Godzilla is the main protagonist in the one-shot comic Godzilla vs. Cthulhu: A Death May Die Story.
Appearance[]
Godzilla has similar design to his Heisei counterpart.
Personality[]
Godzilla shown to be territorial seeing Cthulhu as a absolute threat to him and chased him all the way to Boston. He seemly ignored the humans even when they attacked him with Atom Smasher cannons and left Boston after defeating the Great Old One.
History[]
When the Nightmare Children used a ritual to wake up Cthulhu’s presence of absorbing the life force and killing marine life woke up the monster king up from his slumber.
Eventually Sandra would see follow Godzilla swimming past her boat where she alerted her allies Satella and Mike Kozolv that an second monster heading towards Boston where Cthulhu is rampaging.
As Cthulhu is rampaging in Boston, Godzilla would throw an boat into Cthulhu's head when he arrived and the two monsters would face off against each other. Cthulhu would shock Godzilla with his red electricity and grab Godzilla with his tentacles before breaking free and punch the Great Old One as their battle cause destruction in Boston. Eventually Cthulhu traps Godzilla in a illusion of kaiju he previously fought againdt attacking him until X-A Airships attacked both monsters with the Atom Smasher Canons where it manage to heavily injure Godzill while Cthulhu took little to no damage. However Godzilla managed to absorb the beams energy as Godzilla glow hot and fire an orange spiral that critically injured the Great Old One causing Cthulhu to be rendered inactivate.
Mike Kozlov didn’t know what happened to Godzilla but considered the monster king a hero for saving the world from Cthulhu. Godzilla is revealed to return to his underwater cave standing.

- Godzilla was planned to fight Cthulhu in a unmade film that ultimately became Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla and later an rejected Infestation: 2 Comic by IDW Publishing but both instances were scrapped.[1][2]
- The human characters has not refereed Godzilla by name in the comic. He was only called a "Big Lizard" by Mike Kozlov.
- This is the first version of Godzilla appearing in the 1920's based setting.
- Godzilla only used his atomic breath once and was not shown using his normal atomic breath and used a orange spiral ray, likely due to the comic taking place before nuclear age, he had no energy to use his atomic breath until he absorbed the Atom Smasher Canon’s energy fired at him.
