~ Grand Conductor |
The Great Conductor is the overarching protagonist of the game Mario & Luigi: Brothership. He is the guardian of Concordia.
Description[]
Physical Appearance[]
The Great Conductor is a giant creature of porcine form of the same species as Snoutlet. He has a yellow face holding his eyes (resembling an outlet), and his limbs are stubby (albeit still somewhat functional). His body is pink and his belly is white, and a pair of wings holds him aloft. A green extension cable is tied around his waist, resembling a sumo champion's belt. He has a plushie of himself that is used to start the Conductor Connector Bros. Attack.
Personality[]
Initially, the Great Conductor demonstrates a wise, dignified personality, though he reveals this to be an act when defeated in battle, and he speaks with a more informal tone. He also has a prankster side, where he pretends to die and disintegrate, only to reappear, which Snoutlet finds to his dismay.
History[]
At the very start of the game, the Great Conductor uses his power to bring Mario and Luigi to Concordia after Zokket and his minions sunder it. Princess Peach, Bowser, and their subjects get brought into Concordia as well. The Great Conductor remains hidden in the depths of a forest on Conductor Island to avoid Zokket's wrath.
Later, when Mario and Luigi escape Zokket's fortress after the defeat and destruction of Glohm Bowser, they receive a message to jump from the fortress into the sea. They end up washing ashore on Conductor Island, where their guide, Snoutlet, leads them to the Great Conductor's location. The Great Conductor then reveals his role in Luigi's acquirement of the Luigi Logic skill and the fact that Snoutlet is his agent, and tests the strength of Mario and Luigi's Bond in battle. Upon defeat, he unblocks the path to the Lighthouse of Conductor Island, which the Bros. connect.
At the end of the game, Mario and Luigi return to Conductor Island where they find that they are one bond short. The Great Conductor tells them that their enemies can have Bonds, too, hinting at the Extension Corps, whom they visit after they and the Great Conductor finish talking. He then provides Mario the last Bros. Attack, the Conductor Connector, in which the Great Conductor is teleported to the battlefield via a plushie and connects his extension cord belt to satellites, allowing him to fire a powerful laser from his rear at the targeted enemy.
After the Bros. defeat Reclusa and restore Concordia, the Great Conductor uses the last of his power to send every Mushroom World denizen back to the Mushroom Kingdom. He then returns to Conductor Island.
