Guardian Units of the Nation are a heroic organization present in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic book series by Archie Comics. They are the military force of the United Federation, protecting it and all of humanity from any threats that may befall them.
History[]
Pre-Super Genesis Wave[]
Guardian Units of the Nation were formed after the Xorda attack on Earth drove the surviving humans into hiding. As the United Federation's military force, its objective was to protect various human and Overlander territories.
Initially, G.U.N.'s approach to its mission was very ruthless, resulting in tragedies like the Space Colony ARK raid. As years went, its leadership became more benevolent. The organization also began interacting with Mobians more often and cooperate to counter threats like the Eggman Empire.
Post-Super Genesis Wave[]
Like in the old timeline, G.U.N. are the United Federation's military force. In the past, they were involved in a military stand-off of some sort with the Kingdom of Acorn, which allowed the defecting Dr. Eggman to pit the two against each other, but are currently allied with them. During the Shattered World Crisis, they provided assistance to affected regions, and sent a squad to thwart a second invasion attempt by the Black Arms.
Overview[]
G.U.N, is responsible for defending virtually all human settlements on Sonic's world. Their arsenal is expansive, including firearms, hordes of battle robots and vehicles equipped with weapons. This makes them more advanced than most Mobian groups, though they are still normally no match for Eggman Empire's forces.
