Gort is an Autobot Nebulan Headmaster from the Transformers franchise which he serves as the one of the tritagonists (along with his Nebulan soldiers) in The Rebirth.
Biography[]
Gort is the leader of the Nebulan resistance. He had a normal and peaceful life until Nebulos was enslaved by the Hive led by Lord Zarak. Fortunately, Gort and his soldiers successfully escaped from the Hive and lived in the cave in order to find a way to defeat the Hive. As the Autobots arrived on Nebulos by crash landing, Duros and Pinpointed spotted them and warned Gort that they thought the Autobots were the Hive machines. Gort trapped the Autobots by capturing them and was going to blow them up by using the magnetic bombs. But luckily, Spike ordered Gort to release the Autobots as the Decepticons arrived and attacked them. As the others Autobots are kidnapped, Gort and his soldiers warned the Autobot Headmasters not to go near the forest that was guarded by the Hive machines. He told the Autobots the their planet was in danger and how the Hive took over. Gort then became a Headmaster partner to Highbrow. As Gort successfully destroyed the Hive machines and defeated the Decepticons, but the whole battle was watched by Lord Zarak and the Hive as the machines was placed with surveillance cameras. Zarak watched the whole battle and captured the Decepticons in order to become their Headmasters partners so they can gain new powers to destroy Gort and the Autobots. The Hive later became the Decepticons Headmasters and Target masters, and Zarak created the largest Headmaster Decepticon, Scorponok. Gort and the Autobots battled the Decepticon Headmasters and Targetmasters and Arcee successfully took the key of the Plasma Energy Chamber. But the victory was short-lived as Scorponok emerged from underground and kidnapped Arcee and Daniel. Gort and the Autobots travelled to Cybertron and they found the whole team was going to die. Gort led his men to make a run so they can destroy the key of the Plasma Energy Chamber. Fortunately, Spike arrived on Cybertron to defeat Scorponok and the Decepticons and successfully shutting down the chamber and restore Cybertron to it's Golden Age. Gort later returned to Nebulos, along with the Autobots and announced that they will bring an end to the Hive machines for good.
Personalities[]
Gort has a bright and calm personality. He has shown a bit of rebellious and remorse as he thought the Autobots were the Hive machines but showed his true colors to the Autobots after freeing them and saved Daniel Witwicky.
Trivia[]
- Gort has a different characteristic. His skin color is green in the cartoon and is pure skin color like a human in the Marvel Comics.
- Gort is alive in the cartoon and is dead in the comics as he was crushed by Unicorn's hands during the battle.
- Gort has been the resistant leader for years as he told the Autobots that they had been fighting the Hive ever since.
- Gort is single in the cartoon. He has a girlfriend called Marita in the Marvel Comics.
- He is later named Xort for the Titans Returns toy. Presumably due to trademark reasons.
