Greenlight is a background character in the episode The Search for Alpha Trion, one of the female Autobots who is part of Elita-One's resistance cell. Before without unnamed and appearing in background roles, she became known for her interest in Cybertron's history and archaeology, even as she fought alongside her fellow Female Autobots against the Decepticons after their long period in hiding.
In later years, it was confirmed that Greenlight had romantic feelings for Arcee.
History[]
Cartoon[]
Greenlight was a member of the Female Autobots, an underground resistance movement on Cybertron. They were thought destroyed until they were rediscovered in modern times.
Greenlight was manning a series of monitors in the team's secret underground headquarters when Chromia and her team returned from their energy-stealing mission. When their headquarters was located and destroyed, she and Lancer freed Moonracer from the debris. Sticking with the rest of the team, she did her share in the fight against the Decepticons and could again later be seen manning a series of monitors in the team's new base.
Wings Universe[]
Greenlight and Lancer were amateur historians and the assistants of the archaeometrist named Glyph. They were assigned to Flipsides's excavation site in Median, where they uncovered a mysterious artifact known as the Heart of the Dragon. Unfortunately, Decepticon raiders from Quarex also learned of their discovery. They requested aid from the Autobot Elite Guard to defend themselves and their find. Greenlight helped Strika, Lancer and the Elite Guard fortify Median against Rage's Stormtroopers. Unlike her fellow neophyte Lancer, however, Greenlight showed no interest in engaging the enemy. She remained in hiding near the dig with Glyph and Flip Sides while the others fought off the Decepticons. Rage and Aquablast managed to infiltrate the defenses and reach the chamber where the historians were hiding, though, and Aquablast killed Glyph before Greenlight's optics. They were only saved by the last minute arrival of Lancer, wielding a borrowed laser weapon.
Comics[]
In IDW's 2005 continuity, Greenlight was a member of Elita One's female Autobot team aboard the spacefaring Titan Carcer. She and her friend Lancer were assigned to guard a space bridge, as there had been recent violent activity from Cybertronians using it. When the Autobots' energy reserves became dangerously low, Greenlight joined her comrades on Cybertron in stasis hibernation to conserve power.
In 2019 IDW, Greenlight is a xenobiologist who fell in love with Arcee after the War of the Threefold Spark, and with her partner, becomes the mentors and guardians of a young Cybertronian named Gauge. She assists with investigations into mysterious murders, using her biological expertise to help Ratchet with a forensic autopsy of the deceased Cybertronian Rubble, which reveals a common perpetrator in both cases and leaves her worried about Gauge's safety.
Other Media[]
War for Cybertron Trilogy marketing material[]
Greenlight is depicted in Trilogy marketing as a retool of the Siege Moonracer and Novastar figures. The marketing materials highlight her as an excellent addition to collections, especially for those building the "Orthia" combiner.
Transformers One[]
A female green bot could be seen among the generic, unnamed miners watching the broadcast revealing Sentinel Prime's crimes. She wasn't given a specific name in the film's production, but her appearance is based on that of a generic miner asset, and for the color, fans have identified this specific instance as the character of Greenlight.

Trivia[]
- Greenlight is a retool of the Moonracer/Novastar mold, meaning she shares the same basic transformation and structure but with some physical differences, notably in her hands which don't fold away in alt-mode.
- Greenlight was only known as the "Unnamed Green Female Autobot" for a 25 years until a 2005 comic storyline named "Flames of Yesterday" finally gave her a name.
