Golden Freddy is one of the two overarching protagonists (alongside Henry Emily) of the Five Nights at Freddy's Novel Trilogy.
He was once a child named Michael Brooks and apart of Charlotte Emily's friend group with him being very close to Carlton Burke. However in 1985, Michael was one of five children lured away and murdered by a man named William Afton and he would go on to possess the animatronic Fredbear becoming Golden Freddy. Ten years later when Charlie and her friends attend Michael’s memorial they decide to go to Freddy Fazbear's Pizza for old times sake only to be confronted by the possessed animatronics who attempt to kill them. However Golden Freddy is able to call them off and save them. Later on Michael's spirit helps Carlton to band together his fellow missing children and defeat their killer for good. With Afton dead Michael and the rest of the spirits pass on into the afterlife.
Appearance[]
As a human Michael was a seven year old child with a fair skin complexion and dirty blonde hair. For his attire he wore a blue shirt and matching pants
As Golden Freddy he appeared identical to the original Freddy. However he was bright yellow in color and had black eyes with small white pupils.
Personality[]
As a human Michael was always a benevolent, kind, empathetic, and friendly child loved by all. It is for this reason his death left many heartbroken and saddened especially his parents. Despite being trapped inside Golden Freddy for ten years he did not become vengeful or homicidal like his fellow victims, he still reattained his kind nature and was more worried about protecting those he cared about than killing Afton. He remembered his friends and the good times they had which is why he saved them all from the animatronics. He also deeply cared about his fellow victims having tried to keep them all together when they were being brainwashed and controlled by Afton. He also did not want history to repeat itself as he saved Afton from killing another child named Jacob and was relived he was okay as he ensured no one got to suffer like he did. He ultimately gave Carlton a piece of his soul so he could survive and assured him that he could give it back to him when they see each other again in the afterlife.
Synopsis[]
Before becoming Golden Freddy, Michael Brooks was born in circa 1978 to Joan and Donald Brooks. He was friends with both Carlton Burke, Charlotte Emily and their group of friends. However in 1985, Michael along with five other kids would be lured to the backroom at Freddy's and killed by a man named William Afton. William then stuffed his body into the Fredbear suit to hide the evidence. Sadly, William never faced justice and Michael parents and Carlton were left heartbroken.
The Silver Eyes[]
Ten years later Charlie, Carlton and their friends attend a memorial dedicated to Michael. However they end up going to Freddy's for old time sake which results in Carlton's kidnapping. He is first discovered by Carlton Burke, who is currently trapped in a springlock suit. When Carlton's kidnapper, William Afton, leaves the room, Carlton notices a yellow Freddy costume sitting in the corner with two small, glowing pupils in its eyes.
Golden Freddy begins speaking, though not aloud, and Carlton realizes that Golden Freddy is haunted by the spirit of his childhood friend, Michael Brooks, one of William Afton's previous victims. As Charlie enters the room to rescue Carlton, he points out Golden Freddy in the corner, and informs her that he was Michael all along. Once Carlton is released from the suit with Charlie's help, Golden Freddy mysteriously vanishes without a trace.
As Freddy Fazbear and his cohorts come to life and attack the teenagers aggressively, they end up in the main room, where they proceed to form a circle around them, and as they are about to lunge, all four of them stop in place, Golden Freddy now standing in the corner, revealing that he had the power to stop them from hurting his friends. After this, the other animatronics finally notice that they have been attacking the wrong people. Golden Freddy "speaks" once again to all his friends, revealing himself as Michael.
The other animatronics become much more docile and friendly around them, showing the intelligence behind the robots. The yellow bear slumps back to the corner as Carlton's father busts down a wall in the restaurant to rescue everyone. As Charlie and her friends attempt to leave, William Afton, now wearing the Spring Bonnie suit, grabs her around the neck and threatens to choke her to death unless the party obeys him. Enraged at her assailant, Charlie reaches into the Spring Bonnie head and triggers the spring locks. This causes William to have a slow and painful end. One by one, the four animatronics approach him and drag their dying murderer into the darkness of the pizzeria.
The Twisted Ones[]
John, Jessica, and Clay Burke went to see Freddy, Withered Bonnie, Chica, Foxy, and Golden Freddy inside of Clay's basement to save Charlie from William Afton (who is now referred to as Springtrap) Twisted Freddy, Twisted Wolf, and Twisted Bonnie. When John crouched down in front of Golden Freddy, and he saw a little spark of light. John knew that Golden Freddy was still possessed by their old friend Michael Brooks and the children that were murdered by William Afton. When John tried to convince the animatronics to help them find and rescue Charlie, he had mentioned Afton's name. The four main animatronics suddenly began to twitch and shake violently on the floor. When John, Jessica and Clay were surrounded by Twisted Wolf and Twisted Bonnie in the underground pizzeria, the four main animatronics began to attack the Twisted animatronics. Golden Freddy, however, did not show up to the pizzeria.
The Fourth Closet[]
Its endoskeleton and the ones of the other four animatronics haunted by the missing children, are fused together by Afton and Circus Baby into an heinous amalgamation of wires and metal. When Afton injects molten metal from the amalgamation into Carlton's heart, the teenager passes on, apparently dying. However, he later reawakens and finds himself able to see the souls of the missing children. Michael asks Carlton to help him retrieve the pieces of a drawing and to put it back together, which he does, causing the souls to reobtain their memories and use the amalgamation's body to attack Afton, dragging him into the furnace. Before passing on into the afterlife, Michael puts his drawing on Carlton's chest, allowing him to live on.
Trivia[]
- This incarnation of Golden Freddy is the only version of the character to be heroic if one does not count the Princess who has yet to be confirmed to have been Golden Freddy.

Whereas they were vengeful, sadistic, spiteful and vindictive spirits who wanted nothing more than to make Afton suffer and even harmed innocent people, this Golden Freddy only cares about protecting the innocent and helping his friends.
- He can be considered the novel trilogy's version of the Puppet due to his benevolent nature as the Puppet never came to be in this universe.
