Biography[]

Brewer was going to meet up with his wife Anne and his son Matthew at a plaza of the Colombian consulate in Los Angeles, when a bomb in a stolen police motorcycle goes off and kills nine people, including Anne and Matthew in front of the horrified Gordon's eyes. Remembering that he saw a cop and realizing he talked to the bomber responsible, he learns the bomber's identity as Claudio Perrini, suspected to be the terrorist known as "El Lobo" ("The Wolf").

After his family's funeral, Brewer watched the news of "The Wolf" has escaped and that he wants America to pull out their troops out of Colombia or more bombings will happen in American soil. He also saw the spokesman of the Latin American community that his family's death is referred as "collateral damage", which enraged him. He confronted the spokesman on his workplace and causes damage to it, demanding to know where "The Wolf" is until FBI agents were forced to subdue him. Frustrated with the red tape of the investigation and suspecting that no one will bring his family's murderers in justice, Brewer, after studying the hostile environment of Colombia and getting advice from a former military advisor with knowledge of Colombia, travels to the country to get "The Wolf" himself.

After seeing the American occupation of Colombia, Brewer arrived in Mompós and finds himself arrested to entering Colombia illegally as well as the guerrillas who set out to capture him. While imprisoned, he met with Canadian mechanic Sean Armstrong who has access to the guerrilla zone. Then Claudio and a group of guerrillas stage a prison break to free their comrades and kidnap Brewer. But Brewer and Armstrong escaped capture and Armstrong gives him his pass and tells to see drug runner Felix Ramirez, who is the manager of the cocaine distribution facility that finances the guerrillas. After disguising himself as a mechanic to replace Armstrong, Brewer rigs several improvised explosives and destroys the facility. While hiding from the guerrillas, he witnessed Felix's execution after he was blamed for the destruction. After finding Claudio in his headquarters, he plants a makeshift bomb to kill him. But before leaving, he sees a woman name Selena and her child Mauro nearby and saves them, but it allows Claudio to survive as the bomb kill some of the guerrillas. He was immediately captured afterwards.

Brewer learns that Selena is Claudio's wife. She reveals to Brewer that she and Claudio once lost their own daughter during an American attack, which compelled Claudio to become a terrorist. Selena found and adopted Mauro, whose parents were killed in the same attack. Selena eventually sympathizes with him and warned that Claudio is in Washington to commit another terrorist attack.

After an American unit arrives and attacks the guerrilla camp, Brewer berates the CIA agent Peter Brandt for using him to kill the guerrillas and killing innocent people to stop the drug war. He, along with Selena and Brandt, went to Washington to stop Claudio. After Selena identified Claudio's target is Union Station, she decided to head to the lavatory and becomes irritated when Mauro refuses to come with her. When Brewer sees Selena make the same gesture as the masked man who claimed to be El Lobo in the tape, he realizes that she was The Wolf all along, and Claudio serves as her figurehead, and that the entire motive behind their cause is personal revenge for the death of their daughter at the hands of the US.

While going after Selena, Brewer rightly deduced that she was present when they bombed the Colombian consulate in Los Angeles. He also realized that the plan to bomb Union Station was a fake and the real target was the State Department, using him to get Selena through the building's security. Brewer discovered that Mauro's toy dinosaur had the bomb and quickly throws it out a window seconds before it explodes. Leaving Mauro in the hands of the FBI, he pursues Selena.

After Brewer chases Selena to the basement of the building, he saw she and Claudio rode off through the tunnels on a motorcycle. He finds the tunnel control console and shuts all the gates down, preventing their escape. After finding a fire axe, Brewer uses it to rupture some gas lines along the walls of the tunnel. Then he sees the Perrinis arriving back and shouted out that their rampage is over, which Selena rebukes and shoots at Brewer, unwittingly igniting the gas. Brewer jumps through a doorway just as the entire tunnel explodes. Thinking that his family's murderers are dead, he looks around at the damage, but Selena and Claudio survive the blast and attacked him simultaneously. After a short, hand-to-hand fight, Brewer tossed Selena on the exposed circuitry of the control panel and is electrocuted. After the enraged Claudio knocked down Brewer and prepares to detonate the larger bomb to destroy the State Department. But Brewer sees the axe is near him and throws it into Claudio's chest, killing him. Brewer stares down at the bodies of Claudio and Selena, finally avenging his family's deaths.

Brewer leaves the building in the aftermath and is reunited with Mauro. It was announced that the President will receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom for stopping one of the worst terrorist attacks in U.S. history from happening.
