Gosalyn Waddlemeyer-Mallard, also known as Quiverwing Quack, Crimson Quackette, and Gosmoduck in her superheroine alter-egos, is the adopted daughter of Drake Mallard and the deuteragonist of the 1991-1992 Disney series Darkwing Duck. Most of the show is based on Drake and Gosalyn's father-daughter relationship (at least in the episodes in which she appears, as she does not appear in every one; only Drake and Launchpad have that distinction). Gosalyn is a very spunky, athletic, and spirited nine-year-old tomboy who often gets into trouble. She is very bright and often finds loopholes within her own promises, allowing her to get her way.

She was originally voiced by the late Christine Cavanaugh, who also voiced Chuckie Finster from Rugrats, Bunnie Rabbot from Sonic the Hedgehog (SatAM), Oblina from Aah! Real Monsters, Dexter from Dexter's Laboratory, and Babe from Babe, and also live-acted as Mona from Salute Your Shorts.

Personality[]

In the first cliffhanger, Gosalyn starts out as spirited, cute, very energetic, bright, kind, rambunctious, athletic, sweet, caring, brave, pushy, spunky, and tomboyish. In the second cliffhanger, her personality has become forthright, honest, sassy and sarcastic, and she gets very jealous of her father getting to go on adventures all the time. In the overall TV show, she is reduced to being mischievous, quick-tempered, loud, inconsiderate, and rebellious.

History[]

Season 1[]

In "Darkly Dawns the Duck: Part 1", Gosalyn was kidnapped for an orphanage by Hammerhead Hannigan but Darkwing saved her, after that he was chased by the police for a misunderstanding and Launchpad begging him to accept him as his sidekick. She arrives safely at Darkwing's hideout.

In "Darkly Dawns the Duck: Part 2", Gosalyn and Darkwing were getting to know each other, she got into Darkwing's breakfast course and she succeeded it with on problem, later Gosalyn sang her grandfather's lullaby along with Darkwing and it turned out that has the code for The Ramrod, later when Darkwing believed that Taurus Bulba gave up, she warned him that it could be a trap but he didn't believed it, Taurus Bulba's henchmen came after Gosalyn, she defended herself but she got captured anyway. After Taurus Bulba received the code, he threw Gosalyn to her death but she was saved by Launchpad, when she assumed that Darkwing was dead, she was back at the orphanage but she was deepressed. Later a duck named Drake Mallard came looking for Gosalyn and she realized that he is Darkwing Duck, and she was relieved to see him alive. In the end Drake adopted Gosalyn and starts living with him and Launchpad as a family.

In "Bearskin Thug", Gosalyn was enjoying the day with Honker until she found out that it's camping season and she hid all the camping stuff as she was explaining to Honker that she hates camping but Drake came and found all the camping stuff by accident and he was so happy that it's camping season again, Gosalyn tried to stop the camping trip but her dad always had a solution for everything, they had their camping before and after the Muddlefoots arrived to join in, later Gosalyn encountered Steelbeak, his Eggmen and Fang. As she was held hostage as Steelbeak explained that he hates nature, which made her feel bad and that he is planning to destroy the forest. Steelbeak put Gosalyn on top of a geyser in order to get rid of her but she got saved by Darkwing and she helped Darkwing defeat Fang, Steelbeak and his Eggmen.

In "Comic Book Capers", she distracted her father and added other antagonists besides Megavolt in her father's comic book script until her father caught her.
