Gregorio Ricarte (popularly called as Chief Ricarte) is a supporting protagonist in the Filipino action drama TV series known as Black Rider.
He is a police officer based in Manila, Philippines having a rank of Colonel and assigned as the chief of police in their station. He is also a colleague and senior of Rafael Policarpio, the childhood friend of Elias Guerrero (Black Rider), who also helps him in some life-risking missions, such as facing the Golden Scorpion syndicate.
He is portrayed by Raymart Santiago, who also portrayed Victor Basco in FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.
Background[]
At some point, he joined in the police force and eventually promoted into Colonel for his service and dedication to his responsibility as a policeman in the country. It is also heavily implied that he has been serving his job for a long time and arresting all criminals, thanks to his skills as a police officer.
In some missions, he have faced Golden Scorpions, a criminal syndicate led by Edgardo Magallanes and Calvin Magallanes who are responsible in drug and human trafficking , with the help of some of his loyal allies such as Rafael Policarpio, Onat Perez, and more. As Elias Guerrero (Black Rider) has gone active in his vigilantism acts to avenge his family’s death thanks to Calvin and the gang, Ricarte and the police officers have been joining forces allying Black Rider in taking down the Golden Scorpion Syndicate.
He has been also became one of Elias Guerrero and Vanessa “Bane” Bartolome’s closest friend for helping them such as rescuing Neneng B from the hands of Congressman Aguilero and rescuing them in a hostage crisis in Mayor Alfonso Buenaventura’s bus heading to Baguio, City for a convention.

He is highly respected high ranking police officer thanks to his skills and loyalty to his job, as he is shown to be dedicated to his job’s pledge to serve and protect the people for the country. With this personality, this implies a reason why he is promoted as Colonel for being dedicated and loyal to his job for a long time service.
In the scene, that he was cornered by Congressman Aguilero and his men, he was spared to death and offered him a money instead as Aguilero’s way to evade authorities, he was seen rejecting the money despite of the huge sum. This is another indication that he is highly pledged to his job, as he chose not to take the money as he follows regulations in the law, that though shall not accept any gifts pertaining to corruption.
