Gun Gibson is a gun-wielding robot built by Neo-Guild and the deuteragonist in Tokusou Robo Janperson. He initially appears as an antagonist in episodes 21 and 22, but later becomes one of Janperson's allies. He also has a robot girlfriend named Carol.
He is voiced by Shoya Torie.
Biography[]
Gun Gibson was originally an assassin robot built by Neo-Guild. He and his girlfriend Carol were assigned to a prison for robots run by Himuro, who was secretly collaborating with George Makabe to brainwash the robotic prisoners there into being soldiers for Neo-Guild. After receiving word of suspicious activity in the prison, Kaoru had Janperson disguise himself as a robot criminal and get sent to the prison to investigate. While there, Janperson learned from one of the scientists working at the prison what Himuro was doing and attempted to escape with the information. Gun Gibson and Carol were sent after him and managed to discover Janperson's true identity upon recapturing him.
Seeking a chance to fight Janperson, whose skills he had heard much about, Gun Gibson betrayed Neo-Guild and used Himuro's computer to set free all the robots in order to stage a prison riot, while he dueled Janperson. Surrounded by the now-free prisoners, Janperson and Gun Gibson dueled each other in a gun battle, only for their fight to be interrupted when Himuro arrived and assumed his true robotic form to destroy both of them. After Janperson destroyed Himuro, George Makabe set the prison to self-destruct, deeming it a failure, resulting in Carol's death.
Gun Gibson later vowed revenge against Neo-Guild for killing his girlfriend and began shooting any robots he saw who had Neo-Guild chips in them, even those who were not affiliated with the organization and were simply using parts from it. However, Janperson managed to cool Gibson down and get him to see the error of his ways, leading him to apologize to all the robots he had harmed after they had been rebuilt. Gun Gibson subsequently joined up with Janperson as his partner in fighting crime.
