Grandmama Addams is the grand-matriarch of the Addams Family. Grandmama is Gomez and Fester's mother. She is the sister of Great Aunt Sloom. Grandmama is called in by the rest of the family when they either suspect supernatural-activity behind a problem or just encounter something that leaves them stumped as she is both old and well traveled. It has been established that Grandmama has been around since Medieval times but how old she is exactly is anyone's guess. Grandmama is an expert cook and alchemist, although she does frequently get the two hobbies mixed up. Grandmama is also a practicing witch though her senility has lead to her spells often fizzling.

In the 1991 film, she was portrayed by Judith Malina. In Addams Family Values, she was portrayed by Carol Kane. In the 90s cartoon show, she was voiced by the late Carol Channing. In the 2019 animated movie, she was voiced by Bette Midler who also voiced Georgette from Disney’s Oliver & Company.
