of him to cheat as he claims it was wrong to do so. However, should Gregory make a mistake while upgrading him or run out of power while inside of him, Glamrock Freddy will become hostile, implying that he still suffers from glitches. However, it is stated when maintenance begins, animatronic safety measures are disabled, so that may be the cause of his attacks during this phase. It can also happen if Freddy becomes corrupted by Glitchtrap in Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Place. Additionally, in the Tales from the Pizzaplex stories, it was revealed that before meeting Gregory, he used to be corrupted by Glitchtrap (under the alias "the Storyteller") like his bandmates, as his personality was heavily altered and became a spoiled brat by trying to steal a Freddy plushie from a little girl and ends up crying in his Green Room afterward (even though this was all against his will at that time).
History[]
Tales from the Pizzaplex[]
Glamrock Freddy is the lead singer in the Glamrock band and the mascot of the Fazer-Blast attraction alongside the other Glamrock Animatronics. This area is a laser tag arena featuring large cutouts of Glamrock Freddy, Montgomery Gator, Glamrock Chica, and Roxanne Wolf. The stories "GGY" and "The Storyteller" explain how Freddy was formerly hacked and reprogrammed by both the Storyteller and Gregory to serve under Vanny's orders. Following this hacking, he started to make antagonistic appearances in these stories. Tony discovers that someone under the initials GGY scores highly on several arcade machines. As Tony is investigating, he bumps into Glamrock Freddy. Tony is unsettled as he stares at him in complete silence.
The next time Tony goes to the Pizzaplex, he sneaks into one of the kiosks to look for GGY in the establishment's databases. Once he's done, he notices Glamrock Freddy walking towards him. When he tries to run, Glamrock Freddy starts sprinting. Tony can evade him and escape. But Glamrock Freddy continues to watch him whenever Tony is in the Pizzaplex. Later on, his personality is heavily altered by the Storyteller AI where he starts acting like a spoiled brat, trying to steal a Freddy plushie from a little girl and then going to his room to cry.
Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach[]
However, all that changed one night when he's performing on stage with his friends, he has a malfunction and collapses on stage, causing the show to be canceled. After waking up in his Green Room, he finds out a little boy named Gregory had sneaked into his stomach compartment, much to his shock on realizing that he was the only guest who did not leave the Pizzaplax and promises to get him out immediately before the place close it's doors.
Glamrock Freddy's role in the game is vastly different from previous Freddy incarnations, as he acts as a supporting protagonist by helping Gregory hide from Vanny and the other animatronics. Throughout the game, Gregory can hide inside Glamrock Freddy's torso hatch to hide from the other hostile animatronics. However, Gregory can only do this for a limited amount of time, as Glamrock Freddy's battery can run out, and he won't be able to use him until the start of the next hour. Also, if he's inside Freddy when he runs out of battery, he will malfunction and accidentally cause his death. Gregory can, however, find a Recharging Station to recharge him. Gregory can upgrade Glamrock Freddy in Parts and Service, after he is dragged there by the Daycare Attendant. These upgrades include Roxy's eyes, which help Glamrock Freddy see gift boxes, message bags, and CDs through the walls, Monty's claws, which help Glamrock Freddy open chained gates marked with a "No Monty" sign, and Glamrock Chica's voice box, which can stun S.T.A.F.F. Bots and makes the other 3 flee when used. However, Gregory must be careful when upgrading Glamrock Freddy, as he is not himself when his head is detached from the rest of his body, and if he makes a mistake in the repairing process, Glamrock Freddy will jumpscare him.
At 6 AM, Glamrock Freddy will give Gregory a choice; either leave the Pizzaplex and live his life, stay at the Pizzaplex, or solve the mystery of Vanny. In the canon ending, the two confront Vanny in Fazer Blast. Freddy and Gregory complete all three Princess Quest arcade games to save Vanny. While she sends out as horde of S.T.A.F.F. Bots to disassemble Freddy, Gregory manages to complete the games and defeat Glitchtrap from the inside, redeeming Vanny. Freddy survives, although as a severed head, and the trio leave the PizzaPlex together.
Alternate Endings[]
- In the Burntrap Ending, Gregory and Glamrock Freddy head down into the sewers, they find a sinkhole containing Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Place, with "Burntrap" and Tangle inside it. Once in a while during the final confrontation, Glamrock Freddy will glitch out, trying to fight Burntrap's control. At this point, Gregory mustn't hide inside of Glamrock Freddy or he will lose control and kill him. Afterwards, Glamrock Freddy than escapes with Gregory out into the world, away from the destroyed Pizzaplex..
- If they pursue the Disassembled Ending, Glamrock Freddy is destroyed by Vanny's S.T.A.F.F. Bots. Gregory goes back to Glamrock Freddy after Vanny's demise, where he utters his caring last words, "You are my superstar," then shuts off.
- In the Protector Ending, Glamrock Freddy burns down the gift shop with a lighter in his finger. When both he and Gregory go up to the roof, Vanny attacks. Now seeing her thanks to Roxy's eyes, he tackles her off the rooftop, with them both dying in the process.
Ruin[]
Glamrock Freddy does not appear in-person at all in the DLC, with a headless, hostile version of him roaming the Pizzaplex instead, although whether this headless Freddy is his old body following the Princess Quest Ending or a different model is unknown. However, it's likely either he or Vanessa are the "friend" Gregory mentions that possesses directions for the Pizzaplex's underground, implying that both the trio are alive and well on the surface.
Five Nights at Freddy's: Help Wanted 2[]
Glamrock Freddy first appears in the "Cold Storage" minigame, where he is stuck frozen in the freezer after trying to retrieve an ice cream cake. The player must use a heat/frost gun to defrost and cool him as well as change his faulty parts, whist making sure not to let him reach extreme temperatures or he'll malfunction and kill them. Afterwards, the player must retrieve the ice cream cake and replace it with another one so that Freddy's alarms do not go off.

Trivia[]
- Glamrock Freddy is the second animatronic in the Five Nights at Freddy's franchise who directly assists the protagonist, the first being Circus Baby from Five Nights at Freddy's: Sister Location. By contrast, she revealed that she was only pretending to be on the player's side until the end of the game.
- With that being said, Glamrock Freddy is the first animatronic of the franchise who genuinely wants to help the player with no ulterior motives. He would then be followed by Roxanne Wolf.
- Additionally, he's the only animatronic in the series that helps the player without being a villain of any kind, not counting his headless Ruin counterpart or when he is brainwashed by Glitchtrap.
- Before it was revealed that Glamrock Freddy wasn't going to be an antagonist, there were various hints that he was going to be helping Gregory rather than trying to attack him. One of which is his 12'' statue, where he can be seen trying to hide from Vanny with Gregory in his chest compartment.
- Glamrock Freddy and Funtime Freddy are the only versions of Freddy Fazbear to feature an open chest gimmick, though the latter's is only mentioned.
- Glamrock Freddy is also the only Freddy Fazbear's incarnation who used other Animatronics parts to upgraded himself, rather than merged into single entity.
- Glamrock Freddy is the first Glamrock animatronic to be rebooted back to their original programming.
- These would be followed by Sun, and Roxanne Wolf perspectively.
- Famous bisexual singers like Freddie Mercury and David Bowie seems to be the inspiration for this version of Freddy.
- According to an interview with Dawko, Kellen Goff states that Scott Cawthon inspired his Glamrock Freddy voice off of Optimus Prime (albeit with a cuddly tone).
- Freddy's chest compartment is referred to as a "Birthday Cake Hatch" on the Playstation Blog, and by Freddy himself.
- In one of Freddy’s unused lines, he was supposed to tell Gregory about that some guests would talk about him behind his back about how dangerous he was in the past. However, Freddy explained that it wasn’t him, but his past incarnations and that he would never harm anyone.
- Freddy keeps a bowling ball in his room as a reminder of his friend, Glamrock Bonnie, who has died before the events of the game.
- With the release of Ruin DLC, it's shown the two were extremely close, with Bonnie's Green Room even having a poster signed "You and me, forever and ever! Love, Freddy".
- It's also theorized by fans that the two were actually in a relationship, considering the fact the Glamrock culture is tied to the LGBT+ community and Bonnie's room had a poster signed "Love, Freddy". If this were to be true, then that would mean that Glamrock Freddy is the first LGBTQ character in the series.
- If one listens closely in the vent near Glamrock Bonnie's room, they can hear a recording of Glamrock Freddy performing the FNaF beatbox before singing a birthday song. Said song is also sung by Roxy as background noise in another area.
- Despite Glamrock Freddy having a shattered version in a promotion picture, it went unused in the final game (only appearing briefly in the Disassemble Freddy ending in comic style).
- However, his prototype headless counterpart from DLC Ruin does resembles his shattered version, causing speculation they are same robot, and that the heroic Glamrock Freddy was always been prototype animatronic.
- As revealed in Help Wanted 2, Freddy's nose makes the iconic squeaky noise that emits from the noses of other Freddy-related items in the franchise when pressed.
- It's unknown what Freddy's "I AM NOT ME" line is supposed to mean (considering he does not appear again after the base game physically), but it could possibly means he is no longer a pawn controlled by Glitchtrap or Vanny due to him stating that he now has a choice and that he has changed into the animatronic he is now.
- Despite being a major character in the base game of Security Breach, he doesn't make a physical appearance in the DLC Ruin and is only reduced to a mentioned character. That said, it's been theorized the headless prototype Freddy is actually the same Glamrock Freddy from the base game, and he was a prototype all along.
